you fall asleep in the mid-afternoon and wake up an hour or so later in a tangle of limbs, his breath soft and warm against your skin. maybe its sunset now, or close to it, and the light fills the room with a warm glow. he mumbles your name in his sleep and moves closer, pulling you to his chest. your eyes flutter closed and you breathe in the smell of his cologne. it’s peaceful.
