Eastern Europe is usually associated with the Slavs, and I don’t like that. Jews, Tatars, Roma, Gagauz, Greeks, Armenians, Finno-Ugric peoples, Yakuts, Chechens, Circassians, etc. etc. are the same full-fledged inhabitants of this part of the earth, like the Slavs, despite the fact that in relation to many non-Slavs there is a long history of discrimination. Moreover, the ultra-rights are increasingly spewing xenophobia, anti-Semitism and hatred of the peoples of the Caucasus, and this is troubling.

This child who came to my house tonight is literally the funniest human being on the planet. She complimented me on having both lollipops and mini Three Musketeers available because "a lot of houses these days don't give you a fruit flavor option." She was very solemn about this.

While the infamous tumblr porn ban was obviously very bad, there was one very very funny thing that came about from it. I remember that people were mourning how it would effectively ban Fingers In His Ass Sunday. And people made tributes to prepare for this loss, some people even creating beautiful comics of Sans and Komaeda embracing death together, a huge number of people collectively mourning this loss together.

And then the Sunday after the ban, we just kept posting Fingers In His Ass Sunday like absolutely nothing had changed I love this stupid site.

I like when people say things like “respect blue collar workers!” and then the same people turn around and completely dismiss the years of training it takes to be able to do that type of work safely and effectively.

“Telling people not to do their own electrical work because it’s dangerous is classist bc not everyone can afford an electrician” “I can’t believe that plumber charged me so much money for less than an hour of work, what a scam!” “In the post-capitalist utopia everyone will just take turns doing all types of blue-collar work, instead of years-long apprenticeships we’ll just give them a course in high school or something” “Building and safety codes are just pointless bureaucracy meant to stop the average citizen from being able to build their own structures” “I would love to be a farmer and just hang out tending to plants all day”

These are all things I have seen on this website by self-proclaimed worker’s rights advocates and I hope I don’t have to explain how incredibly insulting and dismissive it is when it’s not outright dangerous. There’s a LOT that needs to be fixed about our current labor system but “pretending like training and safety protocols aren’t important” and “pretending that those jobs are actually really easy and any layperson can do them” are uh. Not good solutions.

I love the idea of dead gods. Not in the sense of “hey i killed something supernaturally strong” but in the sense of “i killed it and it’s still a god.” It is still worshipped. prayers are still answered. miracles are performed in its name, even as it lies pierced by a thousand swords and burning with chemical fire. even as it drifts through vacuum, decapitated and bleeding molten rock. in cosmic spite of being shot through each eye and hurled into a plasma reactor, it still radiates the power of the divine in a way that primitive death cannot smother. the nature of godchild is not so simple as to be tied to the mortality, or immortality, of any living being.
