Dungeon Master with four finished campaigns under my belt (queer - 26) Join the Party, Bombarded, Critical Role, and more! I tag spoilers! (+ TWs on request!)
With TSS coming up I thought it was the perfect excuse to make myself a new character so here’s Alvah! She’s a reborn tiefling grave cleric who strives to work against the natural order, trying to achieve eternity for all 👁️⚰️🤍
It’s been a while since I made myself a character and I've had my eye on grave cleric for some time now, plus don’t have many tieflings so this was the perfect opportunity to finally make a character that was both!
do you guys ever think about how Wyll is introduced as an archetypal fantasy hero, but then it turns out he’s a warlock, who made a pact with a devil. Do you ever think about how Ansur is described as this fantastical dragon of myth, but then when you find him, he’s turned into an undead monstrosity. Do you think about how when Wyll does the right thing, he is punished to become more monstrous. Do you think about how as Wyll’s warlock powers grow, his spells get more horrific. Do you think about how Ansur was killed by his closest friend. Do think about how Wyll was cast out by the most important person in his life. do you guys ever think about Ansur and Wyll.
As someone who works 8/9 hours from monday to friday, I'm genuinely curious about how y'all handle the (ever increasing) long episodes and how/when you choose to watch them.
Lae'zel's reaction to Mindflayer!Tav is honestly the most real one. She knows the Mindflayer isn't Tav anymore; this is the tadpole, having completed ceremorphosis. The person you used to be is gone. What is left is the tadpole, and your body, twisted beyond recognition.
The Mindflayer might have your memories; it might even think it is you, but they're not the same person.
Like, Gale proposing to Mindflayer!Tav is cute and all, but the man should honestly know better.
Does this mean Mindflayer!Tav is automatically evil? No. Omeluum is a good example of a friendly Illithid. But Omeluum is also not its host. The Emporer is not Balduran either.
At best, Mindflayer!Tav (or Mindflayer!Karlach, etc.) is an extreme case of partialism (where something of the Host's mind is left over instead of being completely subsumed). This is also likely the case with the Emporer.
TL;DR: Lae'zel would not love you as a worm and I love her for being real like that.
Gortash redemption wouldn’t work because he does not give a fuck about growing or improving or breaking the cycle he’s putting fireworks into teddy bears for refugee orphans because fuck ‘em. He’s cooked. Ketheric thinks he’s too far gone the sunk cost fallacy already has his hooks in him. It’s over. Orin though. Six months of secure attachments to people who see her as an individual, an introduction to art mediums that are not finger painting with intestines, a trip to the circus (fun), regular exposure to the sun, and a blunt later and she is picking up trash by the river and voting in municipal elections.
no words for how much I adore these two characters and the ways their journeys parallel one another's... take this as part character study (what if they helped each other heal!) and part ship content (they were made for each other...) anyways. the shadowzel illness never stops
Sometimes, when you play dnd, the question isn't "Is this an effective and economical use of my limited spell slots?" but rather, "Would this be really fucking funny?"
Sesuj Toracsi's (they/them) end-of-the-campaign appearance at level 17, with 15 levels in cavalier fighter and two levels in war magic
Imagine disarming a martial fighter on the battlefield, only to get a face full of Fire Bolt. You fool. You've activated their trap card. They cast Spellbook to the Face 📕🔥🔥
