through the healing process and returning to oneness, something that takes my breath away is the inexpressible feeling and experience of opening.

this opening can take many forms. i've experienced it as a sensation of deep primal pain and fear. with an acceptance of that fear, a bliss and unconditional love unfolds as the heart space opens further and deeper.

simply the thought of the element of fire tends to stir a response within. this feels like the home of carrying out our deepest desires and wishes through action and focus.. the burning of all that keeps us trapped in cycles of untruth and instead merging with this fire in our devotion and pursuit of absolute freedom.

aspects of this figure appear to be incomplete or dissolving yet carries a posture of welcoming the viewer towards them. what lies beyond the burning?

release, flow, acceptance, purification

through each of the elements i feel connected to the quality of purification.

since childhood, water reminds me of the depth of emotions and what happens when they are suppressed and unable to flow freely. this expression of water represents a juxtaposition seen in the sadness in the figure's eyes and face while also being slightly turned away, partially naked, and in self embrace.

through healing and balance water allows reflection, honour, and allowing all of it to return back into the sacred flow.

beginning with earth, the vessel for all possibility, this divine embodiment crouches while balanced on tiptoe in a gesture of exuberance and ecstatic bliss. i feel connected to the liberation that arises from being fully grounded and resting in oneness.

creating these pieces i felt connected to a feminine expression of the elements and what this might look like if each personification were to be captured visually.

hello! my name's alana and my pronouns are she/they. i create intuitively meaning that my process involves trust and surrender. there's a beautiful fine line that i wish to both rest and dance upon when it comes to embracing intentions and allowing creation to flow naturally.

this human experience, the earth that we exist within, and reuniting with our deepest truth are elements that deeply inspire this desire to create and explore. creation in its many forms also serves as a path and method of profound healing and release in this embodiment.
