I am a bit smug now because when I was in college getting my degree, it was constantly belittled. Despite communication being the foundation of concepts like propaganda, culture, community, relationships, marketing, public relations, science communication; despite it having so much overlap with psychology; it was constantly undermined because the only application people could think of was sports broadcasting.

But now it’s been the better half of a decade and people are asking questions like why are our men becoming more conservative, why is our culture so politically divided, are politicians lying to us, how can we reign in news media..

Like oh wow that’s crazy don’t ask me I just have this useless degree that’s related to all these things but hey at least 25% of grads are getting those CS degrees you respect so much. Why don’t you ask them to explain and address those problems instead.

My tummy, it’s been 6 hours why the fuck you freaking out about hunger so badly!! Like okay I’ll have a snack, but why are you being so dramatic??

You shouldn’t be making me paradoxically nauseous after 6 hours. 12 or 24 hours that makes sense. But 6? That is the difference between lunch and dinner!!

Also this is a sign that voting does in fact matter. If voting didn’t matter they wouldn’t be afraid of young people voting and they wouldn’t put so much effort into making voting more difficult or preventing certain people from voting.

Republicans want to raise the age of voting to 21 because 18-21yos voted in droves in the Midterms. This is the same Republican Party that believes that an 18yo is mature enough to purchase an AR15 and a 10yo is old enough to be a mom.

Take all the time you need with that.
