just realized something during my latest jatp rewatch. at the beginning of edge of great carlos is ghost hunting with his ipad app and the lights off. once tia comes in and turns the lights on we get commentary from our boys and of course the iconic reggie proving ghosts are real scene. but that means alex, luke, and reggie were all just hanging out in the dark, watching carlos try to find them, and that’s just. so funny to me? like surely they’re making jokes and commentary throughout, but mostly they’re just entertained by whatever carlos is up to. and likely they’ve been hanging there ever since they poofed home after the finally free performance/end of previous episode
like it’s not news that the boys hang out with our other lifers during the day esp. from the scenes we see with reggie and ray, and like they gotta do something when not with julie. but it just makes me happy, like the idea of their invisible commentary and the cute hangout moments that nobody but them knows about and it makes me happy to see even little moments with more proof of this
and then the scene when reggie says “I’m gonna miss them” and alex says “yeah, me too” in the last ep it’s because they really ARE even though we’ve only been able to see limited moments of them together, they’ve been living with them like every day and it’s become part of their (after)lives. even though ray and carlos don’t really know about them, they’ve hung out with them countless times and truly are part of the family. and it makes my heart so happy and I can’t wait until ray and carlos knowingly welcome them to the family
I really hate it when parents of autistic kids use phrases like “I know they’re in there.” Bitch they’re right in front of you! You haven’t lost them! They’re not locked away like a final boss in a video game!! This is your child As Is! Love them for who they are not what you wish they would be! Fuck!
My goodness, I just realised how brilliant the writing in this show is. So, I don't know if this is a common knowledge and I am a dumbass but the foreshadowing in the first episode when the lady points asks Wilhelm and Erik to swap places!!!
And you know what happens, later... Wilhelm actually swaps (rather has to take) role of Erik as the crown prince.
The writing in the show, ugh! Beautiful! *chef's kiss*
