10 years ago today, born this way by lady gaga was released so let’s take a quick retrospective:
1) glee was considered good representation and pretty much the only source for representation in the media
2) gay marriage being legalized across the united states wasn’t for another 5 years
3) most corporations wouldn’t touch pride with a 10-foot pole and openly showing support was a one-way ticket to lost revenue
4) rupaul’s drag race aired on LOGO, an exclusively lgbtq-content-driven satellite channel
5) hearing “transgender life” in “born this way” was actually a huge moment for trans folk
6) lady gaga promoted self-acceptance and love in most ways artists wouldn’t even consider doing today; she openly embraced her camp side and her massive lgbtq fan base
how crazy the world can change in 10 years. i love you, mother monster. because of “born this way”, i was able to fully embrace who i was. you changed the game. paws up forever. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

What do you think of trans women? Personally as a trans woman I think there are no words in the english language to describe how amazing we are
I think you're great and trans women are always the best at choosing names??? I met a trans woman once whose name was Aphrodite. Straight up. Killer name if you ask me

it's okay to mourn the person you could have been. it's okay to be angry or resentful at that lost potential. it's okay to be sad about it too. but i want you to know that there are so many parts of you, the you that exists right now, that are beautiful and lovely and meaningful. just because your past is lost doesn't mean your future has to be too.

Hey y’all! Gosh it’s been a while.
How are you!?
I am well. I am four months on T, I took my 8th shot just yesterday! I’m already seeing some nice changes. My facial hair on my cheeks is darkening, my hairy chin is filling in and so is my upper lip! I’m going to have a nerdy mustache, I just know it. My voice is slightly deeper too. And don’t even get me started on body hair. Heh.
I shaved my head as well, which is common for me. I usually do it at least twice a year. It’s funny because now my hair looks grayer than ever. It’s like all my gray/silver hairs are even shinier even though they’re not even an inch long. Drives me crazy lol
With my work, I’m unsure when I can begin the process for top surgery. My job involves a bit of heavy lifting so I’d have to be off work for a bit longer than if I worked at a desk. But I’m hopeful I can at least begin the process this year.
Honestly, I missed being active on here. I’ve been working, active in church, trying to take care of my health, doing therapy. I hope I can get back to posting/reblogging more.
God bless you all! I pray our Muslim siblings are having a blessed Ramadan and Baha’i friends are enjoying Ridvan!

Hey just in case you needed to hear it:
God loves transgender people. You don’t have to cis. Transition is a beautiful act of creation and God supports you. God will be cheering you on the whole time. So am I. God is so proud of you! Keep shining, my dear. You’re in my prayers.

A Prayer for Transgender Kids and Teenagers
Almighty God,
I thank you for the blessing that children are. Their innocence, their joy, their playfulness, their kindness. What an example to us they can be. Every parent has an idea in their mind of what their child will become, the person they will be. Sometimes parents are blessed with transgender children.
Many parents find this scary, and fearing for your child’s safety can cause anxiety of course. I pray that every transgender child (binary or nonbinary) be accepted by their families. I pray that they can be free to express themselves and be their authentic selves in safety, in love. If that is not possible, I pray they hold on until they can. They have faith and hope that one day, self-actualization will be possible, transition will be possible. Have faith my child.
I pray that every transgender child (including teenagers!) is safe today. That today, they can have gender euphoria more than they feel gender dysphoria. I pray they feel love today. I pray the love of Christ be present in their lives. Jesus loves His trans kids.
I pray every transgender child can have a chosen family of people outside their immediate family that support them, help them, encourage them and love them. I can be that person for them if they lack that. They can talk to me anytime. I pray they can stay connected virtually to their friends and chosen family and other supportive people during the pandemic.
Lord, protect your transgender children who were made in your image. They are not sinners, they are not abominations. They are beautiful children of God. To quote my Pastor Paula Stone Williams, “the call to authenticity is sacred, it’s for the greater good.” I pray one day they can feel the joy of gender euphoria and can transition, no matter what transition looks like for them. I pray their pronouns be respected.
I pray every transgender child knows they are beloved. I pray they love themselves. Being transgender is more than feeling dysphoria. There are so many blessings in being trans. Hold on until you find them, my love. You will be glad you held on.
Thank you God. I love You. You fill me each day with your Holy Spirit, and the Love of Christ fills my spirit. This gift is available to anyone, including transgender people like myself. Because You love transgender people, and always will. Thank you.
In the name of Jesus, Amen.
