also a thing that came up in conversation with @deepgrounded that i've been thinking about on and off.

i prefer the idea that nero and weiss' mother willingly went along with the evil science shenanigans. like i've always headcanoned her to be someone who was fanatically obsessed with lucrecia and wanted to mirror her successes.

however, i do like the idea that she had ties to the ancients. distantly descended from the cetra - like how the people of rhadore try to keep their traditions alive and are aware of all the planetology things. she was someone who was raised with the traditions though her bloodline no longer carried the power.

she maybe could use SND (which if you ask me is just a weaker/modified form of cetra lifestream communication) and that's why she was taken, her family slaughtered, her home left in pieces.she was pregnant with weiss and gave birth to him in that facility, she tried to connect with the planet and pleaded with it for salvation. it didn't heed her, but it gave her weiss - who was thoroughly untouched by any experiment, and was simply exceptional. and they left her well enough alone, allowed her to care for the child as they had enough brats to mind, until weiss started showing showing that talent.

then she was separated from him.

then she was selected for the stagnant mako experiments. she wasn't really given an option, but she agreed knowing full well that nero would be her curse.

one child to end them, one child to usher the worthy to a new world untouched by their greed. she wanted her children to exact her revenge upon shinra.

and when she gave birth to nero and died, the scientists reported that she was laughing as she held her arms out for the infant and was consumed by his power.

It seems like I’m on my FF7 arc of interest. So here is both Argento and Rosso. It’s my first time actually drawing Rosso. Perhaps I’ll draw more Tsviets in the near future. Drawing Rosso’s weapon was quite the experience…and a pain in the ass…😅
