i love dovewing using her special hearing powers to listen in on gossip but,, what abt when she accidentally catches briarlight talking abt how to propose to her and then has to spend ages pretending she didnt hear so she doesnt ruin the surprise >_>

briarlight told jayfeather she wanted to be dovewings mate and dovewing just spends the whole day,,,, vibrating with joy,,,,, wanting to tell EVERYONE abt it and to talk abt how much she loves briarlight  but she HAS to wait

shes not very good at keeping these things secret tho bc briarlight comes over to her, smiles, and opens her mouth and dovewing is like “Y-YES I��LL BE UR MATE!!!” and briarlight is shoving her face in her paws like “i wanna be ur mate too but i was just gonna ask u if you wanted to help me with my exercises so i could ask you,,,, lionblaze was waiting with a big bundle of flowers to help with the surprise”

lionblaze sadly walks out from behind the highledge bc he was really excited about popping out from behind it to be like “SURPRISE SHE LOVES YOU”

i love love love the concept of briarlight/dovewing w/ a big side of berrynose/jayfeather [and of course hollyleaf/willowshine but that probably would happen later on when holly comes back] and ANYWAYS i love love love the idea that

briarlight is super Unaware of how to show how much she likes someone if that makes sense like she thinks that shes either too much or not forward enough and she needs help understanding HOW To Flirt and she knows jayfeather isnt the best option for this so she goes up to BERRYNOSE and decides to ask her best friends bf for help

“-and like. i was wondering. how do i….show her??? like i tell her she looks nice and she says it’s the late afternoon, i dont think im being forward enough.”

and then briarlight just takes berrynose’s advice SO seriously and thinks hes a Romance Expert despite jayfeather reminding her how not true that is….she gives dovewing some weeds and even tho dovewing is like “thanks??” jayfeather is like “why are you listening to him thats not…he doesnt know what hes talking about” and briarlight is like well jayfeather…..berrynose SAID….

I feel like Dovewing would always sit outside the medicine den when Briarlight has checkups and stresses out so much. Dovewing worries about her A LOT but Briarlight always tries to assure her that she’s fine.
