Astrid sighed in frustration, running her hands through her hair while reading the words on the screen. She’d been sitting there almost all day, trying to get this work assignment done before the deadline, all while trying to organise the two kids and keep the house organised.

Exhaustion felt like an understatement, she was…beyond that. It had been a relief when Hiccup had walked through the door, instantly taking over entertaining the kids so she could at least finish preparing dinner.

Favourite Soundtracks: How To Train Your Dragon trilogy

Composer: John Powell

The score earned John Powell his first Academy Award nomination and his third BAFTA nomination. The score also won the International Film Music Critics Association 2011 Awards for Best Original Score for an Animated Feature and Film Score of the Year, and was nominated twice for Film Music Composition of the Year for the tracks “Forbidden Friendship” and “Test Drive”. It also won two Annie Awards for the Best Music in a Feature Production one each for Httyd1 and Httyd2. Httyd2′s soundtrack won a Saturn Award for Best Music and was nominated for the same for Httyd1′s soundtrack.

Powell utilized many Celtic influences, employing instruments like the fiddle, bagpipes, dulcimer, pennywhistle, and even a harpsichord. The score was exceptionally well-received, earning universal praise from professional film score critics and fans alike.
