1. 45 so far
2. TFIOS and The Lightening Thief
3. In no particular order: Crying in H Mart, The Cruel Prince, Before the Coffee Gets Cold, Legendborn, Under the Whispering Door
4. RF Kuang, Celeste Ng, Michelle Zauner
5. Fantasy I think
6. So many books lol.
7. I think it’s around 4 and I’d say it’s pretty accurate.
8. I surpassed my goal of reading 30 books and definitely branched out more genre-wise. I read more non-fiction/memoirs and it’s become one of my favorite genres.
9. Lol see last answer
10. I don’t read many new releases. I’d say Babel though.
11. I loved Little Fires Everywhere
12. Norwegian Wood and Vicious
13. Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde
14. Dial A for Aunties, Six Crimson Cranes, Hand on the Wall
15. I don’t really pay attention to awards.
16. It Ends With Us
17. Educated by Tara Westover
18. No clue. I borrow most of what I read from the library, but when I do buy books it’s usually from thrift shops or used bookstores. I’d say 10-20
19. All the time. I love my library
20. Bloodmarked was my most anticipated read but I haven’t read it yet. Hopefully soon though.
21. I didn’t participate but I saw some of it on YouTube, Tiktok, and twitter.
22. Anna Karenina
23. Probably a couple of hours or less, I read a couple graphic novels.
24. I DNF-ed Eleanor Oliphant and quite a few others that I can’t remember right now lol.
25. I want to try to find books at the library that look interesting to me that weren’t recommended to me online. Preferably something that isn’t popular.

“Public libraries are such important, lovely places!” Yes but do you GO there. Do you STUDY there. Do you meet friends and get coffee there. Do you borrow the FREE, ZERO SUBSCRIPTION, ZERO TRACKING books, audiobooks, ebooks, and films. Have you checked out their events and schemes. Do you sign up for the low cost courses in ASL or knitting or programming or writing your CV that they probably run. Do you know they probably have myriad of schemes to help low income families. Do you hire their low cost rooms if you need them. Have you joined their social groups. Do you use the FREE COMPUTERS. Do you even know what your library is trying to offer you. Listen, the library shouldn’t just exist for you as a nice idea. That’s why more libraries shut every year

i get that we're supposed to graduate. really do. but tell me how do i focus on studying and finishing assignments when the outside is in shambles and governments are crumbling under the weight of souls of the people their incompetence and unpreparedness killed. how they expect us to work as normal as if im not living thru the biggest disaster that struck mankind this side of the 18th century. this is like if fucking, sky opened up and the trumpets sounded and i begged they wait coz i had to turn in a fucking paper before 23:59h. absurd.

i don’t think i’ve ever been more ready for autumn which sounds strange as i’m always ready for autumn but i find great comfort in the colder seasons and i think after so long of distance from loved ones it would be nice to feel hugged by the crisp air and warm tones of the leaves

i haven't seen any posts about this going around on tumblr yet, and i know theres a lot going on around the world but this is an issue that needs (and has always needed) more coverage tbqh.
Kylie Jenner has recently been under fire for her clothing line in collaboration with Kendall Jenner, Kendall + Kylie, refusing to pay Bangladeshi apparel workers making their products. the company is owned by Global Brands Group, which has decided not to pay the workers due to the lack of sales during the pandemic. people started speaking up about the payment issue on Kylie's instagram, but instead of a proper response comments were being deleted and eventually limited.
however, the issue doesn't begin and end with Kendall + Kylie, the treatment of factory workers in Bangladesh is a problem with a long overdue response. most of these people are women working in gruelling conditions, being paid in dust and recieving little to no benefits. their lives are seen as disposable. during the quarantine, factories continued production but laid off a quarter of the workforce while the rest still face the threat of wage cuts and lack of access to healthcare.
all the fast fashion we consume like Gap, Primark, Forever 21 and C&A comes at the cost of labour exploitation in developing countries like Bangladesh. this is the country where the main source of income is textiles, where the 2013 Rana Plaza incident killed 1,100 factory workers alone, where workers constantly protest for better salaries and safer conditions, and yet they recieve not even an ounce of dignity for their hard labour. change needs to happen, better sooner than later. will reblog with what you can do to help (since tumblr hates posts with links).

idk how ppl find twitter ‘more bearable’ than tumblr. i log onto tumblr and i see posts from the same handful of ppl i’ve come to expect, displayed in chronological order. then i log onto twitter and it’s like “here’s a seemingly random collection of posts arranged in order of how angry we think they’ll make u! also, every celebrity and major world leader is on here trying to earn their master’s degree from Clown University”
