Many of the artists I follow are having their work stolen, and sold without their permission as NFTs. They are completely cut off from any income from these sales. Many of them are opposed to NFTs in the first place. They are also finding it difficult to have their work taken off these NFT selling websites. Some buyers are not given refunds for stolen or fraudulent works.

Please consider buying prints from the artist, supporting their Patreon or Kofi, or commissioning an artist instead of buying an NFT.

I recently lost a close friend and mentor to the Covid19 pandemic. He ran a gaming store where I grew up. Unfortunately it closed in the years following his move out of state.  Eight years ago, he gave me my first commission (the second image.) It was my first digital piece, using GIMP, and done using a mouse and keyboard.  It was the best I could do in 2013.  This helped launch my goal to become a professional artist.  He talked about opening another gaming store.  I promised myself I would redo the piece for him once that store was up and running, as a gift.  He will never see it.  So I am dedicating this in his memory instead. Inspired by Mollymauk’s Tarot Deck, but not an official card. Actually, its one I made up for Fragmented Reckoning (read on Ao3.)  I liked the imagery too much not to draw it. PLUS!! Six Elements: Water

Shachihoko are a Japanese mythological creature that has the head of a tiger and the body of a carp.  They are protective, guardian spirits.  Shachihoko are often seen adorning the eaves of Japanese Castles. The fish spirits are said to guard against fire, which was a deadly hazard to the wood and paper structures.  The long format of this is meant to evoke a Japanese hanging scroll. In the world of Kintsugi, the Tsukiginsei people believe water evokes serenity, gentleness, and playfulness.  Water is represented by the color blue and the predator Shachihoko.  Water is powerful, but it also flows around obstacles.  While it may change shape, water is always present, and always cycling from one place to the next.The character is a Dragon-Shapeshifter in his Merfolk form. Therapy Wolves, from Kintsugi

Kazuki, the human, is severely anxious and depressed. The two wolves, Kasumi (grey) and Manoru (Black) help him cope while keeping him safe. They are trained to fetch help when his symptoms get overwhelming. They’ve saved his life several times. Made because I needed comforting fluff. Completed End of Winter, 2019

Mer-Dragon I have these dragon shape-shiftering characters I love to sketch.  They have human, merfolk, dragon and sea serpent forms.  Many of them look more like ryuu and lung, but I do have a couple that are styled after European dragons.  Anyway, anything related to these guys is tagged ‘Freedom.’ Completed Summer 2018
