my mother in law is insisting on coming over to our house to watch us open our wedding gifts

and also like hardcore guilting us with the “well it’s my friends that bought them for you, so I deserve to see what they gave you”

Which like is a fair point, their friends did purchase things from our registry, but so did my parents friends and they’re not insisting on being there??

But does it seems weird to anyone that my grown adult mother in law is insisting she come to her son and wife’s house to watch them open the wedding presents they received to start their MARRIAGE together?

and like my husband and I aren’t living together until we’re married, so right after I move in she cozies on up and is like ‘heyyyy let me come over’

am I being ridiculous?

tonight banjo boy and I went to a party and he ran into someone he knew and this guy LATCHED on to him and then proceeded to only talk to him the remainder of the night and the only thing he talked about was guns and himself (neither of which are topics I’m familiar with) and so I just sat there and listened until he straight up dragged my boyfriend away to continue talking about his dumb self and his dumb guns and I didn’t know what to do and I didn’t know anyone else there so I just sat there in terrified silence until some sweet soul was kind enough to start talking to me but banjo boy could t get away and I kinda got left there and I was so stressed about having to walk up to a group of strangers to enter into their conversation and the fact that I was unable to do so that on the drive home I cried
