Woohoo! I spent the whole day yesterday painting with palette knives! Although I had tried the impasto style with oil paints and palette knives in the past, painting a landscape with these knives is a completely different story. I followed a skillshare class by @gerald_j_ashcroft and painted this with acrylics, I didn’t want to use oils as I didn’t want to sit outside due to high density of pollen in the air (spring problems 😊). Cherry blossoms are blooming everywhere and by next week they will all be gone. I feel very lucky to be able to step out to view these flowers, whereas most of the people around the world cannot afford to, and in some cases, are not allowed to venture out of their apartments. Although we were always allowed to go out for exercising, our country relaxed the lockdown after Easter, allowing small shops to operate. Other places like restaurants are still only allowed to deliver/takeaway and malls still remain closed. Who knew we would be in a time where going out would be a privilege!
