Maybe someday, someone will read my insignificant words and will decide that they are worth something.
Maybe someday they'll move someone's heart, they'll inspire someone.
Maybe someday my words, they'll be written on stone, in a book, on a wall or someone's heart.
Maybe someday my words will live forever.

He says I look good in blue
Blue waves and blue eyes
Blue skirts and blue sighs
I'm still riding that high
Chasing after a compliment
I will never be satisfied
I know how this ends every time
I never learn my lesson
I end up here every time
I got so much to give
But no one wants it, I guess
So I give it out for free every time
He says I look good in blue
Blue hearts and blue skies
Blue bruises and blue pies
Blue is all I see, all I feel, and all I will abide by

On those blueberry hills
I asked you
To kiss me
Was it that easy to leave me
On those blueberry hills
I found my sound
By losing my heart
Some nights I wonder
Was it a fair trade
Was it an empty sacrifice
On those blueberry berry hills
I lost my heart
It's been years since
My sound is getting colourless
Won't you come
and paint my world again
We could meet on those blueberry hills
Like we met long ago
Before time existed
We stood here side by side
Rooted in the same hill
Do you remember, my love?
Our branches were intertwined
And we bore the same fruit
On those blueberry hills
let's meet again
You can give me the fruit of sound again
And I'll give you my heart again
We can weave this story again
On these blueberry hills
~inspired by the song
blueberry hills by Fats Domino

And just like that
Our world stops
Silence becomes heavy and deafening
It sits where you used to sit
And every "hey, how are you?"
Becomes "hey, I'm thinking about you"
And sometimes I would like to show them my wounds
But I'm still tending to them
And when the silence becomes too thick
I'll choke on it and fill the void with my tears
In between that silence is a prayer of your name
A name that leaves me warm and empty
And this silence promises to keep me company
Up until my world thwarts again
Until my world moves again
~grief

In a dark corner of my heart
There's a bunch of graves scattered around
I don't dare touch them
They are too sacred to be around
In them are buried the dreams
That I had to squeeze the life out of
With my own two hands
One day I'll go visit them
I'll read their names from the headstones
And I'll acknowledge them
One day I'll put flowers on them and I'll thank them
One day I'll write an eulogy for them and I'll cry for them
But for now let the dead dreams lie
As it's better for them to be dead then be alive

For anyone who doesn't know what's going on in Canada right now (which, let's be real, is probably everyone who's not in Canada):
This week, a mass grave was discovered at a former Indian Residential School, in Kamloops, BC. The grave contained the bodies of 215 Indigenous children.
For people outside of North America, residential schools were places that Indigenous children were sent to, to have their language and culture stripped away from them. They were literally stolen from their families, and scattered across Canada, to ensure that they would be surrounded by children who didn't speak their language. They were given Christian names and forced to speak English. They were horrendously abused, and the survivors have been traumatized.
Hundreds of children never returned. The assumption has always been that they died. This has now been confirmed.
The school in Kamloops closed in 1978. They are now trying to identify bodies to inform family members. The last residential school closed in the 1990s. There is growing demand to search all of them, but the government hasn't responded to that, as of yet. Ottawa JUST gave in to pressure to fly the Canada flag at half mast. They weren't even going to do that.
This is the reality if anti-Indigenous racism in Canada. The residential schools may be closed, but that hasn't stopped the abduction of Indigenous children, let alone the hundreds of missing and murdered Indigenous women.

This foolish heart,
All it really wants to do is to look back at it's own reflection,
Expecting a pure, rippleless surface.
And expectations breed disappointment,
or so they say.
And things we experience,
they come in waves.
So when the reflection shows a distorted, grotesque image,
I can't help but to think that
maybe this truly is my real face.

This is a non-exhaustive list of brands to boycott if you would like to participate in the Palestinian call for global Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) against the Israeli occupation. I've excluded security, construction, etc. firms that cannot be boycotted in an individual capacity. However, pressuring governments & other organisations to refuse contracts to those firms is an integral part of the BDS movement. Will also try to make seperate posts on how to add your voice to the academic and cultural boycott of Israel.
On another note, Coca-Cola and Nestle belong on every boycott list. Not just because they are complicit in the Israeli occupation but also because they have committed some of the worst human rights violations the world over. Coca-Cola has gone as far as having Union leaders murdered. Both Coca-Cola and Nestle steal water supplies and create water insecurity in already marginalised regions among many, many other crimes. I did not include them in the list because I am aware of how overwhelmed people become when they see those two companies and all their endless subsidiaries and I wanted to keep the list targeted on companies that have been the specific focus of the Palestinian BDS movement.
I have also excluded some brands that are often on older BDS lists, like McDonald's, because over the years they have stopped engaging in the activity that resulted in their boycott or have simply fallen to a lower priority because their relatively lower level of involvement compared to the brands that are our focus.
That being said, I hope this list will serve as a place to start. As always, do your own research to make informed decisions. For more information, you can also visit bdsmovement.net and bdslist.org

Care to talk about how anti-LGBT Palestinians are? Everyone seems to be just glossing over that fact
Yes GLADLY because I absolutely hate how often pro-Israel ppl use pinkwashing (please read that link if you don’t know what pinkwashing is and how Israel has constantly used it as part of its global image agenda) to justify genocide and war crimes. I’ll let you guys read that article because it does more justice to explaining this than I can.
First, it’s really dumb to expect colonized nations to develop socially. Palestine was occupied by the British and then by the Israelis. Now here’s something most people actually gloss over: anti-sodomy laws and anti-homosexuality laws were put into place in Gaza by the British Mandate Criminal Code Ordinance, No. 74 of 1936. Which still remains in effect to this day.
Same-sex acts were actually decriminalized in Jordanian-controlled West Bank in the early 1950s and are still upheld to this day.
Palestine itself has no legislation either for or against homosexuality.
What we SHOULD talk about is how imperialist states (mostly the US and UK) have notoriously supported and propped up Right-Wing regimes in the Islamic world to combat communist ideology. The US, UK, SB, IL have all backed right wing movements like the Muslim Brotherhood (which then became Hamas) just to thwart leftist movements like the PLO who are pro-communist elements of the Islamic world.
Maybe stop colonizing and bombing these countries so they can socially develop. I’m begging you to read Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs so you stop making stupid arguments like this.
Also idk why people have to keep saying this, but just because a country doesn’t have legislation to protect the LGBTQ community, doesn’t mean they deserve to be genocided. JFC

I have lived a million lives
And you only know about this one
I have lived a million days
And we only met on this one
I have awaken to a million sunrises
But there's something different about this one
I have waited on a million sunsets
But I've never seen colours like this one
I have been awake for a million stars
And I've never seen a constellation like this one
I have fought a million battles
But none of them hurt me like this one
I have written a million poems
But none of them sounded like this one
I have loved a million people
But none of them wounded me like you did
I have told a million lies
But never spoke of a truth like this one
I have sung a million songs
But no one listened to them like you did
I have prayed a million times
But I've never seen any of them answered like this one
I have lived a million lives
And you only know about this one

Yesterday, Israel bombed one of the biggest bookshops in Gaza. The Samir Mansour bookshop was one of the few publishing houses in Gaza as well. I saw a video of the owner of the bookshop fighting tears and talking about how much this bookshop meant to him and how he used to skip meals to be able to save money to get this bookshop going. This bookshop was part of the Kahil building which had various stores and offices.
In another video that was circulating, a guy from Gaza was explaining why Israel targets these buildings and towers. Every day you hear about a building targeted and leveled. He explains that these towers have been the main destination for the youth of Gaza as they usually contain coffee shops, bookshops, restaurants, educational and learning centres. So by destroying them, Israel is destroying memories and any potential for communal relationships.
This is what we mean when we say Israel is not only committing a full blown genocide as we have been witnessing publicly for days now, with over 200 deaths in the span of a week (as of May 19, 2021), but also this other form of incremental genocide that has been ongoing for decades; even when Israel isn’t bombing Gaza on a daily basis, there has always been an effort to erase Palestinian history and culture, from appropriating tatreez and the Palestinian cuisine to destroying literary works.
Highly recommend watching The Great Book Robbery documentary for more on that as it goes into the details about Israel’s appropriation of Palestinian books during the Nakba.
Erasing culture is an essential component of settler-colonialism, and what Israel is targeting in Gaza right now is by no means coincidental or “accidental”.

After refusing a ceasefire 3 times and killing hundreds of innocent civilians (including children) and bombing everything from homes, schools, refugee camps, factories, hospitals, ministries and international media offices to the ground, Israel has finally agreed to a ceasefire.
But not because they agreed to one that doesn’t mean the damaged has been undone, various war crimes has been committed without consequences and excluding all the dead and injured, there are currently 90,000 Palestinians that are displaced as a results of the 11 days bombing campaign.
Don’t stop protesting and spreading awareness/informations, Israel’s brutal blockade on Gaza is still on-going and Palestinians in Sheikh Jarrah are still under the threat of being kicked out of their own homes (the thing that outset all of this) to be replaced with Israeli settlers, Israeli lynching mobs are still roaming and are still attacking, beating and killing any Palestinian they see, the Israeli police/army are still allowing these mobs to do what they want without stopping them, in fact the Israeli police/army is still joining in the fun and taking parts of these mobs that target unarmed Palestinians civilians even if it was in public, but most importantly the US still refuses to condemn all that Israel has done and they still blindly support them.
While this ceasefire may be good news for all the families in Gaza, it still doesn’t change the fact that the violence and the state-sponsored terrorism against the Palestinians is still going on, so keep on protesting, keep on contacting your representatives/government, keep on learning, keep on spreading awareness and keep on boycotting, because as far as we know this ceasefire might have only happened because of all of our efforts.

last night, israel bombed multiple homes in al-wehda street in gaza with no prior warning. the bombed the buildings with people in it. after bombing those many residential buildings, israel bombed all the main streets and roads and intersections that lead to Al Shifa hospital, largest medical facility in gaza. they cut all access to ambulances while dozens of people were buried, both dead and alive, under rubbles.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
people are still being pulled out of the rubbles. a young girl was just pulled out alive. the head of the civil defense in gaza says rescue teams are working hard, they can hear the screams of people under the rubble but they are having a hard time rescuing them because they don’t have enough resources.
Tumblr media
as of now, we count 34 martyrs of which 12 are women and 8 are children, and more than 50 wounded. the gaza death toll has risen to 188 killed of which 55 are children and 33 are women, and 1280 wounded.
the IAF killed the specialist and director of the internal medicine department at Al Shifa hospital in gaza, Dr Ayman Abu al-Ouf, and Dr Moeen Alalool, one of the very few neurologists in gaza, along with his five children, during that same bombing last night.
a wounded man who lost his wife and four of his children says goodbye to his son for the last time. "بوسة و بس". “just a kiss”.
another devastated father who had to say his last goodbye to his children massacred last night in al-remal.
hospitals in gaza are filled to the seam. at al-shifa hospital, the martyrs have not stopped, the body freezers are full, they had to begin placing their bodies on the ground. the bodies are still increasing.
