im sorry but ‘youre not your diagnosis’ is another form of toxic positivity. obv i get the sentiment, but my diagnosis effects my entire life. i may not ‘be’ my mental illness, but my mental illness is a part of me. lets not invalidate the suffering were unable to simply dismiss

Shoutout to disableds and the chronically ill who are stuck in toxic relationships or situations because they're dependent upon support, finances, and shelter. I see you.

This is a good time to remind you that if you experience hypersexuality, you aren’t gross or dirty or anything like that.
Whether it’s a trauma response (and yes, it can be a result of trauma) or something you experience as a result of something else, you’re valid.
You’re also valid if you’re sex repulsed or even both or fluctuate between the two.

I feel free
I need to hold on to this feeling, to remember it when times get tough.

sometimes it’s better refrain from deep introspection and allow yourself to just be.

Learn to articulate how you're feeling without accusing anyone of having bad intentions. You can say "I'm afraid of being alone" without saying "you're just going to leave me like everyone else." You can say "I need some reassurance" without saying "you probably don't love me anymore." You can say "I'm afraid I've hurt your feelings and I'd like to talk it through" without saying "you don't even like me anymore." You can say "I want to spend more time with you" without saying "you've gotten tired of me." You can say "I feel misunderstood" without saying "you always judge me." Try not to let your emotions get the best of you. Have a conversation focused on finding solutions instead of escalating the conflict.

bring back the habits that made you happy as a child. there’s no reason you should ever have to give up harmless things that bring you joy. you don’t have to age out of having fun. finger paint. write mediocre fanfiction and questionable poetry. put chocolate chips in your waffles. sing in the bath, and while working in the yard, and while washing your hands. hammer tunelessly on a piano. spin in circles until you fall down. climb a tree. just because you’re now in charge of your life doesn’t mean you’re expected to give up on the things that make life feel worth living

Every time you make someone smile, you make a positive difference. Every time you do someone a favor, you make a positive difference. Every time you take the time to listen to someone, you make a positive difference. Every time you are kind to someone, you make a positive difference. Every time you make someone laugh, you make a positive difference. Every time you use your knowledge and experiences to help or educate someone, you make a positive difference. Every time you help someone out, you make a positive difference. Every time you make someone feel understood, seen and validated, you make a positive difference. Every time you compliment someone, you make a positive difference. Every time you accept someone for who they are, you make a positive difference. All of this matters. All of this counts. Even the tiniest steps can add up to a long journey and every act of kindness matters. You matter. Don't let anyone convince you that your contributions are worthless.

“I will breathe. I will think of solutions. I will not let my worry control me. I will not let my stress level control me. I will simply breath. And it will be OK. Because I don’t quit.”
