so the reasons for it are obvious but it irritates me that rand is really the only male channeler whose perspective we get much of, because it makes it really difficult to decide which parts of his channeling experience are about how saidin works and which are just how rand experiences them

Made a chart for sorting fantheories

Trying to break down that one part of htn like. There’s three characters in the scene: God, a teenage nun, and God’s dead daughter (who is currently sharing a body with the nun and is also kind of the nun’s girlfriend? They didn’t really get a chance to define the relationship before the whole dying thing). God doesn’t know his daughter ever existed. The nun has forgotten that she ever existed. The audience does know she existed, but they don’t know she’s present in this scene. The daughter knows that she exists and is here but doesn’t know that she is at all related to God.

And then God looks the nun in the eye and says “If I ever had a daughter, I’d want her to be like you,” and no one involved has enough information to know how fucked up a statement that is.

Hoid-Kaladin dynamic is awesome bc Hoid isn’t even that annoying to Kaladin. He’ll truly just be like “rough day huh Kaladin” and Kaladin will go “do you ever shut the fuck up”

#the fun thing is like. kaladin doesnt find hoid more annoying than he finds the average person(/lighteyes) #and hoid doesnt find kaladin stupider or more worthy of insult than most people #in fact id say by book 3 or so they somewhat like/respect each other #but i think hoid always sounds a bit mocking by default and kaladin is a huge grump so their average interaction is exactly like this #stormlight archive #roshar
