My own opinion…

Does anyone notice that these cop shows can only depict “strong female characters only by emasculating the males? I’m rewatching Cold Case and I can’t get over how annoying Lilly is. And how her boss has “fatherly affection” for her so she literally gets away with murder while her male coworkers do not(except I guess Stillman *did* take that one fall for Scotty).

FBI is the same with Maggie. I don’t think she’s really had to face punishment for any of her spontaneous decisions that go against orders. 🙄🙄🙄

Okay…

I get it if you’re a fan and “Alive” is nostalgic for me, I won’t lie but …

Saying that it’s the better version and that “La Sociedad de la Nieve” is a copy/paste of it is just not true. Stop deluding yourself.

Alive was written very soon after the rescue and did exactly what the survivors did not want. It dramatized their story. Hollywood took it further. Sure, some survivors got involved in that movie behind the scenes but that was so they could try and make sure Hollywood didn’t take it completely off the rails. It doesn’t even have the real names of most of the passengers and crew.

Also, Piers Paul Read is an American journalist while Pablo Vierci personally knows and has worked very closely with the survivors to tell the story the way it happened.

I think that should also say a lot.

Lily Gladstone got snubbed by the Academy. She “made history” at the Globes, got the SAG and got the BAFTA. But of course the Academy is gonna give the Oscar to the pretty white girl with the famous mother out of nowhere instead.

I have zero beef with Kuai Liang as a character, in fact I loved his Sub-Zero. But am I the only one who still hopes that the new Mortal Kombat 1 timeline still brings back Hanzo at some point? He’s my favorite character and that thing with the AU Scorpion showing up wasn’t enough for me.

i understand why gereskel is considered a rarepair but at the same time i dont because. thats. they’re the Best Friends to Lovers. they’re the Childhood Friends to Lovers. they’re the We Clung To Each Other to Survive The Hardships We Didn’t Choose To Go Through to Lovers.

“they dont interact much” WHO CARES. WHEN HAS ANYONE EVER CARED!!

we know they’ve gone through the horrors of kaer morhen together, we know they grew up together, we know they’re still physically affectionate with one another AFTER DECADES OF BEING ON THIS LONELY DEATH-RIDDLED PATH and god no one NO ONE will understand Geralt’s soul the way Eskel does. so yeah.

Eskel has a grand total of maybe 16 lines in the books and 3 minutes in the show so i understand but not quite. not really.

Good job. 👏 I wish I had been warned like that.

I will never get over them deciding that one of the most beloved characters of the franchise, “the Witcher with a face like a nightmare but a heart of pure gold” was killed off in the same goddamn episode he was introduced in.

Especially when they also decided to further disrupt book canon by creating like 10 extra Witchers, all with no names or personalities, and all simply with the intent to kill them off at the end of the season.

What was so hard about using one of them in this “mutated into a leshy” scenario? Especially since this “lesson” Geralt was supposed to learn from never really manifested. He was upset over Eskel dying for like five minutes before he and Vesemir threw his remains to the wolves! Ciri will also never learn her lesson not to judge people by appearance either considering they turned Eskel into a dick.

Excuse my rant. I have a lot of feelings about the mess the show is creating in this fandom. Hell, even Henry Cavill who was BORN to play Geralt left because of how far off canon the show is going.

Way late to the party but I am still PISSED about how badly Eskel was both done dirty and absolutely wasted as a character in Netflix’s Witcher. They also seemed to realize that they forgot(for non-book readers) to show just HOW MUCH Eskel meant to Geralt so they also threw in that little “flashback” which also did nothing.

Will I even stop being salty as fuck about that?

Nope. Not a chance.

That killed the show for me. That and how crappy Jaskier is also handled. I didn’t bother with season three.
