Aldrif, the eldest of the Odinskin, was not taken by Angels shortly after her birth. Her mother ensured, through enchantment, that only those who were a trusted few knew of the babe’s whereabouts when the winged women descended to wage war on Asgard. This saved the girl’s life. When the Angels retreated, she was returned to the outside world.

As she grew, she learned tactical stratagem, how to use various weaponry (having a particular affinity for swordplay), and some spell work- though she was more keen on physical conflict, rather than ethereal. (She did it to humor her mother and tutors.)

She heard stories as a child of the Valkyrior, those who escorted the worthy to Valhalla. These stories piqued her interest, as she wanted to roam freely unless called upon. She had no interest in potentially taking the throne at any time.

When she deemed herself old enough, she insisted that her father let her join the Valkyries. Despite both her parents seeming reluctant, and hesitant, they agreed, knowing full well their daughter was of strong will and mind.

Thus it was. Aldrif Odinsdottir simply became Aldrif- until a day when she was escorting a slain soul to the promised land. The name Angela caught her ears- the woman’s name. She had fought valiantly, and with more ferocity than Aldrif had seen most humans bare in their lifetimes. Hearing tales of the woman’s life as they journeyed, she decided she would take the name as an alias. The doing was less because she didn’t want her kinsmen to forget who she was, but rather to protect them.

From that day, to the common day, she has been Angela.
