this is another early Strokes photo from our first shoot together (for The Face). We started out in the courtyard of my building with me shooting from my kitchen window. January 16, 2001, NYC.

how do you make your gifs good quality? like even if the video is bad quality you manage to make the gif look good quality :)

use kmplayer to make screencaps (go here for a tut on how to use kmplayer, steps 2-5) so your screencaps are the same quality as the video.

sharpen your gif  (how to sharpen all the layers at once)

when coloring, add a levels layer, a color fill layer and adjust contrast to +30/+50.

finally, if your gif looks pixelated, add a simple texture (something like these)

when saving remember to keep your adjustments like this
