Baby’s First OTP Feels: a Tale of Regret

Ahahah oh man an amazing thing that actually happened???  NO Baby girl you are too young for this life and pain.

Her mom thinks it’s hilarious and gave me permission to make a comic out of it? It’s awesome that she has all the Disney movies at her house, and they didn’t know about Miyazaki before! Now they do and watch it with her! I let her watch Totoro weeks after that! She got really into it too!

If you made lore for a character you’ve had since you were 16, and you’re in your 20s now and have a better grasp of narrative structure and power creep, you can just retcon the dumb stuff. Like you can do that for free. You’re not beholden to the junk you wrote 5 years ago, and you don’t need to justify removing it if it sucks.

For Better or Worse

 “Hey babe! Dinner’s out, ready when you want it.” As he made his way toward the door he listened for a response, but only heard muffled, quiet cries and the sound of scuffling boots in response. He hesitated for a second before picking up his pace, quickly rounding the corner to see his wife in the doorframe, struggling to pull a windbreaker off over her head.

    Shane abruptly stopped and bit his lip, trying not to laugh at the sight. He leaned against the wall and scratched his head as his wife bounced against the doorframe.

    “It might help if you unzipped it first.” His wife slowed, and Shane began to prepare another quip as the fabric finally began to make its way over her head. Her face, though, stopped him in his tracks. The Farmer’s eyes were red and puffy, tears streaking their way down her face. Her hair was disheveled, most likely from the jacket, but Shane could see a fair amount of grass stuck in the dark strands. She was practically vibrating, her face contorted into some strong emotion Shane was almost afraid to identify.

    “Oh, shit.” Shane moved quickly to her, a hand reaching to cup her face. “Baby, what’s wrong?” Tears started to flow faster from the Farmer’s eyes as she began to sob, her shoulders heaving under his touch.

The Plot: Shane is shocked when he finds out that his wife has been hiding financial troubles, but is determined that the two of them together will be able to fix it.

A lot of cuddling, crying, and babying in a relatively fluffy (but sad?) piece.
