my favorite thing about the raven cycle are the dialogues

i love how they're not perfect. i love how they can often say something stupid because they didn't think before saying, just like real people do. i love how they can go from talking about latin and energy and history to talking about kissing or deciding if gansey should keep his beard growing.

there's also something about the tiny actions that the characters notice (maggie points out). like when blue notices that ronan's head accidentally hit the lamp at nino's or when gansey mouthed 'blue' to adam when malory was talking about birds and all the times they mention the way someone looked at the other when something was said or who was standing next to who in some situations. it just feels so natural, as if you are really in the scene, seeing with your own eyes.

overall, i love how despite all the magic, it's such a real narrative in a way the characters seem like real people.
