You know what is my single favourite thing in the season 1 finale?
How human Luke is.
In the books, when it is revealed he is the traitor it feels like a completely different person. Like all previous bonding, helping and comforting didn't even happen. It looks like there was a switch in Luke's head and *click* he is someone else. Someone who couldn't care less. Someone who will destroy anyone opposing him. Even if they were once friends.
In the series I see him as someone broken. Someone who is convinced that he is right and wants others to see it too. He is not a heartless b*stard but a hurt teen, who was let down too many times. He is not a villain. He is someone who needed saving but the one who saved him was the villain.
And I just know that everything that will happen later on will hurt even more.
Because it didn't happen to a close-minded villain.
It happens to a human

BUT YOU HATED WHEN MOVIES DID SOMETHING DIFFERENT
Yes, I did. Still do. The difference is that while movies mocked books, tried to force certain things, took away the depth of most if not all characters the series gives us something completely opposite.
New series explore the characters more, even more than books do, give us so much more diversity that is not forced, creates a certain vibe of those kids and shows that they, like us are humans, that are affected by what happens to them

CONFESSION TIME
I entered Riordanoverse fandom because during my 6th grade our substitute teacher played Percy Jackson Movies. I liked it enough to want to read the books and my classmate, our Golden Retriever Boy™, told me books were really different from movies. I brushed it off and went to our local library to check out the first book. After reading it I went over to my classmate and told him he was right. And we ranted about the movies for a solid hour
I never had much of a relationship with him. He was polite to me as he was to everyone. We sometimes shared chocolate. Don't have any contact with him now

I am currently visiting my aunt in another country and in order of bot paying a hellish amount of cash for internet in roaming we are currently living on downloaded movies etc ( my happy marriage rocks and I am crying over Miyo and Kiyoka). So far not so bad right?
Except
My brother downloaded THE MOVIES THAT SHALL NOT BE NAMED also known as *shudder* PJO live action adaptation. And he watched it with full volume bc he knows I hate it
But it gets worse
He actually enjoyed that thing and started watching both parts at least once a day
We share a room
And he doesn't believe in frickin headphones

I already mentioned that I don't get why fandom is so hyped about Nico and Reyna relationship. Same goes for all this Jason and Percy being bros. They weren't that close nor had a really great friendship. I think Jason was closer to Nico than to Percy.

One time during "Percy&Estelle" outing a bunch of monsters attacked them. Percy obviously tried to kill them but there were to many and one of them managed to get Estelle hostage. Percy nearly had a panick attack when he saw this and started crying. And then something crazy happened. Water exploded and killed the monster. Peecy knew it wasn't his doing. He was too weak and he never had this much control over water's shape. And after few seconds a monster was gone and some man was holding Estelle. Percy at first didn't believe his eyes. Poseidon, his father held Percy's little sister like it was the most precious being it the world. Then without a word he handed her over to his son and disapeared.

You know how Gods think they can control everything round them? Yea, lol, no.
If you guys had control over everything Luke would never become Cronos Ally. Hermes would not allow it.
Hyacinth would be alive, Apollo would have protected him.
Bianca would never died. Hades would protect her.
Poseidon would protect Sally.
Jason would live. Hera would never allow that.
Percy and Annabeth would never fall into Tartarus. Poseidon would protect them.
No war would happen. No god would let that happen.

Recently I read Daughter of the Deep and I must say Im totally in love. Main character, a female teenage girl, have period during her quest. I know its a small detail but its the first time I saw any character in any book having this kind of problem. And most important thing is that her period is realistic. Like she felt a lot of pain, she had to change her pads, take some meds and was feeling generally unwell. It was amazing.

I feel like Jason got a lot of unnecessary hate just beacuse SoN started with his POV. I get why a lot of people do not like this but for me its a nice start. You are starting a new serie with new character. With a totally different adventures and plot. And starting HoO with Percys POV would be meaningless. We would start everything with Percys amnesia, not knowing what happened between Greeks and Romans, what happened and where are the gods. Starting this book serie with new characters POV make a good reason to explain everything slowly, from the beggining. Beside, reading their points of views helped us understand them and know them better. If we started with Percy, new characters would be overshadowed. The Lost Trio adventures started all that serie and gave us a break from Percy. Do not hate me. I love our lovely demigod but reading another book written by his POV would remind me too much about PJO. HoO and PJO, despise happening in the same universe and having common characters, are completly diffrent series.
A lot of people also hate the idea of POV in Riordanoverse. For me its great! While in any other books we see everything written by one character (apart of TKC), here we can see world hiw others see it. POVs helps us understand characters mentality, morals etc and gives them some personality. When I was reading PJO I noticed that many of campers were so plain. It was like only a few of them had character development and almost all of them had the same scheme. HoO shows us people has their own way of being, thinking and acting. Everyone has their own life. Everything affect them in different ways.
