CONVERSATIONS WITH MYSELF 1
The images from Conversations with Myself, are multi-layered visual dialogues that intimately explore Jo Ann Chaus’s relationships, between and within herself, others and the world.
Inspired by a collection of found and inherited garments and objects, varied locations and good light, she conjures up cinematic tableaus that draw on memory and cultural iconography using herself as the main subject and performs what appears to be a moment captured in time, living in both the present and the past simultaneously.
The collection, a selection from a larger body of work, represent the sense of a self she explores and the bridge she has been constructing between the past and the present, personally and collectively, as she searched to understand her current state of existence as influenced by her family, heritage, society, personal desires and motivations, challenges, hurdles and relationships she recognizes and value, as she accessed many deep, authentic, raw places buried within.
These images instigate if and to what degree the terrain has shifted, as we collectively consider each scenario from the perspective of ourselves, male and female, our mothers, and our daughters

SINGLE STROKE
The Art of Single Line
The Croatian artist Paolo Ceric is famous for his animated GIFs, experiments with illustration without forgetting the graphic and geometric study of the image.
A single spiral line draws enveloped faces and bodies. The effect works in a similar way to a printing process. The line spacing is more significant in the bright areas, while the lines are closer in the dark spaces.
Paolo Ceric is an artist and a programmer from Zagreb. His work mainly consists of generative art, but he has done some motion graphics work with various clients such as Sigur Rós, Panda Bear and Stella McCartney.
By day, he is working as a research engineer at Microblink, developing deep learning models. For the rest of his time, he works on his art.
The artist participated in various exhibitions.

Land of Gods IAMISIGO SS21 FASHION FILM
“Land of gods”, Inspired by Yoruba and Edo Mythology, are both complex but so similar. This collection continues the scope into examining and understanding us beyond being human beings through the idea of divinity. Human creates and destroy. Are we Gods or descendants of Gods which we can study in everyday life? The spirit of human individuality is visual, verbal and musical rather than written. Like a spirit, it can’t stay still; it’s constantly in motion.
Three fundamental colours used in this collection, red identifies blood, fire, provocation, sacrifice and violence, black demonstrates shame and white, which signifies joy and purity; these are the colours of the vital spiritual energy.  This collection's patterns are conveyed, linking our craft experiences to the meaning of proper dressmaking as a gesture of prayer, a vehicle of communication with the spirit world.
Pieces were made in infinite layered sheer recycled polyester ruffles as a sign of abundance and mastery in the spirit world. They are highlighting important symbols in life, which is translating into many ways, such as the transmission of messages to and from the spirit world and the division of earthly and spiritual realms.
These pieces are terrains of soul, never finished, a language for the body beyond conscious understanding, like a mnemonic device that reminds us. The details of the garments created with artisans in Lagos, Osun, Edo and Kano states in Nigeria.

THE MINIMAL MELANCHOLIA
Metaphoric souls beyond the lens
Gabriel Isak’s art entails surreal and melancholic scenes where he invites the viewer to interact with the inner world of solitary figures that symbolize our own unconscious states. He uses photography as a medium to draw and paint surreal images, minimal and graphic in its aesthetic, rich in symbolism and emotion, focusing on themes inspired by human psychology, dreams and romanticism, as well as his own experiences, especially the years he went through depression. Isak’s work is a serene and melancholic meditation that stills the chaos of life and transforms into an introspective journey that questions the depths of existence. The objective of Gabriel Isak’s art is to shine a light on the experiences of being and the states of mind those brings along. His subjects are anonymous with the slightest glimmerings of consciousness, imprisoned in monochromatic settings, so the viewer can envision oneself as the subject, reflecting back on one’s own experiences and journey in life.
Swedish photographer creates images full of enigmatic symbolism and immersed in an enchanted environment with dark tones. His surreal images characterized by darkness and melancholic atmospheres. The cold tones of the water and the suggestion of minimalism symbolize his dark romanticism. The solitary figures populate a desolate nature between shades of grey and ice. The faces hidden by the hair, by thin curtains, shy and mysterious, tell of vulnerable moments. He creates his own imaginative visuals on moments of intimacy that built on the misunderstanding.

REVIVED EMOTIONS
The colors that evoke past memories
California-based artist Heather Day makes abstract paintings comprised of scraped, smeared, and flooded pools of pigment. The compulsive energy of her work oscillates between rehearsed abandon and careful restraint. Her encompassing murals, large canvases, and intimate drawings study the mechanisms of sensory perception — mining what happens when the body interprets a sound as a texture, or a scent as a color.
Mixing warm and cold colors within layers allow the viewer to get into an inexperienced moment. She works on many paintings at the same time, ranging from large-scale canvases to small paper drawings. Beside her primary tool which is imagination, she works with her thoughts, moods, and phases through paint, pastels, charcoal, spray paint, and graphite.
When you look at Day’s art, you can easily notice a bouquet of colors and shapes pieced together, but when you have a closer look and you can realize allow the greatness in composition, forms, stroke, and all line serves a purpose, and it all falls together effortlessly.

FLOWING WATER, STANDING TIME
Robotic clothing reacting to the chromatic spectrum
Imagine robotic dresses react to their surroundings. Ying Gao, designed robotic dresses integrating fibrous panels that consist of out of silicone, glass and organza, and added electronic devices to create every-changing dynamic pieces that react to its surrounding chromatic spectrum.
The collection was inspired by neurologist Oliver Sacks’ novel, The Man who Mistook his Wife for a Hat, in which he relates the story of Jimmie G, a 49-year-old former sailor convinced of being aged 19 since having left the Navy.
Shocked by his own reflection when Sacks hands him a mirror, Jimmie reverts to his 19-year-old self as soon as his gaze leaves the reflective surface. Having lost any sense of temporal continuity, Jimmie lives as a prisoner to this single, perpetual moment, oscillating between a presence to the world and a presence to self.
The garments capture the core of movement and stability over time with using color and light sensors, as well as tiny cameras and collect information about their environment. This data activates a series of magnets which attached with silicone for to move the fabric. The collection shows natural progression of her behavioral studies in autonomous garments.

FLOWING WATER, STANDING TIME
Robotic clothing reacting to the chromatic spectrum by Ying Gao

2019
This project was inspired by neurologist Oliver Sacks’ novel, The Man who Mistook his Wife for a Hat, in which he relates the story of Jimmie G, a 49-year-old former sailor convinced of being aged 19 since having left the Navy.
Much like Jimmie G, the garments evolve between two states and display perpetual metamorphosis as they react to the chromatic spectrum. This traveling between opposite states – from immobility to movement – does not operate as a dichotomy. Upon the field of time, which injects energy into the very core of inertia, fluctuates the intensity animating each garment in its unique way. These two states are mere dropping-off points among an infinite array of possibilities.
In order to echo this varying mobility, the garments are also capable of chromatic movement. Capable of recognizing the colors in their immediate surroundings, they are at once liquid and chameleon-like, adapting to the slow rhythm of their ever-changing environment. A mirror effect is at play: the garments are reacting to what they see. Much like Oliver Sacks’ patient, they alternate between what they are, and what they can potentially become – all the while embodying the inherent complexity of all things.

HYPER-REALISTIC GLASS BAGS
Washington-based artist Dylan Martinez created stunning glass sculptures. His illusory series ‘H2O/SiO2’ combined several glassblowing and sculpting techniques to form hyper-realistic glass bags. Martinez mainly focused on avant-garde approaches that change the material thoroughly. His conceptual approach to art creates a moment that glosses over the viewer’s interpretation of reality and illusion. His curiosity in this subject matter of optical perception is driven by the fact that he was born red-green color blind. However, being a red-green color blind born provided Martinez with an alternative way of seeing and encourages him to make mesmerizing glass sculptures.

THE ETERNAL SUMMERTIME
Precious stones may stand forever, but KEEF PALAS has enthusiasm in an entirely different direction. Claire O’Keefe and Eugenia Oliva who are the founders of Keef Palas, Claire O’Keefe and Eugenia Oliva, features jewellery designed to decay. Both creative ladies have spent many years in fashion industry. Eugenia Oliva, who is responsible for jewellery line, was in sales and marketing at Elie Saab. On the other hand, Claire O’Keefe has been a freelance costume designer and photographer. In ‘Eternal’, they brilliantly transferred organic items into wearable art. Each jewellery piece has created by objects from the ocean. The collection is created from treasure that they found on the Mediterranean coast. They used pebbles, shells, mussels, razor clams, and cuttlefish bones to create extraordinary jewellery pieces. Besides the jewellery items, they designed eyewear products along with mesh dresses crafted of clamshells, earrings of a pearlescent shell, glasses made of stone. In the collection they aimed to highlight something to inspire people, or at least make them think about their shopping choices. If the fashion consumer doesn’t take a stand, then nothing will change.

A CREATIVE JOURNEY TO FEMALE SENSUALITY
“I wanted to create an online platform that grabs people’s attention but also gives them something in return.” - Marius Sperlich
Imagine a photographer who wants to tell a story with one image. Marius Sperlich, a photographer, born in Reinbek, Germany, has built a platform emphasizing current issues on the social media platform. He is demonstrating his artistic journey with sensual close-ups, on the NSFW’s boundary, on the female body, particularly on the face and lips. He uses the human figure as a canvas to style tiny props that tell a larger story. His photographs entirely centred on a small portion of the female’s face, white teeth, wet tongues, fleshy lips which create great sensual shots. Besides social media facts and issues like censorship and validation, Marius Sperlich wanted to address current global problems like climate change, mental health and more.

Reinvention of the Soul
‘Reinvention of the Soul’ photographed by Josh Faux and edited by Lola Dupre. With the portraits of Faux, the series of artworks formed with the new approach to collage technique by Dupre. The unique visual intention of Dupre created completely new perspectives and stories of each individual photographs. Unproportioned and unreal but aesthetic looking collages of faces mesmerizing the viewers. By cropping, rearranging and joining the images, Dupre reshapes the pictures to create a new meaning to the original image. She plays with various types of expressions by moving the facial features around to create creepy and extraordinary looking person. The artworks carry the essence of cubic depictions. With the help of simple tools, she makes the portraits as realistic as possible by taking the original photo and displacing the area of the eye.
