Wash Over Me Like a Hurricane (5)
Pairing: Dream of the Endless/Hob Gadling
Rating: Explicit (almost there)
“Bollocks it's cold in there,” Hob says as he comes in, arms full of books and the tip of his nose red.
“And now you see why I insisted you stay with me,” Dream replies, glancing up from his weaving briefly to take in the sight of Hob with his plethora of books and peevish expression. He is handsome, exceedingly so, and more than ever Dream thinks that he ought to keep Hob here among his other treasures, spoiled rotten and wanting for nothing. “What have you chosen this time?”
Hob hurries over, boots abandoned by the doorway as he hefts the stack a bit higher, showing Dream the spines. He has a dozen at least, ranging from a book on hazardous plants to a rousing tale of a man's journey across the sea and subsequent fall into the ocean, as well as three of Dream's romances. The last book, near the bottom is a thin volume, bound in supple leather with no title on the spine.
Dream recognizes it instantly, and reaches out to touch it with a claw. “You have a book of poetry.”
“Is that okay? I know you said she wrote a lot of what's in your library, and I can avoid the untitled volumes if you'd like,” Hob says, near tripping over his words as he rushes to get them out.
Dream shakes his head, settling back on his haunches. “It is fine. Her words are meant to be read. I am. Glad. For you to read them.”
Hob's relief is sweet in his scent, the sour smell of his worry gone in an instant. “I'm mostly reading them to see if she does you justice, if I'm honest.”“How do you know there will be any of me?” Dream retorts, heart kicking up when Hob looks at him with dark eyes.

I think that when we tell teenagers that their lives will be over if they don't have the most perfect possible trajectory through the education system, that this is, perhaps, if I may be bold, not good for them,

I just want to take the funny looking foal home. He's like the opposite of those overbred seahorse arabs.
And I'd let him grow a tail. Obviously.

actually asexual and aromantic people are allowed to feel literally anything about sex and romance and relationships. actually we don’t have to follow anyone’s made up rules about what we can and can’t do and how we can and can’t feel. actually identifying as asexual or aromantic or both is not putting yourself in a box, it’s allowing yourself to experience your identity freely and live how you want to live.
