What got me to stop watching left/bread-tube and do my own reading was when one of the biggest left-tubers made a video about how sex trafficking isn't real and that it was a scare tactic invented to hinder sex workers. This was the thing that woke me up because my mother was trafficked. She was a Caribbean/south American woman who signed up for a work abroad program advertised where she was, to be a maid/live-in nanny, and when she arrived they tried to prostitute her. it was all a scheme to get desperate women/girls trapped in a country with no help to into sex slavery. She cried and acted up when she was taken to a house in a secluded area filled with women. She couldn't go back home to poverty and she didn't want to have sex with strange men for money. She'd spent all her money getting here (they made her buy her own tickets). A lady at the airport (prolly working with the sex traffickers) told her she has a male cousin that would put her up for a while if she cooked/cleaned. That cousin went on to beat, rape, and steal whatever money she worked for 10+ years. They trapped her with a horribly abusive man that threatened to call immigration on her every time she threatened to leave and trapped her with a baby. He made her life hell, but my mom still talked about that lady at the airport like a savior. She was the lucky one. Because she never saw the other girls who came with her for the same work abroad scheme again and only heard horrible things in the news. That is when I thought maybe white kids raised middle class in the UK, Canada, and America don't know fuck about how the real world works. Maybe quite a few of them are perverts with stakes in the maintenance of worldwide sexual trafficking and sex slavery.

would have loved for amber to have won the appeal but i completely get why she didn’t put herself through that torturous process again. but at the end of the day, amber is free to speak her mind and johnny drastically dropped the charges from $8.5million to $1million (of which her insurance company will pay, not her) which if that man weren’t on the verge of losing the appeal, he would not have done. may he continue to rot and never know a peaceful moment in his life 🙏🙏

holy fucking shit. The American national institute of health found in a study that tracked 33,000 women over 11 years, that women who use chemical hair straightening products more than just 4 times a year, their risk of uterine cancer DOUBLES. the risk goes higher and higher the more straightening products are used. This is talking about going to the salon and them getting your hair straightened. The most impacts by far are black women, who get their hair straightened more and start straightening earlier. I'm talking, separate from this specific study, 3+ times higher lifetime risk overall of aggressive uterine cancer than women of other races.

I have talked before about how many "harmless" products like hair products, nail products, etc. Not only are poisoning women, but disproportionately affect black women, who use far more feminine products due to standards of misogynoir meaning that "natural" black women are seen as masculine and unclean and unprofessional. But women of all races are being KILLED due to femininity. People scoff at how women used to die from wearing makeup full of lead and arsenic and asbestos, but it just keeps happening over and over again.
