30 Questions about Seiyuu (2022 Edition) Day 2

"Your least favourite male seiyuu?" @natsthinkitythinkthinkthonk

Uhhhh so for this one, I'm basing my opinion off of recent events.

I know that there are some people out there that think that 'you shouldn't connect seiyuu and character. you should keep them completely separate from each other' but for this question, my interpretation of it is that it's asking about who my least favorite voice actor is, not just based off of their acting but as a person as well.

I think it's obvious where I'm going with this and I made a randomly long rant so I'm just gonna put it under a cut. Read at your own discretion.

I gotta go with the men that have been wrapped up in scandals with confirmations that their alleged actions actually happened to some extent with photo evidence or bascially confirmed straight from their mouths when making apologies: Namikawa Daisuke, Okamoto Nobuhiko, Suzuki Tatsuhisa, Sakurai Takahiro (just gonna note that the latter 3 all happened one year after another,,, the seiyuu fandom can't get a break)

I haven't talked a lot about any of these on my blog but I will say this: with all of the objective and confirmed information that I had tried to obtain regarding all 4 seiyuu, it's been hard to even listen to their voices anymore because of how much of an uproar these scandals caused and how utterly scandalous each situation was. (Granted, I still support their characters and know that they're talented as seiyuu but if they were in an event, I'd just have a neutral reaction to their presence.)

As a budding seiyuu fan that had made the quick decision to deep dive into various seiyuu events, and radios, and any kind of interactions really, when they were but a few months or so into the fandom, it's not a surprise that characters and seiyuu were associated with each other.

I made it a huge point that I wanted to be able to recognize seiyuu with just breathing or barely saying anything. I took pride in that and I still do now. But doing so allowed me to begin to care about the person behind the voice. I got to (somewhat) know the people behind the voices,, rather, I got to know the façade that they showed during events and the personality that they know that fans would want to see.

And honestly, this can apply to any and all seiyuu. Any and all celebrities, in fact. Heck, even people that you'd know in real life. Everyone puts up façades, especially when they're at work, because they need to maintain a certain type of professionalism and respect.

In the case of these 4 seiyuu, despite the fact that their issues had been revealed to the public via tabloids/pesky journalism, they're still issues. And it made me, personally, realize that these men are capable of the things that caused the drama and outrage from all corners of the fandom.

In the end, first and foremost I hope that they had apologized to the women involved and made the most amends that they could in their personal lives. But also I just wish them well in their professional endeavors. After all, we should all just move on from this and decide how we want to support (or not support) these particular men.

If anyone knows my blog by now or just took a glance at my bio, it wouldn't be a surprise that I chose him for this 🥰💛

No idea where to begin with him. I've voiced my opinions about him and love for him over the past 5 years so I honestly have no more words to say other than I love him as a seiyuu and as a person. His talents know no bounds be it voice acting, designing clothing, live acting, modeling, professional writing, music writing, singing, live music performances, dancing,,, the list goes on.

As a senpai, he's one of the sweetest and kindest in the industry. In the past, I've said how I love that the way his kouhais show affection and appreciation and love for him is heavily teasing him,, borderline "bullying" him 💀 but truthfully, just joking around and being sarcastic with one another. And I resonate with that. That's one way to show just how close you are with another person. And being able to playfully poke fun at someone shows just how much you know about them and how close you are to them.

As a kouhai, he's still the punching bag, too 😂 ,,, maybe it's worse? Honestly, I don't keep track. His relationships with his senpais are strong because he knows how to take care of them and have fun with them while also maintaining his respect for them (and let them tease you nonstop)

HIs personality is one that I've come to love a lot too. I just love his dorky, clumsy self a lot. AND HIS LAUGH.

I remember when I first heard it I was like '...that's not real, is it?' and then as I kept hearing it, it just became a part of him that was very endearing to me. Don't ask me why,, that's just how it is. It's just another part of him that makes him him and that alone makes me love it and him all the more. Also it's an indication that he's happy and having a good time, which then makes me happy and have a good time with whatever I'm watching/listening to like a radio, seiyuu event of any kind etc etc.

ANYWAY enough of this sappy rant 😅

All in all, I love Egu very very much. He'll forever be my seiyuu oshi until the day I die 💜

And so! The Heroine Tarumono anime has come to an end 😭😭😭

First and foremost I just have to say that it perfectly laid out a great storyline that connected all the MVs that touched on the topic of Hiyori navigating her life as the boys' manager-in-training (except for the one where she met that one idol from ASCANA, Asukana 👀👀)

I loved the way they connected everything. It really helped with figuring out the lore (as i do very much love figuring out the lore of honeyworks hehe)

A beautiful anime from start to finish! I love Hiyori and her 'never give up' attitude so much. Enjoy the girls singing my favorite song from Hiyori's part of the Honeyworks story :D

Attack on Titan S4 pt2 Ep12 (2/2)

again SPOILER WARNING. now lets get straight to it

OH GOSH WHAT TO SAY ABT THIS WHOLE 'do they love each other in a more than family way' PART OF THE EP.

i WILL acknowledge that its heavily implied that eren loves her as more than family so lets just assume that sure, he does love her like that.

in the left pic, eren literally looks desperate to hear that she thinks of him as more than just family. and then the right pic is him knowing that even if she reciprocated nothing should even happen. he doesnt have that much longer to live; he most likely feels that he shouldnt get anymore involved w her otherwise itd just be more painful to leave her

putting focus on the beginning and middle of the ep w mikasa's monologue: we could see that she was blushing when he asked her what he was to her so that obvi might imply that she loves him more than just family. but she didnt say that w the "you are family" part. BUT IF EREN DID HEAR THAT where she said that she loves him more than family, that still begs that question that mikasa ponders in the middle of the ep: would he change course if she had said smth else at the time aka she loves him more than family? would he change his plans to protect the woman he loves (IF he loves her like that and IF he properly knew that she reciprocated?)

considering hes been shown to be a very idealistic man and we always see him strongly stick to his ideals no matter what, would it have even made a difference if mikasa's answer was different?

i honestly think no, nothing would change if mikasa's answer was different. i think he was just looking for that confirmation. what he would do with that information, most likely not a lot bc he knows he has stuff to do. i dont think he would throw away his ideals for a woman he loves, he just doesnt seem to be that kind of guy. YES he cares abt her so so much (and his friends whom he considers family at this point) but he just wants her and everyone else to live on happily and peacefully whether or not hes there with them as he says he wants them to.

THE WAY THEY USED THE VERY FIRST LISTED OST TRACK 'attack ON titan' IN THIS FINAL SEGMENT AHHHHH IT WAS USED PERFECTLY. WHEN KOBAYASHI MIKA STARTED HER BEAUTIFUL AND POWERFUL SINGING, I COULDNT HELP BUT GET SO HYPED

THE BIGGEST THING THAT SHOCKED ME THIS EP. LOOK AT HIM. DADDY LONG ARMS RIGHT THERE. HE LOOKS SO MENACING. AND HOW LONG IS HIS BODY TF. CAUSE IF THATS THE HEAD HOW FAR BACK IS THE REST OF THE BODY. and how tf doES HE EVEN M O V E.

this is such a good frame of tiny eren. this is the moment that started his journey on finding out just how big the world really is

THIS FRAME IS ABSOLUTELY INSANE. AND AGAIN HOW LONG IS THE BODY.

call back to the first ep man. LOOK AT THAT PARALLEL. a colossal titan making its way into a city? AINT THE FIRST TIME WEVE SEEN IT.

So to go off of the very first line of ep 12 "Everyone says that Eren has changed.": In my opinion, eren hasnt changed one bit since he was a kid. this boy has made it abundantly clear that his mindset is always 'the enemy should be and needs to be removed' whatever 'removed' entails. theres him beating up the neighborhood bullies bc they were the enemy to the weaker kids they could pick on aka armin. theres him killing the bandits bc they were the enemy to the ppl that he and his dad were visiting. theres him wanting to kill titans bc he saw them as the true enemy of the walls (before he found out the full truth). and now theres him wanting to wipe out the whole world's population (except for paradis island) since theyre the enemy that views the island as the enemy.

ALSO CAN WE JUST TALK ABT THE ABSOLUTE TRAUMA THIS MAN HAS GONE THROUGH. first of all, dealing w finding out the future when he touched historia's hand. he found out about everything thats happening now and then also past this. AND HE COULDNT TALK TO ANYONE ABOUT IT EITHER. who would think that he wasnt crazy for saying that hes going to start the rumbling and kill of civilization outside of paradis island? SO HE HAD TO INTERNALIZE IT. THERES NO WAY HE'D BE MENTALLY OK AFTER FOUR YEARS OF THAT.

AND THEN THERE WAS THE SCENE AT THE END WHERE HE NEEDED TO FAKE BEING A WOUNDED SOLDIER SO HE COULD EVENTUALLY MAKE CONTACT WITH FALCO ETC ETC. THE ABOSLUTE A N G U I S H. i can see why his eyes look completely dead. he's gone through so much.

ANYWAYS. that concludes this season.

also YES im very happy that theyre making attack on titan the final season part 3 despite the terrible naming (they knew this would happen why the heck did they do this to themselves). i dont care what anyone says. this series is legendary. i cannot WAIT for the ending (despite manga readers saying theyre disappointed with it). i wanna see how this beautiful series (canonically) marks its end.

As always spoiler warning for all of attack on titan. Im gonna talk about everything that we've seen thus far and also this is a psa to anyone that hasnt watched/read it yet to go watch pls and ty. also also this is a 2 part post bc i wanted to include many many screenshots from the anime but tumblr has a picture limit for posts so i need to split it agh

also i must specify that i am an anime only watcher so understand that all my opinions come from the eyes of someone that doesn't know everything abt the series.

LOOK AT THEM IN THEIR SUITS AND ISH AHHHHH THIS IS SUCH A GOOD LOOK FOR THEM

The girls looked so cute the whole time they were on the mainland having a good time 😭😭😭

and here we have the boys lookin hot and the trio havin the time of their lives 😌 and lookin good doing it too

PLSSSS THAT SMILE ON EREN'S FACE. SOMETHING THAT WE HAVENT SEEN IN SO SO SO LONG. And that was probably the last time he ever smiled. This was also probably a 'no thoughts, head empty' kind of night for him bc after that night,,, EVERYTHING would start. he wouldnt be able to indulge in peace anymore.

THAT FRAME OF THE TRIO MAKES ME SO SAD. they can never just go back to the way it was anymore especially after everything thats happened

AND OFC I GOTTA APPRECIATE THE HOTTEST CAPTAIN. AHHHHH LEVI LOOKED SO GOOD IN EVERY SINGLE FRAME HE WAS IN THIS EPISODE. we never got enough of this man in a suit. we only got it when he was recovering from his sprained ankle then this. I WISH WE HAD SO MUCH MORE BUT OH WELL. (wish i couldve included a frame of the clown scene but oh well this is fine THAT WAS SO FRICKIN HILARIOUS 😂😂😂 (also creepy but we dont talk abt it)

This concludes the nice light hearted (ish) part of the post :D now to move onto the not so fun stuff in the next :DDD
