Rolling up to the knight's guild in a chainmail brayette and low-cut mail chausses watching my fellow knights visibly fluster under their helmets as their gaze follows up to my maille voider scandalously worn without a breastplate

I feel like, a lot of the time, outrage for adults works the way that pain works for three-year-olds. Like, a little kid falls over and there's that moment of looking askance at their parent and if their parent looks concerned, then and only then do they start crying in pain. Likewise, I think that outrage is very much a socially mediated emotion, and that things that are considered outrageous in one time or culture are just kind of glazed over in another time or culture, and whether you feel it or not is all just down to whether or not someone validates it. Right now, I think that social media platforms have a financial incentive to validate all forms of outrage, and I don't think that that's healthy for society.

a citadel is one of the classic things you can launch a desperate final all-out attack against.

whenever i see talk about third spaces people pretty much always mean bars, or other places of consumption. Nobody really talks about something like a public bathhouse that would be a massive boon for local homeless people, or making local laundromats a free public service. These can, and I think absolutely should be valuable and very utilitarian third spaces for community building.
