now is a good time to introduce the protagonist of Doodle World: Starfall, Rose Aurelius + the synopsis of the AU

WALL OF TEXT ABOUT DOODLE WORLD: STARFALL AU UNDER THE CUT!! KEEP READING FOR THE SYNOPSIS

DoodleCo has advanced into space and established numerous civilizations on different planets. With the recent shocking discovery of magic due to their explorations, they have officially created the wonderful combination of magic and technology; Magi-tech! With this at anyone's disposal, it seems like life's comforts are conveniences obtainable by anyone now!

But what is the cost of convenience...?

The constellations smile upon the planets. Tonight, one comes down.

Rose Aurelius is the name she claims. Drawn in by this realm's strange lifeforms of paper, down comes the cosmic embodiment of the Lynx constellation to investigate what unfamiliar power ties this world together, in the form of a human traveller. With a book for archiving in hand, Rose seeks to travel and uncover the secrets behind Doodles and their history. But when she leans further in towards the society humans there have cultivated, Rose's attention is seized by this "Key Hunt" some company named DoodleCo claims to run. Well, she thinks, participating in some silly competition wouldn't hurt. It's just to kill time, and I get to travel across the world for this anyway.

Unfortunately for Rose, nothing will ever put a hitch in her plans more than this.

Rose finds herself dragged into mysteries she'd never think she would ever be hearing about, and adventures she could never think up. But what finally does her in is when she meets him, and all of DoodleCo's nasty secrets slowly begin to unravel, especially in regards to their latest magi-tech.

What it has cost them. What it has cost him.

Time is ticking. She must make a choice soon.

this is a very self indulgent AU im not even gonna lie to you. im a sucker for enemies to lovers and Riffraff is my scrunkly wunkly so i think it would be awesomestyle if he had a girlfriend that played the serious one to his goofy behavior. she's also as old as him btw (maybe even older) since canonically riffraff is Old

Rose is a personification of a cosmic (canadian) lynx! no more catgirls. now we have lynxladies

Rose being what she is does feel a bit out of place, but at the same time, thematic whiplash is already pretty commonplace in DW's story honestly 💀 so i'm just gonna roll with it

more on the DW: Starfall AU, specifically on Mr. Riffraff

having looked far too deep into the well way earlier than DoodleCo ever did, Riffraff had already expected DoodleCo to take advantage of the newfound magic energy source that Somniere and Verdrok could be used for, and sought to halt any progress they could make. however, Teneson was a step ahead of him and found out about his intentions before Riffraff could execute his plans, leading to a brawl between the two. Riffraff lost, but escaped to the main area where Somniere and Verdrok were being held.

Somniere, being able to sense Riffraff's good intents, sent him away from Teneson and "blessed" him with its kind of magic to strengthen him in the coming days. the "blessing" altered parts of his body to heal his wounds and is what grants him the ability to continue his work, but it also allowed Somniere into his mind. this led to it haunting Riffraff's dreams, and trying to influence him towards its own goals rather than Riffraff's original plans. he's got a solid will so he's been able to hold his ground but lord is that funny little doodle quite the pest when he's trying to get some rest
