Seems Hollyleaf left big paws to fill…
Inspired by this post! I’m really intrigued by the idea of Hollytuft not believing she’s good enough to carry on Hollyleaf’s name.

For Everyone Questioning Being Otherkin or Their Kintype
I first heard of otherkin about 6 years ago. Although I thought those people were clearly delusional and using kin to cope with their lives, I kept browsing kin content. Something about it felt relatable. I had never quite felt entirely human, like I have urges and desires that I shouldn’t.
While I grew out of some of these desires/traits as I left my teen years behind, many remained. In fact, they settled into my personality.
About 5 years after hearing about otherkin, I finally began to acknowledge that it is the best way to describe how I feel. I started an otherkin blog to finally save some of my favorite content.
A year after that, and I found one of my kin types. Not by stressing about choosing the right one, but by embracing little characteristics that I already had. One day I realized- I can’t imagine being any other kintype except this one. It just....made sense. It was much more of a journey of self-acceptance and self-discovery than one of trying to force myself to be something I’m not. And honestly EVERYONE should be comfortable with who they are.
In conclusion, Otherkin is sometimes, but not always a phase. It’s not something only for kids and teenagers. It’s ok to realize you were wrong about a kintype or even being otherkin. Just embrace how you feel currently. I feel like being otherkin was a big fad a few years ago. And while the community has definately decreased since then, it doesn’t make it any less real for those of us still here or just joining. If you are just getting into otherkin, welcome! And don’t stress about your kintype :)
