i know i rarely upload my art here, but i’ve been working on a mini-comic about what’s behind us and what lies ahead, and i wanted to share it.

transcription begins:

An overhead shot of the living room in Darkwing’s tower base, identified as “Audobon Bay Bridge, 11:34 PM”. Drake Mallard and Gosalyn Waddlemeyer sit conversing on the sofa, having shared a late night snack - evident by the cookies and mugs on the nearby table. Drake crosses his arms comfortably and says “Your grandfather sounds like an amazing man, Gos.” Gosalyn on the opposite end of the couch, curled up in her purple hoodie, smiles with gratitude. “So... What was it like for you growing up?” She asks. Drake looks away nervously and replies “Oh, Um... Well... I didn’t, um, have anyone like your grandpa when I was a kid.” Gosalyn, upset, asks “You didn’t?” Drake clarifies while stammering, looking nervous - “Yeah, um... I mean. Well, I - uh, they, uh... my parents were around, um, but... yeah, they were never... Um. Y- They just weren’t very good people.” Gosalyn, feeling a little guilty for having asked, looks down and says “Oh, um... I’m sorry...” She then gives a small sympathetic smile, and continues: “It’s a good thing you’re nothing like them.” A shot of the lunchbox as a reminder of Drake’s life and mantra is seen. Drake tears up, and then replies “Thanks, Gos.”

hey guys just wanted to let you know i’m asking for the removal of my work from the lgbt duck zine that ran last year and this year. there’s a lot of information as to why i’ve made this choice & why several other contributors are joining me on the twitter @/dropthezine . i also donated 75 usd to the Black Trans women fund, due to not only the fact that the money hasn’t been (as far as we’re all aware) been donated from EITHER run, but the fact that the second run was released (rushed out) on Juneteenth was particularly upsetting. i hope you guys can understand my decision. nothing but love for my community that’s uplifted me, uplifted my friends, and hopefully we move forward stronger than ever. i’ll be producing more art soon... once dt17 comes off hiatus <3
