Hi! I'm Niamh! I am an artist, and baker. Bi as the day is long and from the midwest despite my name. I renounced my bible belt origins, for the peaceful life of a mountain gal. Rain makes for a wonderful day.
I saw some posts and accounts that really bummed me out tonight. Some people are so proud to be transphobic and it’s disgusting. I’m terrified that I accidentally follow some TERFS without realizing it.
Show trans people some love in the midst of all of this hate that is still going around.
It's a very warm activity. I have 3 months left and I plan on going on until I hit 2ft in width. Its currently 2 ft long. A 2×2 blanket sounds just right for my first crochet project in years. I plan on taking some black maybe and embroidering the baby's name on the corner and putting matching tassels on the corners or maybe the edges. I thought it could be a nice decorative gift or a useful one in the early years.
“What you see is a myosin protein dragging an endorphin along a filament to the inner part of the brain’s parietal cortex which creates happiness. Happiness. You’re looking at happiness.”
Quick and crusty French bread! Needed crusty bread to go with soup for dinner but had nothing on hand. While in the past, it’s been sheer laziness that’s prevented me from quickly running out to the store, now it’s dictated more by limiting social exposure with COVID-19…so fresh, homemade bread, here we come!
This was very easy to throw together. Chewy and tasty results. Could have been a little crunchier on the crust (and clearly I tossed too much flour in the bowl it was proofing in - hence all the white cling!) but a satisfying loaf nonetheless. Our pantry has housed about a teaspoon of local honey left from one of our recent trips (we didn’t eat it all: it just exploded in Mark’s bag) so I used that in lieu of the sugar; my second proof was also like 1-2 hours long, just because of other stuff going on in the house at the time. Otherwise followed the recipe as directed!
During a tour through an old palace, you hear the sound of a piano playing. It draws your attention as you walk into a regal room, not on the tour, and you see an elegant woman sitting at the piano. She doesn’t talk or look at you, but once you cross the threshold, the doors slam shut, and she turns to you and asks, “Where would you like to go?”
i may not know a lot abt life but i know it’s how keith haring said “touching people’s lives in a positive way is as close as I can get to an idea of religion” and how kurt vonnegut said “and I urge you to please notice when you are happy, and exlaim or murmur or think at some point, if this isn’t nice, I don’t what is,” and olga jacoby said “to leave a good example to those I love [is] my only understanding of immortality” and felix poswolsky said “I think we found the answer to the universe which was, quite simply: spend more time with your friends”
Ok so let me just start by saying this is some VERY beginner stuff that a close witchy friend gave me and I figured I would put it here to share with the world!
Begin with a simple phrase
I’m going to use the phrase “I am safe and protected” because it is a little more complex
Take out all the vowels
In the instance of this phrase we are then left with “m sf nd prtctd”
Take out duplicate letters
That will leave us with “m sf nd prtc”
Match the alphabet to letters…
There is no other way to describe this than with a picture…
Match the letters to numbers
So “msfndprtc” = 416547923
Match the numbers together with lines on your circle
So another picture is… my only form of help!
Your sigil is finished!!!
So this is what mine looked like when I was totally done adding my flourish to it!
So this is… how it’s done? I know I probably did a TERRIBLE job at explaining this but I am willing to help anyone who has any questions!!!
