you're going to have to read the books and the theory and be honest with yourself as to how you feel reading it and how these things gel with your understanding of the world. and remain curious about that.

so that you know when some charlatan is just starting an adrenaline fueled argument with you on the internet to try and get you sucked into their weird worldview with them, or else to feel insecure and afraid so that you are more likely to defer. not because when this occurs you will be better equipped to argue them down, but so you can go "lol" at someone using loaded terms or at their perceived incisiveness that you know is probably not backed up by real knowledge. and then you can go do something else with your time.

and reading while being able to honestly gauge your feelings about what you're reading and how it relates to the wider world is something that takes practice. learning to trust your gut takes practice. you may not ever feel good at it, but you are entitled to it even if it's hard or people tell you that you shouldn't be. learning is just trying

yeah i mean if all of your personal political goals are to get people to defer to you as the arbiter of marginalization indefinitely (so as to secure your own safety, emotionally &/or materially), then anyone else articulating their own particular needs is going to be seen as less of a potential ally and equal and more of a threat to your personal position of deferential authority who you need to shut down
