i think it's crazy that we're getting the story of a man in his 30s coming to terms with being bisexual, presented in a way that's incredibly authentic and real and done with genuine care because the actor involved is incredibly passionate about telling the story yet people will really just reduce it to "and he's in love with his best friend." i get it, buddie has chemistry, i've enjoyed them for a while but do people really not recognize how harmful it is to just talk about in terms of buck liking eddie? they're actually doing so much work to not make it a stereotype but then people will dismiss buck's very real struggle & feelings for men (who aren't eddie) and basically weaponize his bisexuality as if he's JUST into eddie and not men as a whole. it's frustrating. as if these coming out stories aren't typically framed as "gay just for this one guy." people don't have to like tommy, whatever, but buck's feelings for him are very real and you can recognize that while still believing there's something between him and eddie because it's not like he's limited to having feelings just for one guy. bucktommy deserve to play things out, buck deserves to discover things about himself with tommy, and it absolutely needs to be separate from a potential buddie storyline. ideally eddie would go through his self-discovery separate from buck, too. it's not about them as a couple. it's about who they are individually.

I think the biggest moment of foreshadowing for Buck’s bisexuality was when he rode a bike to chase down a car while the song “bicycle race” by Queen played in the background

Do you know how frustrating it is to watch a man who is VERY gay for his best friend dance around his feelings for a whole book only to realize them to late, have a sad but beautiful gay moment with him for like five pages (at most), have to leave him, lose him, and get a mysterious letter from him and find out he may be alive only for the book to leave you with the ambiguous ending?

At least in the cameo I saw he thought that tevan and kinley were good ones. He especially talked about kinley a lot, it was cute ❤️ he also thought firefly was cute (his actual words) and uuuuh.... he def said 🚫 bummy 🚫

I think I saw someone say that he talked about shipnames in another cameo as well but I'm not sure.

i am glad that you take a slight step back to protect your peace and happiness when the fandom is making you feel not that good! you are not alone. after the past days, i've decided to filter/blacklist most of the 911-related tags again for my own sanity :( with 911, i immediately feel the "fandom burnout" creep up to me after only a couple weeks of being exposed to new content (cough fandom war cough) online.

at least i can still follow a few trusted people on tumblr (you, for example!!) to still feel like the enjoyment for buck, tommy, and bucktommy is shared ♥ i hope we can all keep enjoying what we enjoy in peace, no matter how that looks like for us. i'm sending good vibes your way x

Yeah, there's a reason why I stay out of most fandoms :) I realize that now. I've been lurking around for several years and seen that things in this fandom especially can get a bit... intense. So back to mostly lurking I go, haha :)

And rn, I'm just enjoying what we're going to get with bucktommy (or kinley??? i liked lou's explanation on why it would be a cute ship name) We don't know what their story is going to be and how long it's going to last but I sure as hell will be here for the ride. If Buddie happens, it happens and I'm sure I'll enjoy it too but rn that ship is giving me some confusing vibes, probably bc I don't want their relationship to be ruined (I know, a weird thought but... eh, you didn't ask for this so I won't tell lol) or maybe it's because of the fans. I don't know.

I've been thinking about all of this WAAAAAY too much, which is exactly why I need to take a step back, lol :)
