a six year old idea that i’m still apparently into: au where it was the water tribe who attacked, katara and sokka still found aang in the iceberg 100 years later, but then, kind of tried to kill him. luckily aang escaped in time to team up with a pair of plucky young fire nation siblings who ought to have inherited the throne, you know, if the water tribe hadn’t laid waste to their country. mostly, i just like drawing katara in military gear, and enjoy thinking about the political intrigue of two ruling branches of the water tribe.

u know the confession scene

where xie lian is on the verge of a panic attack at the prospect of a nightmare from his past catching up to him, when hua cheng is holding is hand, and he’s instantly calmed, brought back to the present, but the look on hua cheng’s face has absolute self-loathing and fear on it and he’s reminded of the kid on beizi hill who was scared and trembling but stood his ground to protect him. of the child who was starved, beaten by other children daily but still went out of his way to get a flower for his statue. of the small boy who trashed around screaming and crying, ‘im not cursed, im not cursed’. of the man who held him moments ago and told him ‘how could i ever let you go’. and so he rushes to return the man’s embrace, hoping to convey all the whirling emotions he feels for him in one simple gesture, because its true. how could he ever let him go.
