Hello.
I still get requests and I think I finally put everywhere that my requests are closed at the moment but I thought I'd just say this like this as well so you know.
My requests are currently closed and I don't see them opening up any time soon due to my own issues and time restraints.
Probably will come back at some point and continue writing. Like, I'm still thinking about "Dream World" but I am in funk(tm)
Anyways. Love you. Take care of yourself and I'll see you

Dream World - A Sibling!Mutant!Reader Story - Part 8
GEN
Part 1| Prev Next
Pairings: None
Characters included: Raphael
Warnings: n/a
Series: Part 8
Summary: A small moment with Raph
Word count: 2938
Authors Note: I really had trouble with this chapter plus me being close to graduating and having to write my finals also got in the way, but I hope this means I can slolwy get back into this as well.
I really wanna finish this story, and don't worry things really will take on speed next chapter. Enough family fluff, it is time for some actual story beats, I am so sorry for being so slow with that haha
Tumblr media
Y/N groaned as they let themself fall down on the soft bed. Their muscles were still screaming at them, even after the warm shower and all Y/N could do was try to roll themselves further into the mattress and blanket. It took a good moment for them to settle down more comfortably between the pillows, not only due to their aching muscles, but also because of the shell on their back.
Once they were somewhat comfortable, they felt like they were sinking into the bed. Their eyes were fighting to stay open and honestly sleeping to avoid the pain sounded really nice about now.
When Leo realized that Y/N wasn’t putting on a brave face but was actually feeling up to train and work out, he really put them through the paces. He made them do all kinds of things to apparently test their reflexes, strength and so on. Hell, he even tested their grip strength.
At some point Mikey tried to intervene with the reasoning that they could test Y/N’s abilities over the course of the next days but no. No, Y/N had to interrupt him and assure him that it was fine. Well, it was fine at that moment.
Now, Y/N really wanted to strangle Past Y/N for this.
Their urge to prove themself seemed to be a constant. It made sense, they wanted to not waste time and get to the bottom of this weird mix up of a situation, but they still realized that this was probably not the best attitude to have.
A problem for future Y/N then.
Present Y/N’s job right now was to lay in their comfy bed and just rest. They had a warm shower, Mikey made some pasta that really hit the spot after the torture that was training, so, prime condition to just fall asleep and ignore all their worries for at least a few hours.
Yet, they couldn’t fall asleep.
It was inevitable, they supposed. After all they were currently laying in the bed of Y/N Hamato. This wasn’t their own room. It somehow felt like they were doing something forbidden.
Mikey must have some sort of sixth sense for these kinds of things when they hesitated to just walk into the subway car. He basically pushed them inside and while it wasn’t that late yet, he still wished them a good night.
And sure while they didn’t want to fight sleep in this instance, they still were a bit exasperated with how often they were currently sleeping. Leo said that this was something common for people when they were out for a while, especially considering that they were still not sure what exactly happened to them.
With a new huff of annoyance Y/N turned around so they weren’t staring at the metal wall anymore. Instead their eyes landed on the keyboard that was standing at the opposite side of the room. They were able to spot a few signs of wear on the buttons. Clearly the instrument was well loved.
If some of Hamato’s instincts for fighting got transferred to them, would they be able to play some of these instruments? That’s probably not how that worked.
Okay then, if sleep decided to elude them they might as well satisfy their own curiosity. This was their room after all, right? If they decided to take a closer look at the notebooks on the desk it shouldn’t be a problem, right?
Right.
Actually, they were sure the others in lair would support them doing this in hopes of probably triggering some sort of memories.
The word memories was slowly becoming the bane of their existence.
Either they apparently are loosing memories, or others keep telling their current memories were wrong or some foreign memories keep inserting themselves into their mind.
Stop. This was not the time to keep thinking in circles about things they wouldn’t be able to figure out anyhow. No, right now was snooping time.
Even as their poor muscles protested, Y/N kept their brave face on and slowly untangled themself from the green and supremely fluffy blanket. They were so brave to fight against the urge to just vegetate away on the bed until unconsciousness found them after all.
Once their feet hit the ground and they stood upright, they made sure to stretch themself. It was a fruitless motion to try to relief some of the soreness. Well it wasn’t entirely fruitless, stretching helps the blood and oxygen flow in the muscles which in return can help with the sores. But it wasn’t a cure that would solve the problem immediately.
Y/N walked over to the desk. The medical books, the notebooks and the laptop were still strewn about on the surface. A pen and one notebook were still laying on the desk next to the laptop as if someone just recently wrote in it. Y/N Hamato probably did.
They took in a deep breath and sat down on the office chair . Tentatively they pulled the notebook closer. It was the same they took a look in once before.
The writing on the first page displayed the name of the owner of this notebook and what it was for.
Y/N Hamato.
Research notes on biology and medicine.
Volume 35 … I think, most definitely not.
It was so weird to see these foreign words in your own handwriting. The next pages were a wild collection of all sorts of notes. The words mutagen, mysticism, ninpo and empyrean stood out to them. They were basically found on every page. Apparently these things were intrinsic to their own biology.
They would have loved to actually dive deeper into everything but their tired mind fought against it. Still, their eyes flew across a page to skim it.
And to their utter surprise; it made sense.
Sure, there were words they struggled to understand but they understood that this was particularly about the effect of a mystic overload on the body and how it can tear apart the body and theories on how exactly this happened. They were definitely more loose theories since there was a note right beneath, highlighted with green that said “Need to talk to Draxum! Important! Establish concrete connection of mysticism to biology!”
Right, Draxum created them. Made sense he would know a lot about their whole biological situation.
Y/N’s eyes wandered away from the page to land on the laptop in front of them.
Would it be rude to also snoop through the laptop? Wait, no, according to the others this was their laptop to begin with. No moral problems here.
When Y/N opened it up and clicked on the on button, they were pleasantly surprised with how fast it started it up. They just saw a purple logo for a small moment before the login screen appeared.
And their breath hitched.
The background picture of this screen was a selfie that Y/N Hamato took. There they were being held up by Raph who smushed his face against their cheek. Both Leo and Mikey pushed themselves into the frame from below, while they were smiling there was some strain visible. Probably due to the awkward angle and height of the phone camera. Donnie looked into the lens from above, he was sitting on Raph’s shell, a smile of his own decorated his face.
It was rare to see him show off a genuine smile instead of his smug one.
The picture radiated joy. A kind of weightless joy, shared by all five of them. And Y/N just stared. A sudden pang shot through their heart. They couldn’t explain what they were feeling. If it was jealousy or grief.
What were they doing? Snooping through this stuff was not okay. It really felt like they were invading Hamato’s privacy. All they did was just satisfy their own curiosity. This wouldn’t give them their answer.
And yet…
They should stop. Get their mind off this.
Y/N closed the laptop slowly. The room suddenly felt way too small. Too empty.
They pushed themselves up. Ignoring how once again their muscles screamed at them. The lair might still be a bit confusing to them but they knew where the kitchen was. Surely they would be able to grab a glass of water.
Exiting the subway car, Y/N slowly made their way towards the kitchen. From one corner of the lair they could hear a TV, they were sure they heard Leo giggle and some metal banging on metal, that was Donnie working probably.
When they entered the kitchen, they were surprised to spot Raph hunched over a huge plate of pasta. Y/N couldn’t help but stop in their tracks and stare at him. Him being a trained ninja and all, he immediately noticed Y/N as well and stopped chewing. His eyes going wide. With a loud gulp he swallowed the food down and pointed at Y/N with his fork “Don’t tell the others I’m the reason the leftovers are already gone.”
Y/N snorted “Alright, Raph. My lips are sealed. Promise.”
They will definitely hold up the promise but something told them the others will figure out the truth of the situation anyhow.
“Anyways, what’s up, Spots?”
Oh, yeah. They had a reason to be here.
“Just wanted to get a glass of water.”
Raph immediately got up from his chair.
“No! Raph! It’s fine I’m sure I can fill a glass with water myself.” They chuckled awkwardly at the end. It was nice that he wanted to help but they really didn’t want to interrupt his forbidden meal.
“Sit down. It’s just a glass of water. Let your big bro do this for you. We’ve really missed you in these two week, ya know.” His voice was gentle and the smile accompanied showed off his snaggle tooth.
He really was a gentle giant, huh?
“Sure.” Y/N slowly sat down on the chair opposite from where Raph sat before.
Raph grabbed a glass from the cupboard and filled it up with water from the sink. He walked back over and gently placed it in front of Y/N before sitting back down in front of his meal with a big smile.
Y/N grabbed the cool glass and took a slow sip from it. And here they thought they had drunk enough water after training for today.
Raph poked his pasta with his fork “So, what’s botherin’ you?”
Were they that easy to read? They looked up to be met by a knowing grin from Raph. It was almost like he was telling them that there was no room to wriggle out of this. He knew that something wasn’t right and he wouldn’t let this go.
Then again obviously Y/N was going through something at all times at the moment.
They sighed “I don’t know?”
At this, Raph only raised one side of his brow ridge. He really won’t let this slide, huh? But explaining exactly what was going on meant that they had to admit to snooping.
Embarrassed Y/N looked to the side, their right hand massaging their left “Well, uh, I couldn’t sleep. So, I thought I could maybe look at the, you know, my things? Like the notebooks or the laptop.”
Raph nodded encouragingly, egging them on to continue. Though Y/N had to suppress a small chuckle when they saw Raph immediately shoveling more food into his mouth. He seemed so encouraging and trusting only to sheepishly eat more of the off limits food.
“I really don’t know what I expected but when I saw the lock screen on the laptop I just kind of felt alone. It was a selfie of you a- of us all and I don’t know. It’s so weird. I don’t know what I am feeling besides that it’s not a nice feeling.”
“Actually,” Raph begun after once again swallowing the food “I can kind of relate? Not in the same sense obviously but kinda. You know how I- wait no you don’t, right. Uh, I get angry real easy and while I can identify the emotion I can’t always tell why I get angry. So I guess we are on the opposite end of the spectrum. But usually when I struggle with this I talk with you all about it to help try to figure out what exactly is going. Not all the time but when it feels distressing enough, it helps to talk it out. Wanna try it? I can get Mikey for this as well, he is really good at it.”
Y/N shook their head after taking another sip from their water. While it definitely wasn’t the same problem as they had, it did feel nice to speak to someone who could relate somewhat.
“It’s fine. I wasn’t sure what I was trying to accomplish by going through it all anyhow. Just gave in to my curiosity.”
“Don’t worry about it. I mean if we believe Donnie’s theory then there is a chance your actual memories are buried beneath the memories you have at the moment. Maybe looking through your things would have triggered for some to surface more.”
Man, they really hit the nail on the head before, huh. Seems like they were slowly getting a real read on these people. Not that it helped their guilty conscience.
“Besides,” he continued “we kind of keep telling you what you are supposed to know, so I can understand wanting to look into it all more. Don’t feel guilty about it.”
Y/N’s eyes widened “Guilty?”
Raph let out an amused huff “It’s written all over your face.”
“Oh.”
“Those are literally your things but if it helps you, the Y/N I know would be more than okay with this.” He dropped the fork in favor of getting up from the chair once again only to step over towards Y/N this time.
“It still feels weird. The Y/N you know just seems like a completely different person to me.” Because they are but Y/N didn’t have the energy to debate that with Raph or any of the others.
“Can I give you a hug?”
Y/N just nodded. They just felt so emotionally drained.
He immediately enveloped them with his arms and Y/N couldn’t help but nuzzle more against his plastron. He was just so warm and comfy and safe. It was like nothing could get to them or hurt them. The weird pang in their heart seemed to dull as Raph squeezed them softly.
“Things are confusing and probably will stay confusing. You can talk to us though and we can try to decipher what is happening but if you don’t want to do that right now, we can do something else. Do you wanna try sleeping again?”
They shook their head “No, I’m not sure what I wanna do.”
While they couldn’t see Raph at the moment they could feel him nodding while slowly beginning to rock them. A quiet churring noise seemed to emanate from his chest that lulled them even deeper into this sense of safety. It was as if he was assuring them that they were safe and okay with just this noise alone. His hugs have to be magic. They can’t explain this sudden calmness inside them. It was as if he just squeezed the anxiety right out of them even if they didn’t even know where it came from in the first place. Magic. That had to be the reason.
Was this what it felt like to have an older sibling? If so they really could get used to this.
“Hey Raph.”
“Yeah?”
“ ‘m got a question. Do you know my password for my laptop?”
Somehow this made Raph chuckle “Even after this you wanna try again? Want to learn more about yourself after all?”
Y/N didn’t even get to answer before Raph spoke again. It was more of a rhetorical question after all.
“But no I don’t. Donnie can help you probably. Want to ask him and when you get access to your laptop, do you wanna go through it together? I can maybe give context to some things, I know you saved a lot of medical information on there and Raph is definitely not smart enough for that but if we look at pictures or so I can tell you when we took it and so on.”
That actually sounded inviting. Ignoring that they were simply just trying to understand Hamato more and satisfy their own curiosity, it would give them something to do. A small, quiet part of their mind also supplied, that this way they could maybe try to calm some of the families worries as well. There were probably plenty of things Y/N and Hamato had in common, maybe that could settle some of the anxieties and fears of the others. But then again that felt very much like lying and just generally amoral.
Agh. Emotions. They suck.
Still, maybe something would come out of all of this. Raph’s idea really sounded like… a solid thing to do, yes. Though, they couldn’t help but wonder.
“Can- Can you hug me like this when we do look at it together?”
They were so happy their face was currently pressed against Raph’s plastron because they could feel the heat of embarrassment spread across their face and neck. They didn’t mean to blurt that out like that. Sure, they liked the hug but asking for another like that just felt embarrassing. It made them feel like a little child.
He squeezed them for a moment “Always. What else are big brothers for? If I can help, I will. No matter what, when or how.”
“That so?”
“Yep. That’s a promise.”

Hihi! Can you do a 2012 Leo × dragon fem!reader?
think a tall, eastern dragon. Gold/yellow colored scales. While not incredibly strong, super stealthy and cunning. Very sneaky. Definitely a fighter, but rather than hitting with full force, she hits lethally in weak areas when in battle.
She values intelligence and strategy rather than strength... before getting mutated, she was studying for a PhD in astrophysics, but those plans were thrown out the window. She gets along well with Donatello, but favors Leo... much to his disdain!
I always had a feeling Leo wouldn't like her much because of her manipulative, sort of honorless attitude, but he grows on her...
Big momma bear vibes. I always thought it'd be like the vibes of the dragon from shrek. Absolutely ruthless and vile when it comes to protecting her family (now, the turtles!) Very quippy- quick with her words, practically spits venom metaphorically when angered, instead of responding physically.
sorry for the specificness! Practically a story I’ve already written lol. Always wanted to write for her just don't have the time!
I know it's been a while since you sent this in 😔 Sent it in right as my finals began so I was busy studying and so on but since I have time I would love to still write for this!

Leo was a mutated turtle stuck in the sewers hiding away from humans, hearing that you would correctly assume that he wouldn’t be too interested in flowers. Frankly he had better things to be doing than trying to scrounge up some plants and try to find a way to keep them alive in a place with almost to none natural sunlight. Sure, Donnie definitely had some sort of special lamps that basically did the same as the sun for plants since he did have an interest in agriculture and botany but that was Donnie. Leo didn’t particularly care about these things.
Leo loved video games, movies and don’t tell the others but he did actually enjoy training and honing his skills. He just didn’t particularly liked to get up for training but he did immensely enjoy the results of it.
So, why was it that he was currently looking through an old geology book where he stored his pressed flowers? Leo? Pressing flowers? This was definitely not a very Leo hobby if you asked others. Not for the teleporting Ninja Master that managed to send big alien gum looking monsters back to a prison dimension with the help of his equally skilled family years ago.
And Leo would agree. Normally he’d admit immediately that this was not his cup of tea, so to speak. Flowers were pretty but that’s about it.
Then how did he manage to accumulate a small collecting of a colorful array of flowers?
That answers was Y/N.
Y/N was quiet and introverted. The brothers met her when they were running away from the villain of the week only find a very scared human hunkering down in an alleyway, hugging a thick book against her chest.
Humans in New York? Normal. A human in the Hidden City? Not so much. Not impossible but not normal.
When the villain of the week inevitably caught up with the brothers, they had no choice but string along this obviously out of place human. After some smart thinking on Leo’s part, Mikey would argue with him about this because he was the one who apparently gave him the idea to lead the monstrous yokai towards the pirate bay for the pirates to deal with it in their anger when he destroyed their ship mast, they dealt with the villain and could deal with the human.
No surprise there Y/N wound up in the Hidden City accidentally and was immensely overwhelmed when they were suddenly surrounded by a myriad of mythical and magical beings. Obviously the brothers explained to her what was going on and that she was actually kind of safe as long as she just left most yokai in peace. They then helped her back to New York and since it was already daytime Raph called April to ask her if she could walk the very rattled Y/N back to her apartment.
Honestly Leo should have predicted that April took the chance to befriend the human since Y/N now knew that mutants, yokais and a hidden city beneath New York existed. He knew April had no qualms about having mostly non-human friends, but it must be still nice to have a friend with whom she can go out for food and doesn’t need to worry about their disguise, and should she get a call that one of the Hamatos needed her help with something, she didn’t need to come up with a lie. Most of the time anyways. Sometimes the brothers did stupid stuff she just didn’t want to bombard the timid Y/N with.
It didn’t take long for Y/N to come visit the Hamato household together with April now and again. It took some time and even convincing but she even begun visiting them all on her own. Her shyness usually stopped her from doing so.
This shyness was also the reason why Leo had basically a full bouquet of flowers hidden inside this old and forgotten geology book.
As they soon learned Y/N was shy but loved flowers. Whenever the brothers or April did something nice for her for example, she gifted them a flower. It took Donnie a moment but he soon realized that she gave them these flowers depending on their meaning. This way she could express things like trust and happiness and even her support while her voice failed due to her nerves.
Mikey immediately rolled with this using his culinary talents to do the same for her. When she felt down, he made food to soothe and calm her down. Often cooking her favorite dishes especially when she fought through her shyness and managed to do things like call the bank since there was a problem or something and needed her to call back.
Raph used his knitting abilities to make her things like mittens, hats and even sweaters for her to cuddle into. Combine this with his certified Big Brother Hugs™ that had the ability to melt any worries away he and Y/N could sometimes be found in the projector room watching a movie together while Raph silently taught Y/N how to knit while she sat securely against his chest.
Donnie was probably the person who could relate to her problems with other people the most. He immediately noticed when she was overwhelmed, dragged her to his lab, placed her in a corner that usually his brothers occupied hence why there was a beanbag, blankets and pillows and handed her one of his certified Genius Tech™ headphones while he returned to work on one of his projects. They might not actively interact with each other, but they still built a bond of trust. Both kind of became each other person they could just retreat to when people and socializing was too much, but they also didn’t want to be necessarily alone.
But Leo was struggling to really connect with Y/N. Don’t get him wrong the two were friends and hung out a lot but there wasn’t something the two did together. Not like his brothers and April with Y/N.
That was until he took a day to wander through the Hidden City alone to see what else there was to discover and he managed to find hidden inside a scary looking forest a beautiful patch of grass covered in all sorts of colorful and no doubt magical flowers. His mind immediately jumped to Y/N and how she no doubt would love this place.
He closed the book carefully, not wanting to destroy the carefully pressed gifts to place said book back on his shelf.
He didn’t know why he was so anxious to ask Y/N if she wanted to go into Hidden City with him. He was the face man! He once managed to fool a human chef even while poisoned and probably talking gibberish without a disguise! That’s how good he is!
Besides it’s flowers! Flowers she probably has never seen! He was sure she would love it!
Using this bout of confidence, that was definitely there since forever and actually he didn’t need to take advantage of a ‘bout of confidence’, that’s stupid, he grabbed his phone and clicked on her contact to text her.
“Chello~ Got some time? Wanna show you something cool!”
Should he add emojis? Like some flowers? Would that spoil the surprise? Would that be cheesy? A simple smirking emoji would be the correct choice. Wait, no, that kinda looks weird together with the message. Screw it. Send it as is.
It took a bit but Y/N responded, calming down his anxiety immediately.
The text immediately started with a happy emoji
“Yeah, I have time! Just finished studying! Need me to come down?”
Oh, right! She was studying for an upcoming exam since she was in university for botany.
“Nice!” This time a thumbs up seemed appropriate.
“Mind if I just teleport to you since it’s in the Hidden City and I want to teleport us there anyways. No need to walk all the way if I can just use my awesome skillz”
The answer this time was immediate from Y/N.
“Sure. You can portal here!”
That’s all he needed to grab one of his sword and slice through the air. A familiar blue circle appearing in front of him. Head empty, he walked in to come out inside Y/N’s bedroom. She was still sitting at her desk, hunched over phone. A pen in her mouth.
“On the phone while studying? Is that a good idea?” Leo joked, mostly to try to get her attention so she wouldn’t be spooked to suddenly see him.
She still tensed up with wide eyes, the pen falling on the floor as she turned around to spot the turtle in her room. The shock immediately was replaced with a fond smile.
“H-hi! Already here!”
Leo nodded, walking over to lean on her chair. Looking over her shoulder to scrutinize whatever she was working on. Okay there were a lot of words on a paper and hastily drawn graphs or something. Yeah, no, he checked out.
He still hummed approvingly as if he was looking over work and found it was all correct.
Y/N raised one of her eyebrows at this and huffed out an amused breath “Well, what did you want to show me?”
Leo pushed himself away from the chair and look Y/N over. Clothes? Check. Shoes? Nope. He frowned.
“We can’t go if you don’t wear shoes, Petal. Socks won’t do.”
Her face immediately burned up. He sometimes used that nickname solely to tease het with it since somehow this name seemed to break Y/N.exe every time. This has earned him a handful of times some pulls by his bandana tail by her. Almost if she wanted to pull on his ear or hair if he had any.
She grumbled embarrassed and wandered out the room only to reappear a minute later with her shoes on.
Leo clapped his hands together “Perfect! Let’s go!”
Once again he sliced through the air and opened another pulled. This time he didn’t mindlessly walk through the portal. No, this time he made sure to grab Y/N’s hand before mindlessly walking through the blue swirl. At this point he was really confident that his portals delivered him to the place he wants.
Bigger stretches of space could be a bit tricky if he couldn’t directly see the goal but he has been working on it.
Luckily, he didn’t embarrass himself this time by teleporting him and her to Spain or something.
With a soft thud he and Y/N arrived at the flower field. His portal hasn’t even fully disappeared into thin air he already heard Y/N excitedly gasp.
“Oh my god! Look at these flowers! They are so pretty! Oh my god!”
She was happily flapping her hands, turning around to Leo with huge glistening eyes and a faint blush across her cheeks. Her smile reached her eyes, crinkling the corners of her eyes. Leo hoped he wouldn’t forget that expression of her since it was so full of pure joy it elevated his own heart and made a happy grin appear on his face as well.
He nervously scratched the back of his neck “Yeah, I was kind of just walking around and found this. Thought you might enjoy this place.”
Y/N was clearly fighting to let proper words fumble through her joy but also shyness until she finally nodded “Enjoy? I love!”
She said it surprisingly softly with a slight wobble to her voice which somehow conveyed her happiness even more if she would have yelled it out.
Shakily she grabbed Leo’s hand that hung uselessly next to him and pulled him to the middle of the patch only to sit down on the soft ground. Her eyes scanned the whole place until they finally landed on the blue flowers close to her legs. Almost as if she was scared the flowers would break under her touch she soft traced the stem and then the petals.
To be fair they were in the Hidden City Leo wouldn’t be surprised if suddenly one of the flowers tried to eat them. Maybe this was a bad idea after all? But when he looked her happy expression, the small little moments where she couldn’t help herself but flap her hands due to happiness, he couldn’t help but decide that this was a risk worth taking. Besides he was here. He could deal with anything and protect her.
So here he was. Sitting next to Y/N while she inspected the flowers all around them. A, probably magical, sun shining down on them, bathing the two in warmth. It was calm, hell, it was peaceful.
“Hey, Y/N.” Leo tried to get her attention.
Y/N looked over at him and once again his heart seemed to twist at the beautiful expression of hers.
“You know I just realized. I don’t know how you make one of those flower crown things. Never had the chance to really try it out.” It was a random thought that jumped out to him but he couldn’t help to bring it up.
Weirdly enough Y/N looked almost sad for a moment before some determination jumped through “I’ll show you. It’s easier than you might realize.”
With that Leo turned properly towards Y/N. So that his whole body was now facing her and not just his face. She mirrored his behavior only to get up for a second and begin to gather an array of blue and white flowers. The petals of these flowers were big but thin. When Y/N dropped them in his lap he was sure they would have to be pretty heavy but these flowers were actually quite light.
With that Y/N softly begun showing and explaining to Leo how to make a flower crown. How to braid them all together. She often tripped over her own words, a wobble sometimes appearing when she misspoke or felt like she just made a mistake.
Leo made a point of complimenting her work or making some joke to alleviate her worries. It seemed to work as she continued working.
In the end the two had each a blue and white flower crown. Y/N’s looked naturally amazing while Leo was amazed that his seemed to somehow hold together. Hey as long as it’s not immediately falling apart! Seems like a win to him!
Y/N stared at her flower crown. Slowly turning it around. Leo was about to ask what was on her mind but she begun speaking on her own.
“Thank you. Th-Thank you for bringing me to this place.” He could see her tensing for a moment when she fumbled the word. “It really cheered me up. I think I needed it after being stuck at home studying for days. Thank you, L-Leo.”
A soft smile stretched across Leo’s face “Of course. When I saw this place, I immediately had to think of you. Figured you’d love it here.”
This made Y/N finally look up again with a new softness in her eyes he saw very rarely. His breath hitched as he finally saw this look from close up. Whatever this emotion was she was conveying with her eyes and poster, it filled him with a warm feeling.
With an uncertain smile and shaky hands she suddenly moved her flower crown and softly placed it on Leo’s head. She was so carefully moving as if he was a scared wild animal that would sprint off into the woods any second it made his heart squeeze.
He was a ninja that saved the world a couple times by now. Hell, he could probably snap her bones if he really wanted to due to the strength from his mutation. His strength didn’t come close to that of Raph but still, he was positive he still could. And yet, Y/N treated him as if he was fractured glass and she didn’t want to break him.
Heat rose to his neck and face. He couldn’t help but think if he was a human and had ears, would his ears also burn up? Just like Y/N’s right now. It was cute.
And as her hands slowly fell down. She had to stretched up to place the flower crown on his head since he was taller than her even while sitting. Y/N slowly moved back down to sit back down on the ground properly only to stop midway through. Her face right in front of his, determination burning in her eyes, contrasting her burning cheeks.
And with a slight grin she moved forward, placing a soft kiss on his snout only to fall back down on the soft ground.
It happened so fast Leo needed a moment to wrap his head around this action.
“Bwuh”
Eloquent Leonardo Hamato. Nicely said. Less is more as they say.
Y/N was at this point kneading her own hands, a nervous habit, but she was still smiling!
“Seriously. Thank you. Thi-This means a ton to me.”
Leo’s voice failed him. He opened his mouth but nothing came out, only a high pitched whine that he immediately strangled by snapping his mouth shut so fast and strong his teeth clicked together.
Almost as if he was a robot he moved his own shoddy flower crown towards Y/N and robotically placed it on her head. She had to move it a bit around, so it wasn’t tilted on her head.
“Yeah. No problem.” Leo finally managed to whisper. His voice sounded strangled. Almost as if he was talking right after Raph punched him accidentally really hard in his stomach during training.
Y/N’s embarrassed mind must have finally won over since she twirled around and laid down on the ground to look up “Le-Let’s just, uh, Let’s just enjoy the sun?”
He nodded and laid down next to her “Yeah. Let’s chill.”
And as they laid there, he made a point of not showing a strong reaction towards her hand slowly grasping his, scared she’d recoil and take her soft hand back.

Hello! 😊
Can I request a fluffy long oneshot with prompts: "T-thank you for taking me to a beautiful f-flower field you found, L-leo.", [she gently puts her flower crown on his head then she shyly gives her sweet kiss on his nose made his face went crimson red] and [she says sweetly, "You look so adorable in my flower crown, Leo." Then she gives her shy gentle smile to him made his face went redder at her cuteness.] about Rottmnt Leo taking his shy!female!human!reader to a flower field he found at Hidden City because he knows she likes flowers a lot? Like she teaches Leo how to make a flower crown? How would Leo reacts to his shy!female!human!reader puts her flower crown on his head then she shyly gives her sweet kiss on his nose? I really love to see Leo's blushing reaction to it! 😆 I live for flustered Leo! 💘 Please??

You also need to create an account which is a bit annoying but it lets you do all kinds of fake things like texts and tweets even fake Netflix shows etc

In Your Arms | 2k12!Leonardo x Rabbit Mutant Reader
Male
Pairings: Leonardo x Reader
Characters included: Leonardo
Warnings: attempted suicide via fall (failed)
Series: One shot
Summary: “It’s been exactly a year ago when we met.” He tried to add a chuckle. Probably to force it into a more lighthearted conversation but it felt empty and rough. Almost desperate even.
Now everything made more sense. Leo took his plate and that of Y/N and placed it on the little table next to the couch. He then positioned himself more towards Y/N, his hand resting on Y/N’s shoulder, slowly pulling on it. It was an invitation. If Y/N wanted he could lean in and take the comfort he needed. Fall apart and let Leo hold him together for the moment.
Y/N’s breath audibly hitched. Already knowing exactly what Leo was doing and without much fuss he leaned towards him. His forehead rest on the crook of the turtles neck as he wrapped his arms around him. Holding on to him with a strong grip. As if he would wash away if he didn’t hold on to him.
Word count: 2866
Authors Note: I am currently a bit in a 2k12 mood but I don't remember too much but I still wanted to write a small hurt/comfort piece
Tumblr media
“Hey slowpoke. Nice of you to finally turtle your way over here.”
Leo rolled his eyes as he pushed himself through the opening of the treehouse. This greeting has sadly become routine whenever he and Y/N met at his home. This treehouse was close to one of the junkyards hence why most of the materials used to build it was out of rusted metal. He can just hear Donnie in the back of his head worrying about tetanus.
As he placed his good knee on the ground, Y/N was already there pulling on him, using his surprising strength to pull him up to his feet.
“You know compared to you most are slow.” He huffed out, closing the trapdoor to the very comfortable treehouse. Over the time Y/N managed to pull a lot of furniture and like in. He still didn’t know how exactly he did it and whenever he asked him about it all he got was “I’m pretty strong, my dude.”
Y/N placed his furred hands onto his shell, slowly moving him along to the couch. Leo just followed along and sat down on the tacky blue and gray sofa. The gray stripes probably used to be white.
“What’s up with you today?” he asked, one of his eyebrows raised as he finally took a proper look at the rabbit mutant.
The mutant had his floppy rabbit ears up into something like a ponytail. According to him when they just hang down on the side of his head they just get in the way. Which was true probably but Leo still thought that it kind of suited him when he didn’t pull his ears back.
Y/N moved his two hands in front of him and pointed each of his pointer finger up as a sign to get his attention but also to tell him to wait for a second. Immediately he turned around and jogged to the small kitchen he had hidden in a nook. His clawed feet making a sort of tinkling noise as they scraped along the metal ground.
When he returned, he held a plate with food in each of his hands. It looked like a pasta dish. A messy pasta dish.
“I made incredibly mediocre lasagna.”
Leo chuckled at that “Oh wow. Mediocre lasagna is my favorite.”
Y/N looked at him with an incredibly deadpanned expression, placing one plate with knife and fork onto the turtle’s lap “No it’s not. It’s pizza and don’t try to deny that.”
Leo poked his fork into the food “Well eating something different every now and again is nice as well. Bet it’s not as mediocre as you think it is.”
“Again. You almost exclusively eat pizza. I’m not sure your opinion counts on how other food should taste but still. Even if this is not perfect, I made it. I can’t believe I actually remembered my dad’s recipe.”
His voice tapered off a bit at the end. The topic of his family has always been a sore spot. He obviously tried to grow past that, but this seemed to be a wound that wouldn’t fully close no matter what.
Before he could wallow more in his own spiraling thoughts, Leo finally tried the food. It was good! The texture was nice, and the sauce was actually pretty good. Leo would definitely put it at least slightly above mediocre.
He bumped his shoulder against Y/N’s “This is pretty good!”
“Hah. Thanks.” Instead of taking a bite himself he just poked his food with his own fork.
Leo looked at him slowly. Y/N’s eyes were downcast. He kept biting his own lip while his leg kept bouncing.
“I’m guessing you didn’t just ask me to come over for me to try out your food?”
Truth be told he figured it wouldn’t be just about this. The message he received from Y/N was way too timid. When asking Leo if he wanted to chill with him for the day he gave him multiple times to decline the offer which just set of the alarm bells inside of Leo’s head. Something was up but he figured Y/N would bring it up himself if he wanted to.
Over the year he has gotten to know him he learned a bit about how to approach him when his worries took over. Y/N loved companionship when his mind kept spinning but he also didn’t like to burden others. Luckily Leo was a bit of a special case and Y/N didn’t feel too bad when he reached out to him.
Y/N pulled on one of his ears “I, uh, yeah. Do you know that it’s been a year now?”
When Leo only looked at him quizzically, Y/N continued. His eyes darting away onto the plate on his lap.
“It’s been exactly a year ago when we met.” He tried to add a chuckle.
“In hindsight this should be a happy memory, shouldn’t it? After all I got to meet you.” His whispery voice wavered.
Leo’s hands rested on his back and head. Slowly drawing circles and scratching the place where his ears connected with his head. Even while a few rogue sobs suddenly wracked through he body he seemed to melt into Leo. He was undoubtedly trying to suppress his outburst. Trying to stifle and sniffles and sobs that might accidentally leave his throat.
It was exactly a year ago when Leo met Y/N. And what a meeting it was.
Leo was out in the city, needing some fresh air. He loved his family but even he needed sometimes a moment for himself.
He was as per usually running along the roofs of the city, trying to look for a nice place to let his mind wander when he noticed a figure on a roof opposite to him. They stood close to the edge. Staring down. Normally Leo wouldn’t have hesitated to hide, he did not want to be spotted by a human while he was out alone, but he could tell pretty fast that this wasn’t a human but a mutant.
The bent legs and the big ears hanging of the person’s head were a pretty big giveaway. Still only because he was a fellow mutant did not mean that he would have a positive reaction upon seeing Leo.
Yet Leo couldn’t move away. The way the rabbit mutant stared down. His eyes seemed so transfixed and shiny. Something in him made him stay.
And just as the first tear rolled down the rabbit mutant’s eyes, he took a step forward. Leo’s thoughts flew through his head way too fast to make out one coherent one. His body still reacted on instinct. Pushing against the rough surface of the flat rooftop to jump and take a leap off it towards the now falling mutant.
The mutant wasn’t even screaming.
Leo’s body collided with the others in midair. With his sword in his hand he managed to somehow angle it and slot it into the fire escape close by but all it did was dampen the fall somewhat. The two were too heavy and Leo’s hands slipped off his sword handle.
Using his acrobatics and knowledge on how to dampen falls he tried to roll himself and the mutant along the road. Landing on his feet only to curl around the rabbit and roll on the ground. Even if he tried his best to soften the fall he could already tell that his ankles and knees hated him for this.
When Leo finally skidded to a stop he moved up, now sitting on the ground. The mystery mutant pretty much in his lap. Staring up at him with huge and wet eyes. His expression sometimes pulled down to frown only to soften again. It was clear he was trying to make heads and tails of what just happened.
Leo’s katana finally joined his owner on the ground of the alley. Clattering way too loud onto the ground.
But Leo kept staring at the rabbit mutant who in return just kept staring at him.
He didn’t know what exactly possessed him to say it but with the best smile he could muster he said “It’s fine. I’ve got you.”
This somehow broke the damn for the rabbit. His eyes immediately filling with fresh tears that he let roll down into his fur. His lips quivering, biting down on them as a sob seemed to try its best to fight through him.
The absolute desperation and sadness in his expression hit Leo like an arrow right into his chest. He pulled him towards himself, wrapping his arms tentatively around his shoulders, giving his back a few soft pats “It’s alright. You’re not alone.”
And finally, the rabbit let out his sobs without trying to let them die in his throat. His body shook with every huge gulp of air he took as he held onto Leo’s shell.
It took minutes until the rabbit was calm enough again that Leo could hear him apologizing in between tears and sobs.
“Don’t worry. This is what I do.”
The apologies then turned into words of appreciation.
When he calmed even further down, he shakily let go of the turtle and crawled off his lap to lean against one of the brick walls.
Leo didn’t move away from his place on the ground, instead he kept smiling at the other one and to his surprise the mutant returned it.
“Hi. I’m Leonardo but call me Leo.”
“Hi. I’m Y/N.” he answered as he dried his eyes with the sleeves of his blue hoodie.
And the two just kept watching each other. This was definitely not the normal way to meet someone else. Hell, Leo did not expect for anything like this to happen while he tried to flee his family for an hour or two.
And then a dry chuckle. Y/N begun at first chuckling weekly only to let out one or two actual laughs.
Leo couldn’t help but chuckle along.
“I’m sorry.” Y/N spoke “It’s just so ridiculous. This whole situation. I guess, um, thank you again for this. I think.”
“Can I ask you why?”
There was no point in asking what Y/N was trying to do. He was pretty sure he could tell what his plan was.
Y/N sighed. Suddenly he seemed so tired. Even with the fur around his eyes Leo was sure he could spot dark bags beneath them.
“Because I was alone.”
“Alone?” Leo parroted.
He nodded “Yeah. These weird… these… squishy pink alien motherfuckers they took… they took me and I got out somehow. I don’t remember everything. I just- I couldn’t… I was scared to go back to my family. I feel like I’d just put them in danger. Runaway experiment and all. But I just can’t- I am so scared at all times and hurt and lonely.”
The silence that fell on the two felt heavy.
Y/N continued “Can’t believe the day I wanted to get away from all this I meet another mutant. I suppose that’s irony… But, uh, thank you for listening and sorry for just putting this on you.”
Leo shook his head “Don’t worry. I asked you after all. Thank you for telling me.”
“Well, you did throw yourself down a building to catch me. Least I can do is tell you why you had to do that. By the way that was kinda impressive.”
“Thanks.” Leo responded. The silence now returning between the two.
Y/N kept staring up into night sky. His limbs laying on the ground limp next to his body. Once again Leo had to think that he just looked so exhausted.
“When was the last time you ate?”
Leo’s voice roused Y/N back out of his thoughts. His eyes lazily darting back to the turtle only to shrug “Don’t- Don’t worry about me. You can go about your night. At least I know I’m not the only mutant in the city. So, uh, ya, thanks and I won’t keep you.”
With a huff Leo stood up. His legs were a bit shaky since the adrenaline seemed to slowly leave him. He walked over to grab his trusty katana and sheath it again.
Hand outstretched towards Y/N, he spoke again “Well, this is definitely one hell of a first meeting but how about we grab a bite to eat, and I’ll tell you about all the other mutants I know?”
Y/N tilted his head “There are more?”
He chuckled “Yep. And I can already think of a few that would love to meet you, I bet. Especially one of my brothers. He has the tendency to make friends wherever he goes.”
Finally Y/N put his hand into Leo’s, pulling himself up only for Leo to realize that he was a good few inches taller than him. Something in him made him pout at that.
“Well, you seem to be pretty good at that as well.”
Suddenly Y/N pulled his head to the side, moving with one hand one of his floppy ears over his mouth in embarrassment which was kind of a cute reaction in Leo’s opnion “Sorry. Didn’t mean to say we are friends, we just-“
“Let’s become friends then.”
It took a while for Y/N to be more confident around Leo but with the help of his brothers, especially Mikey’s, Y/N seemed to open up more. It seemed to really help him to know that there were others like him. Be it animals that turned into mutant or humans that turned into mutants.
Still, as much as Y/N got to hang out with the hamatos or even the Mutanimals, Leo seemed to always have a special place for him. When one of them had problems they would always default to speak to the other.
Whenever a big mission came up and Leo was scared that his preparations weren’t enough, Y/N talked it through with him. He would offer a hug for comfort and let the turtle ramble while Y/N asked questions and offer his own thoughts. Show appreciation and belief in his abilities to lead and fight. Or after missions when one of his brother’s got hurt or something else went wrong, Y/N would just offer to be by his side. To not let him wallow alone in his misery and often enough that alone helped him more than he realized.
Y/N didn’t know how to fight but he was always there after missions. Offering food, he prepared or helping with patching the family up.
The same counted for Y/N though. Being around each other helped to calm the storm in each other’s mind. It was the utter belief and trust they managed to build for each other.
When Y/N spotted Kraang too close to him, Leo was there in a matter of minutes. Showing him that none of those robots would be able to lay a finger on him anymore as long as Leo was there.
So when the anniversary for Y/N, what he considered his lowest moment, arrived. Leo did not hesitate to hold the other in his arms and let him release his emotions. Let him sob and cry and cling on to him.
Leo buried his face against Y/N’s head. Silently whispering things to him to encourage him to just release all the pent-up emotions. Continuously telling him that he is doing more than good and that he will never be alone.
How could he be alone? Leo was there and Leo would come over running in a heartbeat if Y/N so much scratched his knee.
He pressed a soft kiss against Y/N’s temple “It’s okay to feel sad. It’s okay to grief for your old life. And no matter what, I am here and I won’t leave you. Even if things aren’t perfect at least know you don’t have to walk through it all alone anymore.”
As a response Y/N nodded against Leo’s shoulder. Moving his head to the side to give him a chaste kiss against his throat only to release him to smush his cheeks together and press his lips against Leo’s.
“You are too nice. You know exactly how to cheer me up.” He chuckled as he released the turtle. Leo pressed his forehead against that of Y/N’s, a huge smile on his face as he spotted Y/N properly smiling again “So do you, Y/N. Only you.”

Hey if you don't mind waiting a longer time you can request some fics because I have like one or two weeks away from exams (before having to study again) and if you don't mind waiting I am open to write requests again
You may always ask me if I took on your request or not because frankly betwen all my work, adhd and so on I am a bit forgetful
If you request it so I could also message you in private if I did and or tag you later once it's out/message you
I am still very unsure on how to approach requests because back in the day I added the fic right under the request but tumblr is a bit broken when it comes to asks often so I like to make a seperate post
If you have any ideas or wishes on how i can handle it better I am always here to listen! I'm generally here as well if you wanna tell me things. My asks are always open and so are my dms! Even if you just want to infodump! I love talking to people even if i am awkward
anyways, I love you, I hope you have a good day and see you and also treat this a sign to do something nice for yourself, okay? Maybe eat some candy because I know you are doing good and you deserve to get at least a small reward for that! 💙🐏

ARIA - Autonomous Research Interactive Assistant | AI!Reader in the Krang Apocalypse - Part 2
GEN
Part 1
Pairings: None
Characters included: Future!Donatello, Future!Michelangelo, Future!S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N, Future!Leonardo, Future!Raphael, Future!April
Warnings: n/a
Series: Part 2
Summary: Aria is slowly growing into their own person with the help of their father, uncles and of course brother Shelldon.
Word count: 3509
Authors Note: I admittedly was sitting on these parts for a while so here second chapter already haha
Tumblr media
As expected Aria learned and assimilated themself easily into their new environment. Of course, they were at the start very matter of factly and took everything literally but that was to be expected. Donnie did of course program them with the ability to recognize emotions and being able to detect things like sarcasm easier but putting down the theory on that alone can still not compare really to doing it in practice.
It helped a ton that Shelldon immediately took on the job of supervising them, explaining to his creator that he probably knew best how to teach them and show them how things worked. How could Donnie argue with that? Shelldon literally was in the same boat as Aria.
So when Donnie did enough tests and felt like their robot body worked up to his specifications, he wanted to properly show his new invention around the base to make sure they can find their way and recognize the few people he put into their databank.
Aria introduced themself to everyone “Hello. I am the Autonomous Research Interactive Assistant, but you may also call me Aria. It is nice to meet you. I will be able to answer any inquiries you have. How may I help you?”
It was Shelldon who told them that they don’t have to say out loud that they created a new register and will keep updating it whenever they interact with the new person. That was better left unsaid. It made people feel watched and paranoid and paranoia was in abundance in this apocalyptic world.
Most reacted positive to the new robot though. At this point everyone knew that Donnie was pretty much able to create miracles if he had the resources, so to see a new sentient robot walking around really wasn’t that crazy. While they reacted positively there was still a smidge of hesitancy that was natural ever since the Krang took over.
While the Krang were organic, to the point of their technology even being an organic being, they still deployed monsters into the wild that were basically robots with glowing red eyes. But the people knew. The people knew that technology that was branded with the GeniusTech logo was safe.
His family though didn’t have this same hesitant reaction. They knew that Donnie’s inventions were safe, even after years where they had to “fix his fixes” over and over again. Even so, they trusted Donnie and to that extent his tech unconditionally. Sometimes this realization crept up on Donnie and he couldn’t help but feel warm deep inside his chest.
When they walked past Leo, Donnie stopped him in his tracks. Leo knew of his project but hadn’t had the chance to interact with it yet.
Shelldon happily stood next to his robot sibling and stretched his hands towards them, doing jazz hands as he presented them to Leo “Look at them! That’s Aria! My new sibling who knows everything Donnie knows!”
Leonardo snorted out a huff of air at the excited behavior of Shelldon. His eyes rose to Donnie once with a raised eyebrow before he knelt down to offer his hand to Aria.
Donnie rolled his eyes, he wanted to say that this was unnecessary, but he chose to hold back. Instead, he just watched Leo as Aria went through their introduction spiel once again. The way his older twin brother smiled and begun asking questions as to what exactly Aria can do, it reminded him very much how Leo always interacted with the children in the base.
He always tried to make himself smaller, get to their eyelevel and graced them with the same soft but smug smile. Always asking them questions what they can do and what they had learned recently. The reaction was usually always the same impressed gasp which apparently he couldn’t help doing as he listened to Aria count of all their functions.
When it was way into the night and both Shelldon and Aria were currently charging Donnie met up with his brother in the kitchen when both seemingly went to get a snack and something to drink at the same time.
It was then that Donnie brought this observation up to him.
Leo shrugged “Technically they are only like a week old, and they are also so small. I don’t know. Maybe it’s just because it’s very obvious that they are new and still getting used to everything? In a way it really does remind me of a child, I guess? Even if they are a robot and all.”
“You never did the same with Shelldon.”
Once again he shrugged “Eh, I was a teen then and Shelldon seemed to be on eyelevel. Now I’m older and stuff… I don’t know!” He raised his voice at the end but laughed.
It was clear he wanted to give Donnie an honest answer but he himself couldn’t really explain it. Not that this was an important matter anyhow. He was just curious what about Aria made Leo react that way. Maybe it was just his analytical brain trying to understand how Aria came across to others and if he needed to make adjustments.
Mikey was so excited when he met Aria properly. He just kept asking them all sorts of things. Why are plants usually green? Why are some oceans seemingly gray and others are a deep blue? What can you do to force another growth spurt?
Donnie had a smile on his face as he watched his younger brother use Aria as his personal encyclopedia. To be honest this was kind of a good idea to just let Mikey ramble off all his questions and see how Aria reacted. They seemed to react just as he wanted, being able to “dumb down” their explanations if Mikey told them that he didn’t understand their too technical response.
Honestly it was really good training for them to learn a more natural way of speaking and explanation. Even if the details of the subject go missing but those could be asked for and maybe one day Aria will learn with whom they can speak more technical to and for whom they had to rephrase their knowledge. Frankly something he had to learn as well.
Shelldon was also at their side. Explaining to them exactly why Mikey might have not understood their current explanation. He went even so far as giving them a ton of verbal praise to make sure they understood that they did this correctly.
Seemed like Shelldon really took them under his wing immediately.
Raph’s reaction was kind of a mix between Leo and Mikey. Over the years Shelldon also started to climb all over Raph’s shell when he had the chance, just how Raph’s brothers used to do. Well, they still used him as their personal perch to be fair.
Shelldon released his rotor blades on his back to fly up and then sit down on one side of Raph’s shoulder, afterwards putting the rotors back into his shell. The red turtle didn’t even react, so used to this. Instead his eyes were glued on the new robot who was once again introducing themself formally.
Without a warning he just snatched them from the ground and moved them up, so they were on eyelevel with him. He scrunched his face together in thought as he eyed the new robot “So, I can ask you any question?”
Aria nodded, something they didn’t do at the start but learned while doing introductions “Yes. If it’s in my databank I can answer any questions and if it’s not I have the abilities do my own research to answer your question.”
Their speech pattern improved a lot as well. Not referring to questions only as inquiries anymore for example.
Raph squinted his eyes even more together “So.” He drawled out “Could you also help Raph with creating a better training plan? Because I know there are ways to make it better, but I don’t really know how.”
Actually, that was a good question! This wasn’t a straight question for one specific fact. This would require combining multiple things together. It really was a good idea to do the rounds with Aria.
“It should be possible. There are many ways to go about this. Are we talking about increasing muscle mass? Cardio? What kind of training do you already do?”
Raphael smiled “How about I show ya. You can help me then.” He then proceeded to move Aria up to his other shoulder. Shelldon’s hand immediately darted over to grasp onto Aria when he saw them swaying back for a second when Raph began walking.
When Aria introduced themself to April, she looked towards Donnie with a raised eyebrow “Say Donnie, this one won’t go all rogue like Shelldon did once, right?”
He scoffed offendedly at that, even if this was mostly meant as a way to tease him “No! I’ve learned since then! Besides I have higher hopes this time around that my lovely brother won’t just sabotage my work. I’m pretty sure that this fact played a huge role in that”
April chuckled at that “Alright, alright. I gotcha. Just making sure.” She winked to really bring home that she was just teasing him.
She then turned to the new small robot and introduced herself as well.
“Yes. April O’Neil. Oldest sister to the Hamato’s. The brothers met you when they all were still kids.” Aria explained.
She nodded “Made sense that Don already told you that all. Well, I already know you’ll be a huge asset to the resistance and welcome to our little family. Well honestly our family isn’t so small anymore.”
This was certainly true. At first it really was just the four with their father. Then April joined and later Sunita and even Cassandra. Somewhere along the way Draxum joined the family as well. And if you added Shelldon and Aria as well then that made up a group of eleven people. It was just sometimes hard to see with everyone busy or away on missions.
It didn’t take long for Donnie to let Aria roam around the base on their own.
He first placed them to what they referred to as the kindergarten. Really it was a school and a way to train children basic skills to survive in the new apocalyptic world. They had games like “Down the Krang” that was just a way to teach them where some of the weak points were on Krangs and how to work together from an early age on.
But Aria was there and helped the few teachers out that were able to teach the kids. Just how they did with Mikey, they acted mostly as a personal encyclopedia for the children. Which got Donnie a little bit in trouble since apparently Aria didn’t realize they shouldn’t mention the most cruel details of certain subjects.
Kids certainly shouldn’t have to hear about how Krang assimilate other people and how they can basically take apart the victims brain.
Not that this wouldn’t be a thing they’d soon learn anyhow. But people tried to save the children’s innocence as much as they could. Even with death and worse things being a daily occurrence.
It was a bit tricky to explain this concept to Aria though. Luckily Shelldon was right there to take that duty on to himself. Basically explaining in more detail how parents and adults want to ensure children have a happy childhood, trying to avoid anything that might be considered as something negative. Not everything at all the time but they want to take their time before getting into the cruel stuff. Give them a chance to prepare themselves for some of the more cruel aspects of the world.
Which them sported Aria asking Shelldon a ton of questions. Would it be okay to talk about death in general? But shouldn’t they learn what to do when seriously hurt?
It really surprised Donnie when Shelldon seemingly had answers to most of their questions. He supposed it made sense that he had problems trying to teach Aria these things since most of it relies more on instinct and having watched behaviors of others for a while to make these judgments, while Shelldon from day one was only able to rely on what he knew and then over the years what he observed.
Donnie didn’t realize that his instinct when it came to interaction was this strong though, since he often felt like he mostly emulated what others did. Well might be that his emulation of everything happens on a more instinctual part.
As they days passed more and more approached Aria instead of Donnie when he was obviously busy. When Aria was already busy they put the next person in a sort of que in their system and ran from one part of the base to the next.
When Shelldon wasn’t busy on doing his rounds around the base or was on a special recon mission he was usually found at Aria’s side. At this point it really felt like they were joined at the hip. Often enough when Aria had questions on how to handle certain situations they approached their brother more than Donnie, which he didn’t mind! It was an interesting observation mostly.
Though the consequences of this were that they seemed to pick up more and more of Shelldon’s mannerisms. That said they never seemed to take on the same kind of chill bro speech pattern. Even if Shelldon tried to make them say “Brah” only to admit that it felt “way off” coming from them.
“Father, you should rest. You have been awake for 68 hours.”
What they took away from Shelldon was them also starting to refer to Donnie as father. And it surprised him when he didn’t mind it. It made sense. He saw all of his projects as “his babies” after all. Not that he ever would say that out loud. The only one he ever really showed this kind of relationship openly with was with Shelldon.
Well, there was this incident with his bed invention but that’s not the point right now. It wasn’t a true AI anyhow.
The first time Aria referred to him as father, he had to take a double take. They usually tended to refer to him as Donatello, sometimes Donnie and rarely creator.
They once did refer to Donnie as Mister Hamato when there was a prick military person in the base who kept calling the turtle brothers derogatory names and apparently Aria thought this would make Donnie sound more like a person to be taken seriously.
It ended with Leo laughing so hard he fell to the ground blinded by his own tears since this came out of nowhere.
Donnie was mostly annoyed with Leo apparently thinking it was hilarious when someone tried to pay him, deservedly, respect.
But father was a weighted word and normally Aria would ask others for their permission to assign a new alias or nickname for them. But this time they didn’t.
“Excuse me? Can you say that again?” Donnie asked, trying to hide his bewilderment as he turned around in his chair to look at his robot.
Aria had their hands on their hips and the pixelated face was turned into a pouty frown “I said that you have been awake for 68 hours straight and that you should rest.”
It’s been only a few weeks and they seemed to already have improved so much and even showing off their own personality. They often enough reprimanded him to take better care of himself and in a way this reminded him so much of how he used to interact with his own father.
“I, uh, yeah. I got kind of caught up in this project. But what did you call me?”
Aria’s arms dropped to their side, their face turning to a smile as they tilted their head to the side “I called you father.” Their robotic voice was more unsure “I’m sorry. I didn’t ask for permission. I just assumed since Shelldon always calls you dad and he calls himself my brother…” They trailed off at the end.
Donnie was for a moment caught in the realization how much better they got at showing actual emotions. A feeling of pride grew in his chest at the words they used.
They assumed.
They assumed!
They are learning and in turn are growing. And now they are seemingly trusting their own ability to think for themself. Donnie knew that they were a true sentient AI but to see them actually grow on their own? There was no better word than pride.
He slowly nodded “No, no. Shelldon was right.” He hesitated a bit at the end. It is a bit ironic that he created AI able to feel and think for themselves when he is famously bad with feelings himself “It’s okay. You didn’t do anything wrong.”
Aria just stared at him for a moment longer before answering “So, it is alright if I call you father? Or dad?”
“Yeah, yeah. Sure. I don’t mind.” He tried to sound casual. He was somehow nervous? Happy? It was a complicated feeling that was settling down in his chest and gut which made him almost more annoyed than anything.
“Alright then, dad. It is time for you to rest. I already asked Uncle Mikey to make you something small to eat as well.” They then walked over and begun softly pulling on his hand.
Donnie couldn’t help but just follow along. Sure, Aria was stronger than most but right now they were barely pulling on him, still Donnie moved as his robot pulled him away from his work and instead into the part of the base the Hamatos have claimed for themselves.
“Uncle Mikey?” Donnie asked as they made their way. Donnie was a bit ducked down so he could still hold onto Aria’s hand as they continued to pull him along as if he didn’t know the way to his own kitchen.
Aria nodded “He said I could call him that and I like it. I like that I have a family.”
“Yeah. Me too.”

ARIA - Autonomous Research Interactive Assistant | AI!Reader in the Krang Apocalypse
Gen
Part 2
Pairings: None
Characters included: Future!Donatello, Future!Michelangelo, Future!S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N
Warnings: n/a
Series: Part 1
Summary: Donnie is stretched thin in the apocalypse. Everyone needs the help of the genius but there is always so much to do, even with the help of his family and Shelldon.
But luckily Donnie is a genius inventor. Might as well create a robot that is simply there to answer everyones question.
Thus the Autonomous Research Interactive Assistant, aka ARIA, was born.
Word count: 2539
Authors Note: This is just a personal project I will work on in between Dream World and my college work. I just love the idea of Donnie creating a second AI and Shelldon immediately taking the mantle of the older brother. I just wanna write the robot siblings causing chaos while Donnie scrambles behind his robot kids to make sure no one dies. Also i just wanted to take the chance to maybe write in the future Casey jr and Shelldon hang out bc you can't tell me those two wouldn't kinda think of each other as cousins lmao
Also I gave Reader a name (Aria) in this one but Y/N will be used sometimes at some point in the future.
Tumblr media
In the apocalypse Donnie’s mind has probably become one of the most important assets. He provides clean water, weapons, protection, and intel. And he makes it look so easy. You had a problem? He probably has multiple ways to solve it for you.
The thing was everyone had some kind of problem.
“Hey Donatello, we have problems with this water purifier. We can’t find the correct replacement parts, do you know what we can do instead?”
“Oh, Mister Donatello! We are trying to bioengineer crops that work well with the destroyed soil here somewhat. We need your expertise!”
“Aha, Donnie! Our weapons seem to be less effective against the Krang. Got something to juice our weapons up more?”
“Donnie, we really need you for this recon mission to determine what the Krang are building there.”
“Donnie, how is your research going into reversing the effects of Krang infection?”
“Donnie, we need more prosthetic limbs.”
“Donnie, medical supplies are running low. We need a proper substitute if possible.”
“Donnie, you really should sleep more.”
Hah, sleep.
Sleep felt like it was only a distant memory at this point.
He wanted to help! He really did but it was just impossible to follow every inquiry with the same priority. Either because some things were frankly impossible at the moment, they didn’t have the correct materials for the project or there just wasn’t enough time.
There was always so much to do and never enough time.
Even with the help of his brothers and sister. The work seemed never ending.
So, as a way to try to mitigate it, Donnie decided to upgrade Shelldon. Over the years the bot made great strides when it came to learning more about behavior and seemed to get better at interacting with people. His rebelliousness faded over the years. Understanding that there were more important things to do and if he can help his creator, or father as he began calling him over the years, then so be it.
That said he still acted often more like a young teenager than the recon bot he was supposed to be. Frankly Donnie giving Shelldon proper limbs like legs, arms and of course hands seemed to have enabled him more when it came to his mischievous behavior. Now being able to interact better with the world around him.
Still, he was reliable and was able to assist with recon missions and relay important information from one point to another in record speed.
Besides, Donnie would never admit it out loud, but he did appreciate Shelldon’s attitude somewhat. Somehow his mischievous behavior brought him a sense of normalcy. Something that survived the start of the apocalypse. Sure, he was an AI and part of this could be then attributed towards Donnie’s programming but still. A lot Shelldon learned himself. Even more he seemed to have picked up from Donnie’s family to his chagrin.
As much as Shelldon helped him out though it never seemed enough. Shelldon was meant more for recon rather than as an information bank to help other parts of the resistance.
There was a knock on the door to his workshop. Donatello didn’t even bother answering already knowing it was Mikey who would just let himself in. If Leo, Raph or April did that he’d make an annoyed comment. Mikey had the younger brother privileges. Not at all times but most times.
Enough to particularly annoy Leo with that fact.
“What can I do for you, Mikey?” Donnie asked as he hurriedly continued to type on his computer. New lines of code appearing on the screen in a scarily fast tempo. His battleshell was laying on the ground against the desk. The design having become more sleek over the years. Though even in the apocalypse Donnie couldn’t help himself adding a few LED lights for the aesthetics.
The Krang were the absolute worst thing that ever happened to the world and the universe but when they do manage to liberate a Krang labor camp they did get access to interesting Krang materials that he didn’t hesitate to use for his own projects.
One such project was currently sitting on a workbench on the side connected to his computer with a ton of cables. Charging as he worked on upgrading the programming of his new invention.
Mikey was now standing behind his chair “We haven’t seen you longer than a few moments the last few week. We’ve been worried about you. Gotta eat and sleep, Donnie.”
He wanted to roll his eyes but his eyes were too busy scanning his code since there seemed to be some kind of mistake. Probably a missing semicolon.
“I am eating and taking rests. Don’t worry. Besides once I’m finished with this I will hopefully have an easier time taking breaks.”
This obviously piqued Mikey’s interest “Oh? Why is that? What are you working on?” He finally moved to his side, his eyes now scanning the code as well which was amusing to Donnie. Mikey probably tried to gleam any kind of information from it while barely know anything when it came to programming. Not that Donnie hasn’t tried teaching him. He never got past the basics with him.
But this was way past the basics. This was genuine GeniusTech programming that can create a sentient AI.
“I’m making an assistant.” He simply stated.
Mikey paused “What like… what? Isn’t Shelldon already kind of filling that role?”
Donnie tilted his head to one side and back, as if he was mulling this statement over “No. I want to create an assistant that can store a vast amount of information on all kinds of subjects while being able to autonomously do research shouldn’t the correct answers be there.”
“So, we don’t have to bug you anymore when asking you how god and the world work, eh?” He didn’t need to look at his younger brother to know that he was smirking. At this point this has been one of his biggest grievances after all. Sure, he loved infodumping but topics like the filter of a water purifier weren’t exactly on the top of that list.
“But more importantly.” Mikey drawled out the last word “Does that mean Shelldon will have a sibling?”
Donnie bristled at that, as well as a turtle can bristle “No! This is just my Autonomous Research Interactive Assistant. Nothing more. I’m building it to give us room to breath to work on more projects at the same time.”
His brother chuckled at his response “You say that but you aren’t even correcting Sheldon anymore when he calls you dad.”
He couldn’t even respond before Mikey spoke up again “Anyway, is that them?” Probably pointing to the slumped over robot on his workbench.
The robot was just like all his tech purple. The head was more humanoid in nature with a screen for where the face would be. They also had a shell on the back. Knowing Donnie there were probably a ton of hidden compartments that held all sorts of interesting gadgets. It was probably only around four feet tall which would put it around the same height as Shelldon.
This actually felt rather short even for Mikey nowadays. All the Hamato brothers have had growth spurts over the years. All but Mikey were almost towering over other humans at this point. This just seemed to be one of the other effects of originally being created to be soldiers to fight in a war against humanity.
It was a bit ironic and almost heartbreaking that this gave them now an edge while warring against the Krang. Even though Draxum created them for this reason he still seemed somewhat sad about that fact now. Though Mikey was sure he was the only one who noticed that about the goat yokai. He was probably the only one who could read the yokai almost like an open book at this point.
Donnie’s gaze flitted over to his workbench, looking at the robot that Mikey was now closely scrutinizing without actually touching it “Yeah, yeah. That’s the Autonomous Research Interactive Assistant. Or will be.”
Mikey furrowed his brows, his hand running through his short black hair that he was slowly growing out, mostly on Donnie’s orders since he was still a bit perplexed by his sudden hair growth “Why not just call them Aria. Seems easier than to say the whole name out loud.”
“Yeah, yeah. Sure. Aria.” Donnie sighed.
“Shelly knows about them, right? Like he has to since you work on them in the open like that.”
Donnie scoffed at that “Of course he knows. He helped assemble the pieces and calibrated the joins while I worked on other things or the code.”
“That might explain why he has been more high energy than usual.”
“I swear if Shelldon touched one of the Krang energy cells again-“
Mikey laughed “Nah, I think he is just excited at having another robot around soon.”
Donnie didn’t respond to that. He was too busy adding more lines of code. Everyone seemed somehow way more excited at his new invention than he anticipated. Aria, as Mikey had dubbed it now, would be hopefully a big asset in the base.
“Anyways. Stop working on them. It’s Hamato dinner time. I was supposed to just grab you. Let’s go Donnie, we actually scrounged up some nice ingredients for once. Come on, come on. I cooked real food after ages.”
The prospect of honest to god real food sounded fantastic. It sounded so good after months of just military rations that he immediately saved his project and got out of his chair to put on his battleshell. It was just dinner with the family but especially nowadays he despised walking around without his artificial shell.
After being caught in a fight without it he almost glued the piece of tech on him. He even slept with it on for a while. His brothers had to practically peel him out of it. Leo then had to take care of any chafing on his soft shell. This whole experience was unpleasant enough that he learned to at least take it off again when he sleeps or when he is hunkered down for days in his workshop.
“Food sounds good.” He agreed as he followed his brother out towards where his family was undoubtedly waiting for them. If they started without them Mikey would probably beat them all up. Knowing him he probably wanted to see everyone’s reaction to his cooking after such a long time.
It took a good while longer for the work on Aria to progress. A lot came in the way of that but Donnie tried his best to work on this project whenever he could.
Donnie was currently working on Shelldon’s left arm that got a bit jostled during his last recon mission. He had to admit he always felt a few trepidations when he sent out Shelldon with others for missions. This time it seemed somewhat warranted since a Krangified human apparently got close enough to get ahold of him to pull his arm out of its socket. Were he a living being trying to set the arm back in would be painful as all can be but luckily for Shelldon this was mostly a thing of moving it back in and just repairing and fastening screws to hold it in place.
Maybe he should upgrade Shelldon again and give him even more defensive capabilities even if it’d slow him down.
A metallic scratching sound pulled him out of his thoughts “Shelldon. What are you doing?”
Shelldon was using his other arm to look at the exposed wiring and exoskeleton of the robot next to him. Aria was still sitting on the workbench slowly collecting dust.
“Just seeing if I can do something while you work on me, dad. I wanna see them finally come online.” He simply replied.
Donnie pulled one small screw tighter “If you want we can work on it more once I’m done with your arm.”
Even if Shelldon was incapable of an actual smile due to his build, Donnie swore he could see him do so in his own way. He obviously perked up at the prospect.
And as promised as soon as the arm worked again and was calibrated to Donnie’s standards, which took way longer than Shelldon would have liked, they jumped at completing the chassis.
Completing the code took longer than that. It took a couple more weeks between missions and work for Donnie to feel confident enough in his work to try to activate the robot for a test. He just wanted to see if his code started up correctly.
Shelldon was at Aria’s side while Donnie worked on the computer side of things. Starting up multiple of his analysis programs to record how the technology worked with each other. If there were parts that unexpectantly heated up for example.
He pressed on his enter key to start up the Aria program. Immediately turning around to see his GeniusTech logo appearing on the screen of Aria’s face.
A few commands appeared. Showing him exactly what programs started and loaded up only to disappear again and a pixelated face in a neutral expression appeared. Huh, he swore he designed it in such a way that it should start with a resting expression.
Aria blinked.
“Hello. I am your Autonomous Research Interactive Assistant. How may I help you?”
Donnie couldn’t help his glee as he yelled out “By Galileo! It works!” It loaded up and reacted just how he wanted when being approached by someone else. There was definitely too much static in their voice and there was a weird echoing effect on it. Something he will have to work on.
But now to test its capabilities.
Something easy to test the waters.
“At what temperature does water boil?”
The response was immediate “Water begins to boil at 99.97 °C, 211.9 °F and 373.15 Kelvin.”
Ah just as precise as he had hoped.
“Explain to me what the measurement of metal strength is.”
Once again, the response was fast “Tensile strength is a value that indicates a metal's ability to resist deformation and failure when loads are applied that pull it apart. Tensile strength is typically quantified through units of pounds per square inch, PSI, or pascals, Pa.”
Perfect! Now what else should he ask to really test their ability to pull the correct knowledge out. What would be a complicated enough question?
“Brah. Come on. They just came online! Do you just want to quiz them?” Shelldon whined. Sometimes Donnie was really confused where he got his attitude and speech pattern from. Then again Leo did sabotage him years ago.
Sighing, he relented “Alright. Autonomous Research Interactive Assistant. Register an alias for yourself.”
They tilted their head to the side to look at him inquisitively “What name do you want me to register?”
Shelldon’s head snapped up to his creator. There was something pleading in the way he acted and looked at him. Donnie nodded.
The turtle robot walked in front of the new one “Aria. A-R-I-A.”
“Aria.” They repeated. “The name has been registered as an alias. You may refer to me now as such.”

Dream World - A Sibling!Mutant!Reader Story - Part 7
GEN
Part 1 | Prev Next
Pairings: None
Characters included: Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, Raphael, Splinter
Warnings: n/a
Series: Part 7
Summary: The second part of the training part
Word count: 4809
Authors Note: I haven't gotten a proper chance to look over it yet but I really needed to release this since this was supposed to be in the last update but everything just got too much. Now that this is out of the way I can concentrate on the next parts of this.
I'll edit the typos more tomorrow. My adhd is getting a bit in the way I'm sorry.
Tumblr media
Weapons.
That made sense and yet Y/N was somehow taken aback. It made sense that vigilante ninja’s would use weapons but they haven’t even considered that if that is the case that their counterpart probably also used some and were proficient in them.
It was already weird enough to realize that while fighting they possessed apparently some innate instincts which have shown themselves as Y/N’s pretty good ability to dodge. There was still this pleasant and proud feeling deep inside their chest as they thought back on it.
Raph seemed so happy and proud with how they threw their punches and even while weaving between Leo’s jabs and punches they clearly remembered how the red eared slider smiled. The compliment Splinter gave them at their first real dodge still rung inside their head and bounced around happily. They couldn’t help but almost feel exhilarated at all the positive feedback they have gotten.
Plus, as it stands, due to their apparently still intact muscle memory, it probably will take less time for the others to deem Y/N ready enough to go out of the lair.
With these thoughts twirling around in their mind Y/N turned towards Leo “Weapon training? What kind of weapon did I use?”
Honestly, they couldn’t help but be excited. Not often do you get the chance to hold a ninja weapon in hand and even get to use it.
But before Leo could even attempt to reply, Donnie suddenly perked up “Oh! It is still laying in my lab. I will go grab it.” And with that he speedwalked out of the dojo, Y/N only took their eyes off him once they couldn’t see him anymore. Instead, their curious gaze flitted back towards the blue banded brother of the bunch.
Said brother was currently stroking his chin in thought “I’m not sure if I should tell you or if I just want to make you wait for you to see for yourself.”
This earned him an honest eyeroll from Y/N. They could tell that he mostly said this, so they were plagued by their own curiosity. If they felt more confident, they would have maybe flicked his arm in revenge for that.
Confidence was something that slowly seemed to return to Y/N. While they didn’t feel completely comfortable in this situation, somehow the feeling of anxiety and panic inside their gut has subsided a lot. There was still a lot of confusion and even partial annoyance but compared to their time in the infirmary and now, it has gotten substantially better.
The little bit of training, or rather the small tests, might have helped more with this than they realized. Maybe Splinter was right and doing something more athletic does help a bit with the storm inside their mind. Or seeing that they held some sort of ability just boosted their confidence enough for them to extend some more trust towards the family.
Whatever it was they felt glad about it. Even if they felt guilty for seemingly settling into this situation while they were still confused, worried about May, sad about their apparently missing memories and even more confused about the little flashbacks they sometimes get assaulted with.
Y/N pulled themself back out of these thoughts. Nothing they can do about it now. No, instead they should concentrate on this little training session because then the chances of them actually finding out more is higher.
It was then that they realized they were deep inside their thoughts and only caught the tail end of what Leo was telling them.
“-so really, I am the most skilled here.”
They blinked and Leo searched their face for a certain reaction. One he didn’t seem to receive from them.
“Sorry, I kind of spaced out.” They apologized awkwardly.
Leo’s brows immediately fell down into an annoyed but still lighthearted expression “Wow, okay. Thank you. I was just telling you about all the weapons we all use."
“Oh. Sorry. Can you repeat that?”
“I’m back! Sorry, it took a moment because I saw some of the metal came loose and I fastened it real fast and anyway here, Y/N.”
Donatello came back into the room with wide steps. His goggles were now perched on his snout with a self-satisfied smile. The weapon he held in his hand made Y/N’s eyes widen. This was not what they expected to see.
They expected a dagger, nunchucks or even a katana. But not this.
He had his hands outstretched and, on his palms, laid a bow. A bow made of wood, but the ends were reinforced with metal that ended into almost spikes. The string looked sturdy and thicker than they would have thought.
They couldn’t help but think that you required some strength to pull the string back on a metal reinforced bow. Strength they weren’t entirely sure they possessed.
Carefully Y/N snaked their hand around the middle part of the bow and lifted the weapon off Donnie’s hands. They softly gasped as they felt the weight of it. It was heavier than they anticipated but it made sense.
Green cloth was wrapped around the grip. Almost as if this was Y/N Hamato’s way to mark the weapon as their own.
The others just seemed to watch Y/N, gauging their reaction.
Y/N held the bow up. Their left hand held the grip tightly while the right hand went to the string of the bow. Now they understood why the wrappings on their left arm was longer than on their right. It was in order to protect their skin when they pulled and let go of the bowstring.
They gave the string an experimental tug. As they figured, it did require some more strength to fully pull it back.
With a deep breath Y/N squared their shoulders. One foot stood in front of the other in a wider stance for stability. Then they pulled again, this time using more of their strength. The string moved along their face. The wood of the bow seemingly caved in under the pressure and begun to bend.
Just as they wanted to release, Splinter spoke up.
“Put your elbow down, Green.”
It took them a second to understand what he meant but realized that he probably meant their right elbow. They pulled it down and tried to hold it on the same level as their shoulders. Their muscles begun to strain as they held on to the string, but it didn’t feel unbearable. They probably could hold on for a long time. This was courtesy of Y/N Hamato’s body, they figured.
Splinter then walked around their body. With his tail he begun nudging their feet and legs. Spacing them properly for proper form. After a few nudges and pushes he seemed satisfied and nodded.
“Yes, exactly like this. Remember that.”
Then Y/N released the string. Of course, nothing happened since they didn’t notch and arrow, but they could feel by the speed that there would have been a lot of strength behind the arrow if they did indeed let one fly. This bow probably had some serious reach.
“Wow, okay. A bow? Not what I expected if I’m honest.” They finally spoke up, moving their arms back down. Once again inspecting the weapon and in particular the metal that reinforced the ends of the bow. The spikes were blunt.
“Don put the metal on the bow because sometimes you gotta fight people off in close combat.” Mikey explained as they saw them tracing along the metal.
That did make sense.
“Wait, yeah, so like, I’m always in the back?” they asked.
Leo nodded “As I told you, you are incredibly stealthy. You are the master at surprise attacks, but you can dish out with this bow just as well. You also usually carry kunai with you for defense though. Heh, you also love to lay traps. That was something we had to work on in our teamwork because we tended to walk into your traps more than our enemies.”
Y/N scrunched their face together, trying to imagine themself laying down traps in the middle of battle “What… kind of traps?” They couldn’t help but imagine them putting down a tripwire only for Leo to faceplant because of it. Why Leo? He just seemed more likely to fall for something like that.
Mikey was about to answer but Raph laid his hand on his back “One thing after the other, Angelo. Let’s scrounge up a few arrows and let them try their bow out.”
It was still a bit frustrating to see all of them hold back when it came to delivering information, but this time Y/N didn’t mind it too much. Frankly they were a bit excited to get to shoot a bow.
The brothers looked inside a small tool cabinet and came back with four arrows. It was a bit weird that apparently they for one didn’t know where they stashed the arrows and to that they only found four? Was this enough for missions? Maybe Y/N had a special place where they stashed them, and the others weren’t sure where?
With the bow and an arrow in hand they walked towards one of the targets at the back of the dojo, right next to the training dummies.
Remembering how Splinter positioned their body before, they tried their best to emulate that again. With the arrow notched against the string they moved their arms up and pulled. Without a word Splinter walked over again and nudged their feet a bit more. At least they remembered to apparently hold their arms in the correct position.
Aiming seemed tricker than they imagined. Should they go along the arrow tip? But also gravity would do its job and pull said arrow down. Then again this bow seemed to have some serious strength to it and they were only standing like 30 feet away.
“Before releasing the arrow, hold in your breath. That way you have a little bit better control over your weapon and hold it steadier.” Splinter’s voice was firm as he instructed them.
Y/N breathed in and held the air inside their lungs.
Their lungs were probably more inside them towards their shell because of their turtle DNA. Okay, yeah that was weird to think about that because they were stuck in a different body that also meant that their organs were literally rearranged.
Instead they concentrated on the target in front of them. On it was a picture of a hippo mutant. Oh, they need to ask the others why that was.
That’s when they just released their fingers but kept their pose intact. The arrow flew through the air with a swishing sound. The string of the bow relaxed. And with a clink it collided.
With the wall.
A good few feet above the target.
Y/N pursed their lips as they let their arms fall back down again. Well, this wasn’t what they aimed at.
“Good job?” April tried but when Y/N looked at her with a deadpanned expression she broke out into giggles that she tried to hide behind her hand.
“Hey you at least actually reached the back of the wall!” Raph argued.
Before anyone else could respond, Mikey jumped in “It’s technically the first time they used that bow. Kind of. Right, Y/N?”
They just nodded in response, their lips still pursed staring at the arrow that now laid pathetically on the ground. Mocking them.
“So, try it again! I’m sure you just need to get a feel for it.”
Raph handed them another arrow. With new vigor due to the confidence from the youngest towards their abilities, they notched the arrow. This time when they got into position Splinter didn’t feel the need to correct them. If anything this was a win in their book.
Okay, somehow the arrow landed a few feet above the target even if they were sure they held the arrow straight on to the target. They shifted the arrow around until they were absolutely sure it was straight and pointing at the target. Probably.
Once again, they held their breath and a second later, they let go. The string flew back down, once colliding with their arm. This time there was a thunk sound as the arrow collided. It collided with the target. Not in the middle but also not at the very edge as well!
Y/N couldn’t help themself as they threw their arms into the air “Yes!” They cheered.
“See! I told you so! High three!” Mikey yelled out, holding out his hand and Y/N immediately clapped their free hand down onto his.
“So, you definitely need practice with your bow. Good to know.” Donnie suddenly noted.
It was Mikey who whirled around, pointing at his older brother “Come on, Dee. You are such a killjoy!”
This seemed to bug Donnie, his eyebrow shot up in slight disbelief “Killjoy? Me? Excuse you, Mikey. You are talking to the bootyyyshaker9000. Also, it is just a fact. They also need more training in hand to hand combat, or do you want them to be caught off guard outside?”
He made a solid point and yet Mikey still crossed his arms “No. I don’t want them to get hurt.”
Suddenly Leo jumped into Y/N’s field of vision. He grabbed their hand and placed something heavy and cold into it. It was a knife? A kunai.
“Throw it at the target. Throw the knife!”
He seemed way too excited at this but Y/N shrugged and handed him their bow for the time being. Throwing a knife was way different than when they shot the arrow, but it should work similar? Kind of? Not really.
With one eye closed they turned to the target and begun gauging their throw. This time they aimed a bit higher on purpose since gravity will probably pull stronger on the heavier kunai than the fast arrow.
Clenching the metal in their hand they threw the kunai. It sailed through the air and connected with the target! It was a bit on the lower side of the target but they hit it at their first try! It probably looked a bit pathetic as they proudly placed their arms at their side as Leo gave them a pat on their shell.
“Nice one!”
It was a compliment and yet Y/N couldn’t help but stare at Leo with furrowed eyebrows. They couldn’t help but think there was a slight sarcastic undertone. Which was kind of warranted to be fair, they supposed, but still.
He immediately held up his palms in defeat “I meant it! You’ll get better over time. I’m sure it won’t take long for you to return to being able to hit bullseyes from like hundreds of feet away.”
“Hah, I hope so. I think.” Y/N just answered. They would be happy if they just could hit their intended targets consistently. That would be their first goal once they started their actual training so they were allowed to go out of the lair.
How scary was the outside that they needed to make sure that Y/N could defend themself, anyway? Then again from what they gathered they seemed to have collected enough enemies over the time as vigilantes. After all they fought of god damn alien that tried to take over the world.
“Hey, can we talk about our ninpo now?” Mikey suddenly piped up. Ignoring the fact that Y/N had no idea what he meant by that, he seemed pretty eager to talk about it.
Whatever it was it seemed to be something special.
His brothers looked at Splinter who gave Mikey an encouraging nod. Mikey immediately clapped his hands together “Okay, okay! Lemme tell you all about ninpo, Y/N! After all I am a powerful mystic warrior! Or I will be.”
Mystic? Y/N’s eyes widened “Wait, is it something like magic?”
To their surprise Mikey just shrugged “Well. Not really? Kind of? It’s more like a thing of all pies are pastries but not all pastries are pies.”
When Y/N just scrunched their face together in confusion Mikey started to explain again.
“There is magic. Draxum uses it for example but our ninpo is something different. It gives us special abilities like mystic spells can give but it’s a thing that only our family can use. You can only use it if you show complete trust towards your family.”
“You can use spells to do things like teleport and things but ninpo mainly enhances our abilities we already have. It makes us stronger and faster and each of us has one special ability. I can extend my nunchaku chain for example and can make them burn.”
This now made slowly more sense. It seemed like ninpo seemed somewhat related to mystic arts but was in this case something strictly related to the Hamato family. Not something anyone can just learn and use.
But that begged the question. Would Y/N be even able to use this ninpo? For once Mikey said that it required utter trust towards their family and as much as Y/N wanted to extend this trust towards everyone, it was difficult to do so. They trusted them that they wanted to help and don’t mean any harm but utter and complete trust? That was something different.
Besides it was something only the Hamato family could use. But Y/N was Y/N L/N. Technically they shouldn’t be able to use it. Because they aren’t the person they all think they are.
But what if against all odds they did get access to this specific power? What would that mean? Maybe it would just be because this body is still a Hamato body? Did that make sense? Would it mean they were part of this family after all for some reason? Would it mean that the brothers were correct, and they were wrong? Somehow the memories of their human life were the wrong ones?
Their heart beat hard in their chest. Suddenly they were hyperaware of their own breathing. They took in more breath than they should, didn’t they? No, no, they couldn’t panic right now! Not while everyone was here and watching them! They had to prove that they were alright and ready to go outside. They had to hold on!
This sucked.
Suddenly there was a pull. Green arms with orange flecks flew around their neck. Slightly pulling them down towards the smaller turtle. Even if he was only smaller by a few inches.
Y/N immediately snaked their own arms around his shell. While this was embarrassing, they were happy for this sudden sign of affection. The hug grounded them again. It pulled them back into reality.
They thought themself into a panic when nothing has even happened yet. At least they haven’t started bawling.
After a few moments Y/N let go and Mikey took a few steps back again. Instead of a worried expression that they fully expected, they were met by a soft smile from Mikey.
“Are you okay?” he asked.
They nodded “I am now. Thank you. Uh, sorry. My thoughts kind of took over.”
“That’s alright. Do you want to talk about it? Or do you want to be distracted for now?”
Y/N couldn’t help but smile at this. It was nice to just straight up ask them this “I think I would prefer a distraction for now.” Their eyes flew along everyone in the room. Too many people were in here and while they knew they all would help them try to work through this, they felt way too exposed to suddenly bring up this panic inducing thought.
Mikey nodded, he seemed to understand what the issue was “Um, did you catch what I said at the end? Do you want to avoid this topic for now?”
“Oh, um, I remember you telling me what the difference between ninpo and mystic spells are. I think I understood it. You can tell me again what you said after that. Sorry again.” While it might not have been the smartest idea to stay on this topic, Y/N felt the need to prove that this wouldn’t be a problem in the future. Maybe it was stupid and even childish since they were sure the others wouldn’t hesitate to find solutions but they also didn’t want to give them another reason to coddle them even more.
Mikey’s smile widened “Don’t worry about it!” His semiserious expression and tone seemed to disappear and his usual cheery persona returned “I just said that since our ninpo is family related we can usually kinda extend it to feel each other? At least enough to tell that the others are nearby or not. During battle we are usually more in sync. And we all just noticed that it’s kind of difficult for us to get a sense of you. Which makes sense. You are in a weird situation, and you are kind of getting to know your own family again which will take time. Hence why we think you can’t reliably use your ninpo at the moment.”
Ah.
That somehow helped calm them down again. So, the others wouldn’t expect them to suddenly use these ninpo powers because they could already tell that they can’t.
“But, we came up with a solution!” Mikey exclaimed happily. His finger up in the air.
“What- What kind of solution?” Y/N cursed the stutter that gave too much away of their actual nervousness when they tried to at least appear calm now.
Mikey nodded “Yep! Draxum will help!”
Y/N squinted “The… yokai dude?”
“Yeah before we learned to use our ninpo and stuff we stole some of his weapons which gave us the ability to use our mystic powers. These weapons kind of got destroyed but with our ninpo upgrades we can make new ones that share the same powers. You however don’t have that option so we asked Draxy to remake your old bow.”
Donnie scoffed at that “Even though I made you a perfectly fine bow myself.”
“Well you wouldn’t give him the bow to imbue the correct magic into it.” Mikey reminded him.
Donnie looked towards the ground, crossing his arms over his plastron. He almost looked sheepish or embarrassed “This… This is my bow for Y/N. It just- It just wouldn’t be right to change it up if it’s perfectly fine and only if Y/N and I together have a proper say in it.”
Y/N didn’t need to fully understand what was going on to know that this bow meant something to Donnie. Even if it only was because he probably slaved some good amount of time on it for his sibling.
“Yeah, don’t worry, Donald. We understand.” Mikey then turned back to Y/N “But that means that it will take a bit of time before we get to test your reaction at your mystic powers.”
Their reaction at their own powers? That was weirdly worded.
Y/N cleared their throat “So, what does that mean now?”
Leo suddenly laid his arm around their shoulder “We just wanted to make sure you understand what ninpo and mystic magic is. Now it’s time we return to proper training. We will first get your hand-to-hand combat better up to speed and train your use in your weapons.”
“Alright but now I’m curious. What kind of special powers do you all have? Mikey has long chains and fire, I know that now.” While they didn’t want to linger too long on this topic if they had the choice, they had to admit. Curiosity won the fight once again.
Leo grinned “I can make portals and teleport around. I know, I know. I’m the coolest.”
“Oh nah, I can make a projection of myself and turn into huge Raph and smash the enemies even better! Hell, I can even use it as a shield to protect us from huge falls and impacts! If that isn’t cool then I don’t know what is!” Raph suddenly interjected.
“Oh, gentlemen. Clearly it is I with the superior powers.” Donnie spoke theatrically “For I can create any type of technical weapon. I basically have the whole US weapon arsenal at my side. Try to top that!”
Y/N turned towards April who just shrugged “I can make a glowing bat that I can throw around like a boomerang.”
So they then pointed at themself and looked at the group with a questioning gaze.
Mikey’s eyes widened “Oh! Right we never did tell you what you can do, huh?”
They nodded.
“Well, my dear sibling. You might not reach the same amazingness as portals but yours isn’t too bad either.” Leo let go of them to stand in front of Y/N “Just as how Mikey can like control and create mystic fire you have electricity powers! You usually use it to make arrows out of electricity and shoot them. You can also use them to place electric traps on the ground for example to shock unsuspecting enemies. When fighting Meatsweats it always ends with the smell of bacon.”
Y/N’s mouth opened a bit to show their surprise. Not going to lie that kind of sounded really cool. That also might explain why they had to look for the arrows and there were only a few ones left. Why use normal arrows if you can just make some out of electricity! Also, they could make electric traps with it? That sounded really cool.
Actually there was a ton of ways they could see how to use it in battle and combined with the fact that they are supposed to be the stealthiest one? Oh yeah, there was definitely potential.
Finally they closed their mouth again only to speak “That sounds so cool!”
“But guys you know what all of this means right?” April suddenly asked.
When no one responded April was gracious enough to answer “You all had to properly learn to work with Y/N’s traps and now they have kind of forgotten all about them so I think you need to go through this whole teamworking business again.”
There was an immediate reaction of groaning. Leo immediately turned to Raph, pointing his finger up into his red themed brother’s face “We do not do the ball thing again! You hear me! We do not!”
Raph grimaced and looked away from his suddenly fuming brother “Ah, no. Didn’t even think about it. Besides now are you the boss so have fun coming up with a training plan… Not that Raph won’t help ya.”
Leo sighed and seemed to relax again “You’re right. Besides we are older now. We are smarter. We can find a non-embarrassing way to train our teamwork.”
It felt a bit much to call for teamwork training when the Y/N was the only problem. Technically. But they weren’t going to bring that up.
“Kids as much as I like to listen to you all but I think it’s time for you to train properly, yeah? I think I can trust you all to do a good job. I’ll be retreating into my room.” Splinter spoke.
Donnie sighed “Your soaps are about to start, right?”
Splinter froze “No. No, I just think that I should show you all some trust by letting you train on your own. You usually train on your own. We solved this problem, so I think everything is in your capable hands.”
“Not that I don’t appreciate you showing trust for our abilities, dad.” Donnie stared his father down “I know when your shows start. You can’t lie to me.”
With an impressive amount of speed Splinter suddenly basically fled out of the dojo with a quick “You all got this! Especially you, Green! Love you all! Don’t kill each other!” And then he was gone.
Y/N pointed to the entrance “So, I assume this is usual behavior for him?”
Leo nodded “There are a few constants in life. Splinter and his obsession with his favorite TV shows is one of them. As far as I know it’s always been like this though lately he has gotten better with it.”
Raph nodded “Yeah. I actually really think he was honest about him believing in us and all.”
Donnie massaged the space in between his eyes “Let’s just start proper training.”
“Alright. Mikey against Raph. Apes against Don and me against Y/N. This time I want you to do more than dodging!” Leo issued out, ending with a sort of sing song voice.
They barely survived last time against Leo and even then he said he was going easy on them! Now they were also supposed to punch him besides trying their best to not get hit? It took all their braincells to evade him last time!
Seems like Leo really was a believer in the sink and swim method.
