There will be discourse about if Biden and the living former presidents should go to his funeral (they won't, he was a traitor insurrectionist)

The Ukraine-Russia War immediately goes in favor of Ukraine as morale in the Kremlin is reduced. China similarly backs off from its threats on Taiwan.

Ten thousand new memes are made, some sticking around for years to come.

Not a month later a bunch of unofficial biographies of Trump hit the bookshelves, many with new details about just how awful he was.

i have a lot of modern internet pet peeves but i think the one that annoys me the most is when people make big posts like 'uhmm aha friendly reminder that piracy is a thing!! here's a list of websites where you can pirate anything you want (for free)' because A) they are usually not very good sites and are riddled with downloads that will make your computer shit itself and B) this is not how you fucking do this asshole. when you find a cool piracy site you pass that shit in hushed whispers, drawing attention to them like this is only going to lead to them getting shut down faster.

Public reminder that using they/them for someone you don't know it's completely acceptable and it only becomes transphobic if you learn their pronouns and continue to use they/them for them in order to avoid using their pronouns. An occasionally they/them if you forget and there's no one to help you remember their pronouns is fine, but do the work to try and remember and don't be afraid to ask if you forget!!!!

There's way too many mfs out there hiding behind they/them to be weird about pronouns and it sucks! But there's also a lot of people who are genuinely confused on what to do if you don't know someone's pronouns legitimately and it's important to learn that it's ok to use temporary language to be able to talk about someone!

hey got some important news. the affordable connectivity program that helps poor and disabled people afford internet is going to run out of funding by april 2024 if we can't convince congress to renew it

i know emailing and calling politicians often seems like a waste of time, but this is gonna hurt alot of people (myself included) if this program is allowed to disappear. we really need to raise some awareness and get this program the funding that it needs. ACP is a game changer for literally millions of people. this is the only way many homes can even get internet, and in this day and age internet access is pretty much a necessity for almost everything. its gonna be a huge blow to have this vital program taken away from those who depend on it.
