Is anyone else ever genuinely shocked when you find out you have an impact on someone’s life? A coworker can be like “I’ve missed seeing you” and I’m just like “???? you?? missed me????? My presence has an effect on your daily experience???? I affect things??? W h a t ? ? ?”

““Lucha libre called to me. It showed me that women are as strong as men, as tough as men, and sometimes can kick ass better than a man can. I lace up my boots for all the girls out there who need to be on their feet. I train for every girl who no longer needs to be afraid. And I win for every girl out there who needs a hero. Because every woman is sexy, every woman is a star.””

I've been thinking about this, for a LONG time, and I really should say it.
Americans, I should say white privileged Americans, have been raised in a racist country. When I was a young child, I remember how racist and Homophopic I was (even though I was "dating" my girlfriend). I would see an innocent black man or a black woman, and I would feel fear, almost.
But as I grew up, I realized that I was raised in an racist, Homophopic environment. It wasn't an excuse, by ANY means, but thinking back on it now, I realized how impressionable children are.
There's always the excuse, "well, I was raised in a racist/Homophopic household, you can't blame me for how I am now!!"
My response to this "excuse " is always, Fuck you.
You. YOU, get to choose how you feel about black Americans. You get to choose how you act on your opinions. You get to choose.
Do you think about how your actions could affect an innocent individual?
Do you think about that black man, who had a family, who was just buying sweet tea and skittles?
How he was MURDERED?
I saw an article, about a 24 year old black man, who was dancing around on a sidewalk, just vibin to his music. Someone called the cops on him. He was murdered, in the same exact way as George floyd, because he wouldn't "cooperate". Apparently he looked suspicious, because he was wearing a mask, because he was anemic.
And I remember thinking, "this innocent man, was just listening to his music. He wasn't even DOING anything!".
But what really made me realize how INNOCENT he was, was a video.
It was a video of him playing a violin, for the rescue kittens. Because they wouldn't stop crying, he was trying to calm them down.
He is just one of MANY, innocent, black Americans.
Someone with a personality, Someone who had feelings.
I support the BLM movement, because these were just innocent Americans, trying to live their lives!
I'm white, I'm privileged, I can remember several times where I was treated differently, BETTER, by the police. Because I'm white.
If you're an "American" and you can stand by and let this happen, listen to me and listen to me good:
You're not an American . You're a racist, Homophopic bigot. And have no place here.

I know not all men are rapists. Yet I feel genuine fear every time a man walks too close because as someone that was assigned female at birth I'm at a higher risk of sexual assault by men, and I've been sexually assaulted by men.
So why does it not make sense for black people to be afraid of all cops when they're at higher risk of being assaulted by cops, and they've probably been harassed by cops before?
Just asking.

I always find it funny when books like Harry Potter and Percy Jackson get crap for being ‘witchcraft’ and ‘anti-christian’ but you know who no one ever talks about? Phillip Pullman and his masterpiece His Dark Materials trilogy. Some of you may recognize the first book’s title, The Golden Compass from the awful movie adaption, but seriously those books are so so good and full of badass witches rebelling against the vadican for mutilating children, gay ass angels who join the rebellion so they can be free to love each other, an ex nun who escapes the oppression of the church to pursue a life of science, a little girl who is so good at manipulating she overthrows an entire empire in one day, and a 12 year old boy who murders god with a knife

Stop reducing native issues to “they had their land taken”.
Our sisters are still murdered and missing. Our children go hungry and cold. Our elders can’t afford health care. Our parents suffer from untreated mental illness and have addictions because they self medicate.
And thats not even on the reservations. Thats just in farming communities of the Lumbee. And we are doing well by comparison to other groups.
Stop reducing us to stolen land and erasing our real struggles.
