If you think of it this way, the rabid support for the genocide in Palestine from the religious right makes even more sense.
I have said before and will say again: if the genocide of Palestinians is the will of God, that is not a God worth worshipping.
Listen, i dont mean to sound like a reddit atheist, but... You ever think about how evangelical Chriatians very literally believe that there will be a genocide in which billions of humans, mostly just innocent everyday people, are condemned to suffer in hell?
And, like, that's the end. That's the finale. Of everything they believe. That's their solution for the world. A final one, if you will.
And they don't rebel. They don't say "hey, wait, that's a bit much" and appeal to their God to maybe reconsider. They don't even seem to really mind.
Instead, they worship. They conjure up an image of a genocidal maniac, and they worship it. The word "praise" is bandied about a lot. Praise. For a leader whose endgoal, very transparently, is genocide.
Suddenly a lot of history makes a little more sense.

In healthcare, you'll find that a lot of words and phrases that are most commonly used become acronyms.
Such as CPR and PRN.
In Gaza they have one called WCNSF.
It stands for, wounded child no surviving family.
For that to be made into an acronym... It's telling of how many times that phrase is said and documented.
Israel is inacting a genocide on the Palestinian people, on a population that is 50% children.
Children who are losing everything.

Being instrumentally and emotionally parentified in my childhood makes it so hard to relate to my peers...
like what do you mean you're in your 20s and don't know how to run a household? I did when I was like 14
what do you mean you don't feel responsible for your parents' emotions?
what do you mean you put yourself first and got to develop a sense of personality?
And then I realize they are the normal ones. not me. not my life.

In light of the new announcements made by the Governing Body, I wanted to share a few reminders. If these changes bring anyone hope for a better future within the religion, I am not trying to take that from you. I believe we are all allowed to be happy.
Women are now allowed to wear pants to meetings - But we are still not allowed to divorce abusive spouses. We are forbidden from having any position of authority within the congregation. We are still considered the "weaker sex" who must submit to their husband's. There is still the pressure to have sex with one's husband because it is a "marital duty."
Witnesses are now allowed to speak to disfellowshipped individuals - But only to try and convert them back. Not to reconnect with old friends or to even ask them how they are doing after losing everything. Witnesses still cannot talk to us as people, but only through the means of conversion.
Men can grow beards - but still lack basic autonomy over their bodies. Still no tattoos or piercings. Still no "flamboyant" attire that might label them as homosexual.
All in all, I see these changes as new manipulation tactics. As a way for the organization to say, look how progressive we are being! Look how welcoming and supportive we are! They are trying to deflect from the long list of constraints against the members. Trying to hide the irreversible pain and trauma that is still inflicted upon disfellowshipped individuals. These changes are breadcrumbs. They do nothing to reverse the institutionalized horrors of Jehovah's Witnesses
For anyone reading this: may you go in peace and happiness 🩷🩷

Your interests are not stupid, they are actually cool and interesting and worth persuing. You like them because they are enjoyable. No matter what someone else thinks.
