The national archives research centre for public architecture in Argentina is an absolute gem and now open to the public to researchers across the globe. With a new website (will post link at stories) it’s the result of a great time, run by dear friend @sebastiandezan who have kindly opened the doors to discover some of their treasures. Images in order: a failed monument to Perón, repurposed as Evita’s mausoleum. Negatives with views of sculptures now disappeared from a public building. The blueprint of the national congress. Craftsmen at the Correos y Telégrafos building. A view of the Art Deco staircase where the centre is located. Hope you like it as much as we enjoyed the visit. How to convert a loft attic into a master bedroom? This full refurbishment in the residential neighbourhood of Terramar, Sitges, Barcelona had an ambitious premise: To create large and luminous bedrooms for each member of the family. This roof space was previously unused as it had only tiny windows. A large beam was placed to open up the space to enjoy the views. All fitted furniture was custom designed. This full refurbishment in the residencial neighbourhood of Terramar, Sitges, Barcelona had an ambitious premise: to open up the main room into its garden. A large beam supported by slim pillars freed up the room to bring nature and the view or the garden inside of the house. A large fireplace was added and all the custom made fixed furniture was designed to give a serene and timeless feel. The furniture chosen by its owners is playful and allows family and friends to relax while watching TV or sitting near the fire. We conceived this villa in La Plana, a residential neighborhood in Sitges, Barcelona, as a glass and concrete volume with large overhangs to protect its interiors from the sun, but still keeping all the natural light to come in. A pied-à-terre in the heart of the art gallery district of Madrid. Only two steps away from the Reina Sofia Museum. This urban refuge is on the ground floor of a building with direct access from the street. The large walls are perfect for hanging art, with some featured artists such as @krystynagarrido @martinvitaliti . All the custom made furniture has been made to fit the space.
