How did Tommy die in the backwoods au? Did he drown in the pond that transported him there?

Yup! Mortals cant go to the backwoods but since he died in the portal the magic got all confused and let him through without ghostifying him

i have such a vivid scene in my head for wilbur finding out Tommy's dead in the backwoods au. i cant wait to draw it

A bunch of info under the cut bc it's late and I dont feel like being breif or eloquent

SO Tommy's bugging cause he thinks wilbur left without telling him he was from the Backwoods and is throughly upset at being abandoned.

Wilbur on the other hand is equally upset. He was meant to leave after five years and he was only got three before being taken back by Techno bc a new war was breaking out in the Backwoods (Techno is Phil's knight. Phil is the king). Wilbur wanted to take tommy to the Backwoods with him, but was forced back before he could tell tommy about it. He dosent know tommy is dead(?) and in the Backwoods (most humans dont shown up in the backwoods, and ghosts are more whisps of themselves than fully fledged people like tommy) so he thinks he's lost his little brother forever bc humans age so quickly that by the time the war is over tommy will be an adult and have moved on. Sadge.

ALSO there are a bunch of factions (similar to the smp) like the badlands which is a section of the forest that is like the giant sandy cliffs and theres the mushroom forest and las Nevadas (think lotus flower scene in percy jackson). The artic kingdom is where Phil's castle is, which is where the bench trio is heading.

Wilbur can do bardic magic but is too sad to do his spells properly so techno goes to get tommy from the human world, not telling Wilbur bc hed be 'against kidnapping a child' but when he gets there in his human form and asks his parents where he is he gets the news hes dead. Hes like oh shit........I'm gonna have to tell wilbur huh. Wilbur realizes he died looking for him and is consumed with grief. Bc he uses bardic and emotion magic, the Backwoods will become more and more twisted until tommy returns to wilbur. So theres a ticking clock.

Of course, the bench trio dont know any of this, tubbo is in it as an apology for getting tommy killed and the cash. Ranboo wants wilburs crown so he can have a real one and not just a paper one

ALSO THE ANIMALS ARE ALL GIANT AND MAGICAL!!!! AND THE PLANTS ARE HUGE!! ITS VERY MUCH AN ENCHANTED FOREST
