Nova & Star-Lord being two different flavors of tragic veterans under Abnett & Lanning really sticks with me.
Pete’s been serving for so long that all the hard stuff is commonplace, but he’s tired and desperate for an ending. Rich had enough really bad shellshocks and was forced to change so fast it isolated him from almost everyone he knew.
Both of them only find community amongst their fellow soldiers against Annihilation.

What do you think of Gaea's new look? She really does look like an "old god" now.
She's kind of cute in a Man-Thing sort of way, also the little flower leaf bow on her head is adorable.
Tumblr media
Seriously speaking, I love it and it's probably one of my favorite looks for her. It's her original primordial God look and it's the harsh aspect of her that she chooses to show to her son and Thor is quite taken aback by it too which makes me think she has not showed this side of her since ancient times.
Some gods have different aspects or faces of themselves and Gaea is no different in that regard.

Pretty sure there's more looks for Gaea but really this is a character you can excuse looking different in every comic because she changes her look a lot.

God I just heard about Akira Toriyama's death (He died March 1st) and it's a bit upsetting....Dragonball and Chrono Trigger were a big part of my childhood and teen years.

I would say it's worse only because of how awkward the group hug is. Mainly because you have characters that have had little to no interactions with each other hugging, characters that don't normally show PDA showing it, or in the case of Wendell just weirdly feeling left out.
Kl'rt alone doing the fire group hug with his arms is hilarious, this character has waaay too much pride to do something like this and he definitely wouldn't do it with a group he has barely interacted with.
The ending with Ewing group shot didn't feel so fake and yes it had Rich.

this is literally the end of the ewing run, just minus rich this time

Also it wasn't Kev Walker's best work. His 40K work and his art in Annihilation: Nova were good and he's done better things but everything in this was just no...
I guess he gave Gamora a good outfit but the way he made her look sometimes and just about everything with Mantis was...no.
2023 Guardians run might be worst guardians run.
The Bendis run only outdoes it in terms of going for so long, but if you compare 2023 Guardians to the first arc of the Bendis run then the Bendis run comes out as the better run.
I would even say that the last Bendis Guardians arc probably reds better than the 2023 run but I am not a masochist to go and read it again.

It just ended last month pretty quietly because not a lot of people care and those that bothered gave it bad reviews or were roasting it because the whole thing was weird as hell.
Basically the Guardians excuse Groot committing genocide and assimilating everyone into plant zombies and condemned Spartax for wanting to stop Groot and felt justified because one one Spartoi was being an asshole.
But no it's done, so now the Guardians and Rich are in limbo. There might be something planned with Rich but who knows.
Well I guess that awgul GotG run is gone so Gamora and Peter can go to Arakko and visit comatose Richie.
Well if the Arakkii feel like it that is...

Which is a shame since Peter David's recent mini series with Genis was good.
I hate when a writer establishes something good or interesting and bring back a character and then the next writer comes in and all they can think about is kill of the character or undo what the previous creator did. Genis being back is so interesting considering his personality and he's kind of the black sheep of the Vell fam that everyone expected to follow in Mar-vell's steps (especially after he went all mad god and destroyed the universe) and Teddy is the golden child that everyone loves and thinks lives up to Marv. You could do something interesting with it, also the fact that Genis is younger than Teddy in years but also older in appearance.
I guess now he's meeting up with Teddy but he's mind control, fighting him, and it's ultimately not even about him or Teddy, it's about Carol because it's her comic. Also Genis being the bad guy sucks, if you're making him a bad guy at the least have him be in charge of his actions.

With all the hype for Dune: Part Two, I just realized that Paul Atreides might have a Marvel analogue: Adam Warlock. Would you agree?
I am such a newbie with Dune and not the best person to ask but is it because of the whole Messiah thing? even though Paul from what I know takes advantage of how the Fremen worship him for his own agenda and Adam is pretty appalled at being seen that way, especially after the whole Magus ordeal.

Does Phyla-Vell work better as Quasar or Martyr?
it depends in what stage of her life Phyla is in, but I feel she can pull off both. However there were so much stuff unresolved with Martyr and she got killed off in the worst way and she needs to come back.
And if you do Quasar with all the rules and intention that Gruenwald had with the bands and the role of Quasar you'd also have an interesting story to tell with Phyla.

do we have any ideas where rich is going now? or any clue on who will be writing him?
No clue, he appeared in Timeless #1 which is a comic that supposedly teases new and upcoming Marvel projects and the only thing we can get out of that is that maybe Marvel will do something with Rich in the near future.
I hope it's an ongoing by Al Ewing (I will die if it's a mini but it's better than nothing) and I would very much want that comic to tie up some of the lose ends in Rich's stories (Garthan Saal, Robbie as Talonar, expand on the whole Skrull and Xandar war, etc...) as well as introduce new villains and lore.
Al Ewing definitely has the potential of making an iconic Nova run and I wanna read it. Also have Juann Cabal or any artist that can portray Rich in all his beauty.

I love how Al Ewing writes Loki in the new Thor book.
After X-Men red ended his Thor book is the only Marvel comic other than Resurrection of Magneto that I'm picking up. It has the same feel to the old Gillen and JMS Thor stuff that I loved and miss.
Is Loki is really fun, he plays both an antagonist to Thor but also is clear that he loves his brother. Thor knows his nature as Skald and understands it. It's honestly a great way to have Loki still be an occasional antagonist without resorting to making him evil or repeating the same old tired stuff.

Have you heard? Genis-Vell was killed off again!
Yeah I'm aware, he's not dead dead but the story is really doing him no favors and it sucks that he's meeting teddy while under someone else's control.
