DUMB MONEY (2023) Grade: C+
Not as much charm as the #BigShort or #WolfonWallStreet comparably. Still strong, with skilled actors in almost every role. #PaulDano and #VincentDOnofrio are underrated comic actors. It was missing something though. Someone from GameStops POV would had been interesting.

NOMADLAND (2020) Grade: B-
Good indie film of char study. The DP work is also great. Frances McDormand was wonderful & David Strathairn I've always thought to be underrated. The Non-Actors were hit or miss.

MINARI (2020) Grade: B
They developed each character so equally beautiful, I think one could argue each is the films POV. Loved the composition and acting. The grandma is one of the best written characters I've seen in awhile.

LOW TIDE (2019) Grade: C+
Clever plot and good production value. Could have had more mystery surrounding it. Some characters don't get flushed out enough. Ending was a let down. Still a good indie film.

COHERENCE (2013) Grade: B-
Felt like a classic sci-fi plot, like a classic Star Trek episode, just a level darker. Clever twist and ending. Got a little slow in the 2nd act. It's low budget but well produced.

I SEE YOU (2019) Grade: C-
Everyone keeps talking about the twist, but once they show the main one early on, the rest are out of left field, make no sense, and make so many of character look like idiots.

LEAVE THE WORLD BEHIND (2023) GRADE: B
Clever, great dialogue with a touch of suspense. Will grab your attention and keep it. Loved the composition Sam Esmail comes up with. Adds to the tension.

REPTILE (2023) Grade: C
Starts off with a good 1st act. Has your attention. Some good moments, missing a better explanation for the hook. The turns weren't pulse pounding. A little long as well. Didn't need to be 2 hours.

THE PERFECTION (2018) Grade: C
I give them props for some out of the box thinking on the narrative and editing. Little cheesy and corny, but the originality keeps you watching.

THE MENU (2022) Grade: C+
Had some intrigue in the start. It was lacking a hook, a reason, backstory. The ending was that cool either. Better grade cause there are some good acting and wow moments.

JUNGLELAND (2019) Grade: C
Interesting concept that had some potential. The plot was a mix bag. The ending was a let down and a little cheesy. Jack O'Connell was good though.

A BIGGER SPLASH (2015) Grade: B-
It grew on me. The characters are well written and interesting. The climax isn't a wow moment but good enough bridge to the third act and overall the ending was average, but plausible. It's a film full of tension. They also had some wild zoom-ins that somehow worked with the Italy setting.

THE WOMAN IN THE WINDOW (2021) Grade: C-
It's definitely cheesy and a rip off of a couple storylines. It has a crazy good cast in almost every speaking line. The longest ending ever it felt, blew LOTR out in that category. The ending was not a great twist, at least a 1 of the endings.

ARKANSAS (2020) Grade: C
Had some cool scenes. The Vince Vaughan story line half was interesting. I didn't care for the Liam Hemsworth story line much. Ending was average. Got a little bumpy with the flashbacks.

THE KILLER (2023) Grade: C+
Couldn't get into it. Just when I thought it was getting interesting & basically ends. It's missing something? A greater plot needed to be exposed? Still stylish & shot beautifully by Fincher.

I'M THINKING OF ENDING THINGS (2020) Grade: C
Very Charlie Kaufman in every way. Strange. I think one of his hardest scripts yet to follow. The tones changes suddenly. I wonder it differs from the novel? However, the more I chew on it all, I'm liking it more and more. Could be a cult classic one day.

THE SILENCING (2020) Grade: C-
Nothing to see here. Just stolen material from other crime, serial killer movies the last few years. Starts ok actually but then a horrible 3rd act. Couldn't wait for it to end.
