question , can we buy hp merch from resellers such as depop / mecari or is it best not to buy anything at all ?

just wondering where safe endulgance of childhood nostalgia ends and detrimental suffort of a horrible person begins !

I mean, I'm no expert, but if it helps, here's the consequences as I understand it:

If you buy secondhand stuff, like an HP shirt from a thrift store, at least JKR won't get any money for it. But if you wear it in public, be aware that it might also send a message you didn't intend. Pro-JKR people might think you're one of them, while some trans folks and allies might feel wary of you.

If you also have some clear sign of support like a trans flag tattoo, it might help, but then someone who's not super informed might think the controversy isn't so serious, because hey look there's a person who is pro trans rights and still bought HP stuff! (They won't know you didn't buy it new or how hard you thought about it.)

On the other hand, if it's something that will only ever be seen by people who already know you, like a pajama shirt, then it probably has a more neutral effect.

Does that make sense? Hope it helps you figure out where to draw the line to fit your values. If anyone else wants to weigh in please do.

Here's your periodic reminder of why it's so important not to buy any Harry Potter merch or watch anything JKR profits from.

It isn't about cancelling problematic media, idgaf. We're capable of reading books we already own with a critical eye.

It's about not giving more power to someone who is using it to materially harm our community.

I haven't purchased a HP item in close to a decade - I use the books I already had as doorstops or to prop a laptop up for meetings nowadays.

There is NO "death of the author" with JK Rowling - she controls and continues to profit from her IP, and uses that money to fund hate groups.

“So, no. You don’t get to say anything to me anymore,” Hermione added her eyes filled with tears, but also with unrelenting determination. That same determination Narcissa had been first captivated by, was now used to shatter her heart.

Please, smile at me once more. Oh, what she would not have given to see even a hint of softness in her now.

Hermione backed away from her, before tearing her eyes from Narcissa and storming out. Narcissa was left standing alone and her throat ached as she fought to keep at bay the tears her heart wanted to cry out.

Please, don’t leave me. She begged in her mind.

When a sob tried to escape she covered her mouth with her hand and only then realized how hard she was shaking. A sob, muffled by her palm, finally got out and she dropped on the couch as the tears came.

Please, come back to me. But as much as she hoped, it was never going to be.

After all, it was exactly what she deserved. Her stubbornness and arrogance had cost her the only person that could love her. For real. Not for her titles or for her social status. Just for her.

Please, let me try again.

She fell on her side, hugging a pillow and her heart ached. She closed her eyes and whispered her last plea -

“Please, Hermione. I love you.”

Good afternoon, do you mind translating your works in ao3 into other languages with an indication of the author of the work? I would like to do the translation of one of the works I liked.

Over the years, I've gotten several asks and messages about permission to translate my fics, and I always hesitated. Sometimes I didn't reply at all because I was so unsure. I love words and choose them carefully. Especially with Extinction, which is so close to my heart, I was afraid that too much might get lost in translation.

From now on, I'm saying yes. Yes, you can translate my fics! All I ask is that you:

Let me know what language you're working on

Send me a link when it's online, and

Credit my fic with a link back to it.

This way, others will know if a language is already in progress, and readers can easily find translations and the original English.

My perspective has changed because now I'm living in another country, surrounded every day by a language I'm still learning. Struggling to understand people, struggling to skim search results for things I need, struggling to read the news and library books.... It's hard, even in a country where people treat me well and try to help me. That moment of relief when we understand each other is everything. The important thing is communication. So translate anything you want! I'm not afraid anymore of how my story might change. I'm too busy being afraid of accidentally buying food with ingredients I can't eat, lol.

If you think the effort of translation is worth it to share my story with more people, I'm super humbled and grateful.

Just a character study while I work on a few storyboards - yes, I decided to use Jorja Smith as a reference for Hermione and Angelina Jolie as a reference for Narcissa because WHY NOT

If you haven’t read Klexos yet, go give it a try! It’s a Cissamione story in which Narcissa loses her memory while hunting down a wizarding and muggle mafia, and Hermione has to help her solving the case. Also, they are married and have two absolutely adorable daughters - but, argh, try convincing Cissy about that!
