hello! I've noticed your adhd checklist post going around again and noticed that you write "inattention (dissociation)" which is something I haven't seen before! I was wondering how (or if--since I'm not at all knowledgeable) this might be different from the sort of dissociation that's traumagenic?

It *is* different from trauma induced dissociation!

So basically, dissociation is just a fancy term for zoning out, daydreaming, spacing out, etc. So that is a huge symptom of ADHD, but instead of it being zoning out bc of trauma, it's zoning out or daydreaming because you're understimulated. Can't really pay attention because there's nothing stimulating and it's incredibly boring, yeah?

So that's what that means.

Imagine going through the world being hit on exclusively by people whom you find unnatractive. Not only that- they fully expect that for you to find them attractive and actively pursue you.
