It’s adorable how Kiyoka has Yurie as his adoptive mother and Miyo has Hana.
Although Kiyoka's childhood wasn't as hard as Miyo's, Hana is technically Miyo's own version of Yurie as some small relief while growing up in an abusive childhood and so Kiyoka gave it back to her as a way to regain her confidence.

Kiyoka initially felt shy and unsure of what to do whenever Miyo would start crying. But gradually he learned to offer his arms for comfort to take away some of her pain.

Aside for my favorite part of this scene being how Yurie was sassing Kiyoka here, one small - though, I think - remarkable difference here between the manga and the light novel that I noticed is how Kiyoka felt about his prior broken engagements. In the manga he said he wasn’t sure what kind of woman he’s looking for but in the light novel, the fiancées running away actually made him doubt that he could be a good husband even though he doesn’t regret showing them the door.
I’m guessing the manga made that change because it seemed out of character of someone who is a military officer commanding his own unit to be unsure of himself especially when the women previously bethrothed to him were ill-matched for him.
But in the short story that’s at the of volume 2 of the manga, Kiyoka did mention that he has a type of woman he’s interested in:

Maybe the other reason for the change is because the manga was published before this short story was added at the end of volume 2 was written. Because I’m not seeing this section in the light novel book 1 as I skim through the pages where this scene would take place.

I really like how Kiyoka's cure for Miyo's depression is drawing her into his embrace. He knows he's not good with words of comfort so he became a man of action.

This was such a beautiful character moment for Kiyoka. He knows that words of comfort aren’t his strong suit but he wanted to change that about himself to help Miyo.
In How to Find Your Soulmate Without Losing Your Soul, Jason and Crystalina Evert wrote:
"One of the purposes of marriages is sanctification. Through marriage, one's faults rise to the surface like oil in water so that the couple can correct them, thus growing in love and holiness. Such a purification of one's love might be a painful process, but it will forge a marriage that can last for ages. If a man is unwilling to change and be refined by the fire of authentic love, how will he last through good times and bad, sickness and health?”
Kiyoka wanted to correct a flaw in himself in order to stay with Miyo. In sharp contrast with Kouji.

I saw this comment in one of the chapters of the fanfic 'Look At Me' by @writingwife-83 and that inspired me to make a post about how I imagine Ben and Rey's children in the fic 😆. I don't know if this person wants to be featured, so just to be safe, I won't share your name.
Headcanon: two children. Solo twins ✨

They are very similar to their dad and mom. 😌
