Fun Fact

There's almost an equal split between the sexes on Tumblr - 51% male, 49% female.

blendzioszka:

Oof it delated my reply so I have to write it again :/

So…

By “that’s her own tragedy” I meant that its horrible situation for her. And its even worse because the twins are fighting with each other and are not paying atention to Lizzy and her mental health. Whe can see that she cried out her emotions and now she’s just… dead.

Also… I understand why u want to call it rape but i have a strange feeling about it. You know rape is something much much worse. And Im not saying that lying about your identity when it comes to marriage or sex is good. No, its not. You shouldnt EVER lie about who you are to people.

The thing is that Ciel propably did not prepare to live that long. If I had a contract with a demon, I’d prepare for an early death. Not for a marriage :/

I agree that Lizzy is a victim there. He lied to her. I think he wanted to die as Ciel bc of many things but also for Lizzy. We all know that our Ciel do care about Lizzy. He really do. Even if it wasn’t the best decision…

randomanimeandmangablog:

Yeah, he’s going to die, but his revenge intake pretty long. If it got to the age where he couldn’t delay marriage any longer, would he really call off the marriages, risking the Phantomhive name and leaving no heir?

“That’s her own tragedy.” Maybe I’m misunderstanding, but are you saying “That’s her own problem”? Uh, no. It’s completely and entirely O!Ciel’s fault. First of all, she’s thinking hypothetically in that scene. We don’t know if she really wouldn’t care. She’s just confused. We don’t know how she would have reacted if O!Ciel hadn’t lied. But she was by no means obligated to just transfer her affections to her fiancee’s brother! Say you were dating a twin. They get in some dangerous situation, and only one comes back. If it was the twin you weren’t dating that came back, yeah you’d be disappointed too. Not that the twin survived necessarily but that your loved one didn’t. You wouldn’t be morally obligated to just start loving the surviving twin. If the survivor lied and you did date for a while, you’d be fully justified in leaving.

blendzioszka:

Yeah, he did lied to her and thats not the best thing he would do…

But!

I don’t think he could ever marry Lizzy. Remember? He is going to die. And he knows it very well.

The thing is that Lizzy realised that she cared only because its Ciel. She fell in love with Ciel and then loved O!Ciel. Thats her own tragedy.

+ i dont think it would be a rape but it would be realy horrible. But still I have to say that propably O!Ciel never wanted to marry her. He’s not that type of person. And he still is a kid.

randomanimeandmangablog:

So apparently some fans feel that Lizzie is absolutely horrible for ‘betraying ’ Ciel…

Like, he lied to her. He was never her fiance, and he lied to her. Was he ever planning on telling her? Because if he didn’t before they married, the marriage would be invalid. If they consummated the 'marriage,’ he’d be a rapist. Now that’s all speculation. He’s a kid, and I don’t think he planned that far ahead, let alone understood what that lie would mean. But I find it ironic that people are more concerned with Lizzie not standing by someone who betrayed her than the fact that Ciel did betray her.

And of course it would be rape because Lizzie would be consenting to R!Ciel, not O!Ciel. If I consented to sleep with one man, that doesn’t mean another man can just swoop in and have sex with me. Even if I didn’t fight back, thinking I was having sex with the man I consented to have sex with, it would still be rape because the person in bed with me wouldn’t be the person I had agreed to have sex with. Consent isn’t some object that can just be passed around.

Dont be so harsh on him. He’s just a kid.

Okay. I’m sorry I misunderstood.

It would be rape though. Rape is having sex with someone who didn’t consent or had an impaired ability to consent. Gentle or violent, it’s just as bad. Since O!Ciel lied about his identity, the only way Lizzie could consent to having sex with him would be if he told her the truth before hand.

And yes, I think you’re right that he didn’t plan for this, and I’m not being hard on him. As I said, I don’t think he thought that far ahead, and the situation of them getting married was hypothetical. He hasn’t actually done it, and now he can’t. I brought it up because people are having the audacity to blame Lizzie for not standing by O!Ciel. They act as though she betrayed him, but the truth is that he betrayed her. I don’t know if they’re misogynistic, angry at her for getting in the way of their pedophilic Sebaciel ship, hate her so much that anything she does is seen as wrong, or love Ciel so much that they think he deserves her unquestioning loyalty, but regardless, it’s bullshit that they blame her for staying with her actual fiancee instead of the boy who lied to her for years, especially considering that, had the lie continued, she would have been even more wronged.

No One:

Me: Also, one of the worst parts is that Lizzie would take most of the blame. If he broke off the engagement, fine. A bit of a scandal, but it’s recoverable. If they actually married and he only told her afterward, she’d be ruined. She’d be trapped in the lie too.

No one would believe the marriage was unconsummated, regardless of when she came forward. She would be pitied, but her marriage prospects would plummet, and the law was not kind to women back then. There were precious few ways for a woman to support herself. Lizzie would need to rely on her father and brother, who would be eager to marry her off. It’s highly unlikely someone of her station would want to marry her, even if they were kind. Maybe someone below her station would actually love her, but most people asking for her hand would be gold diggers interested in her dowry who either couldn’t make a better match or were low enough on the social hierarchy to not care about the scandal.

Some Victorians would have pitied her. They would have seen her as a victim, but still not a rape victim because they didn’t think trickery counted as rape. Other Victorians would have thought she knew all along. Ciel would have been a cad, but he might still be able to make it out okay. If his brother didn’t turn up, he’d still be the heir, and the Queen would have helped him pretend Lizzie was lying. Even if Real Ciel showed up much later, after Lizzie and Ciel were married, Ciel would only have a blackmark. He could have relied on his brother for financial support or sought his fortunes elsewhere, but Lizzie would always be blamed.

So Lizzie would likely end up staying in the marriage because she had little to no alternatives. At that point, her family might have disowned her otherwise because it would cast 'dishonor’ on them by Victorian values.

That is the exact spot my parents found a stray kitten. Nice little addition to the family, but would have been a terrible addition to the pavement had she not been very vocal OTL

No joke, the place where that cat is resting in this picture is called a “dead cat hole” it’s an automotive term.  Don’t believe me, look it up.

This is also where I found a stray cat, she was up in there during a thunderstorm and I begged my dad to let me being her inside and that’s the story of how I got my first cat.

Please don’t skip over this without reading it and making a mental note. Even if you don’t have a car, tell your parents or whoever, and make sure to do this. You think that’ll never happen but that’s what everyone thought who had this happen and didn’t check, and that poor cold cat met with a terribly sad end.

REBLOG WHETHER YOU LIKE CATS OR NOT

My little sister accidentally killed our family cat this way. It was horrible. Save yourself and a cat some pain by just being a little more attentive.

Sebastian can leave demon!Ciel any time. He doesn’t at first for several reasons.

  1. At first he’s in shock and can’t fully process what he’s lost.
  2. Sebastian initially hopes Ciel can be turned back.
  3. Sebastian has grown fond of Ciel, and as a demon, Ciel is pretty pathetic. Someone needs to teach Ciel how to survive, and Sebastian doubts anyone else would volunteer for the job.
  4. A demon’s life is tedious, and having some company helps to pass the time.

Naturally, Sebastian lets Ciel discover the truth on his own. It takes the younger demon over a century, and Sebastian doesn’t hesitate to guilt trip Ciel for “enslaving” him in the meantime. Ciel is not amused.

I’ve been fortunate enough not to run into any negative posts about Lizzie, but I’ve seen posts referencing those types of posts, and I don’t get it. Lizzie is one of the sweetest character, and she is the purest thing in Ciel’s life. No, she’s not perfect, but no one is perfect, and Lizzie’s a kid.

Also, she’s been handed a really rotten fate. I’d love to believe Sebastian won’t eat Ciel’s soul, but at the end of the day, I think the most we can hope for without some other supernatural creature intervening is that Sebastian will delay taking Ciel’s soul. Lizzie’s doomed to love someone who will quite possibly die young and leave her as a widow. Maybe Ciel will even resist having kids since he knows he might die when the kid is young. (Then again, having an heir was very important back then, so maybe he’d do it anyway.) She wouldn’t understand it if he didn’t want children and might blame herself because bearing children was seen as a duty back then. If they did have kids, she might end up widowed and a single parent.

Watched Book of the Atlantic last night. I didn’t think it was possible for there to be so much fluff in one movie!

There was Ciel and Lizzie. Then that scene where we see Sebastian and Ciel basically teaching each other how to be a butler and his earl, respectively. And the moment where Ciel and Sebastian are on the life boat.

I knew the twist about the Undertaker was coming, but that doesn’t mean I need to like it. Also, I’m beginning to understand that a big part of understanding each new season/movie is just pretending certain things never happened in earlier story arcs (i.e., the revelation of the Undertaker being a reaper).

Vincent: I want you out of this house by nightfall.

Sebastian: I’m afraid I can’t do that. You see, I only take orders from your son, and he has not indicated that he wishes me to leave.

Vincent: I’m his father and the Earl of Phantomhive!

Sebastian: That makes no difference to me.

Vincent: He’ll do as I say!

Sebastian: Will he? You seem very confident for someone who’s been away for 3 years. I wonder if you know your son at all.

Vincent:

Sebastian: Well, if you’re so eager, perhaps we should ask him. I can go tell him you’d like to see him…

Vincent: (sagging) No.

Sebastian: I’m sorry? I didn’t-

Vincent: I said no, you bastard!

Sebastian: As you wish, my lord.
