I’m so so so excited to announce that the book I’ve been working on the last few years (and arguably the last 15 years) has finally been published and is available on Amazon for purchase!! You can find the link to the book directly through my website (link in bio) or just by searching on Amazon 😀 • It’s been almost 15 years since I wrote down my first quote and since then I’ve written (or typed) thousands. Over time, I increasingly latched onto those short one-liners that sum up the essence of many life lessons. A few years back I finally decided to organize all these one-liners I collected into a single document and categorized them by theme. I pared them down to just a few of my favorite ~600 quotes that I split into various chapters (e.g., letting go, mindfulness, gratitude, self-love, etc) and ultimately published. • If you are as much of a quote collector as I am, feel free to pick up your own copy 😀

At some point, after enough tears and alcohol, my thinking began to shift and I began to understand that although had done something horrible to me and she could be blamed for that, it was now my own responsibility to make myself happy again. She was never going to pop up and fix things for me. I had to fix them for myself.

There’s a difference between blaming someone else for your situation and that person actually being responsible for your situation. Nobody else is ever responsible for your situation but you. Many people may be to blame for your unhappiness, but nobody is ever responsible for your unhappiness but you. This is because you always get to choose how you see things, how you react to things, how you value things. You always get to choose the metrics by which to measure your experiences.

Highs come in many forms. Whether it’s a substance like alcohol, the moral righteousness that comes from blaming others, or the thrill of some new risky adventure, highs are shallow and unproductive ways to go about one’s life.
