L. HEADCANON : SOLAR POWER, EXPANDED.

While Leona's appearance has yet to change dramatically, permanently, there are times when she does channel her Solar Power to the highest level her mortal form can handle, and it's hard to miss when this happens.

During the channeling and even a good little time afterwards, Leona will glow like the sun itself. Her magic aura alive with celestial power — her skin will glow stronger, white-hot, while her hair will drip with golden energy. She is nothing short of blinding when like this, but should one get a closer look for some reason they'll notice that her many freckles are also each glowing individually like little speckles of gold, glittering in her own light. Her eyes turn fully yellow, and her forehead rune pulses in kind.

And if her appearance alone didn't convince you that she is indeed a demi-goddess, perhaps her powers will.

Her Solar Power becomes a fluid energy within not only her hands or her weapons, as it usually is, but within her entire being. She may raise an arm or swing it, to create waves of sunlight across the ground, she may send forth waves from her own being, she may even stand completely still and pillars of sunlight will rain from the sky as the clouds are forced apart.

Leona chooses how destructive these forces are, herself. Well, she does and she doesn't. The Aspect within has a lot to say in things, and when their wishes do not align, neither does the levels of destruction within all this magic. It could cast solid objects or people asunder one moment, but be naught but a warm blanket of comfort the next. The more wild and extreme her magic becomes, the harder it is for Leona to control it, also.

After such an event, once her glowing and adrenaline dies down, Leona is left vulnerable for a long time while her powers recharge. A mix of emotional recovery and also drinking up the sun's light may help her recharge them, since she absorbs the latter like a rechargeable battery or a solar panel. Her magic is directly linked to her emotions, too, so chances are that the event was sparked by intense emotion — and if that's the case, she will likely need to heal mentally and psychologically afterwards.

Whatever had lead them to this point, Leona no longer remembered. All she knew was the sharp sound of steel upon steel, colliding in countless strikes, and the adrenaline rushing through her veins. Coming here, she had made peace with the fact that only one of them would walk back out ━ and the metallic taste in her mouth spoke to the likely outcome of the evening. Still, she would fight to the last.

Diana was a formidable foe, and she deserved nothing less.

The first arrow shot past her faster than she could catch on to what it was. Only once a couple more shone gold in the sunset rays did she realize what was happening ; anger quickly boiling within her chest. A few of her Ra’horak warriors still took it upon themselves to hunt Lunari, despite Leona's orders to refrain. From behind her back she heard a muted ❝ Volley! ❞

She didn't need any further warning, charging towards Diana once more but this time with her shield pushing forward instead of her sword. She made no impact upon the other Aspect either, instead raising her shield above both of their heads as the archers let fly their arrows, seemingly uncaring about whether she'd be met with a blade to the gut or not.

❝ Get down, ❞ she urged the other woman, before gritting her teeth in a pained expression as an arrow pieced her leg, and another pair her back. More blood soon welled up behind her teeth, as she stood leaned over Diana protectively, shield held high as if that was her only priority right then. Maybe it was.

The edges of her eyes softened just a tad, brows furrowing as she finally met her former friend's eyes. ❝ Diana . . . ❞
