A HUFF escapes her and a hand comes up to rub her forehead . she swears a headache is coming on .
❝ yes , well , for the people inside time , it's the middle of the night . and i was doing my best to sleep . and instead , you're enamored by a SENTINEL HEAD . ❞ she tugs him by the back of his robe to pull him out of the room and shut the door .
❝ yes , loki . a gift . from you , if you want to know . it was very sweet . ❞ she does not sound very sweet . she sounds very blasé ( as if anything about loki could be blasé ) . ❝ if you're going to keep me up in the middle of the night - ❞ now that's a thought , ❝ - did you at least bring whisky ? ❞
A careless wave of the hand, dismissing the idea that darkness equals nighttime, which in turn equals bedtime. They haven’t slept in millenia. “Time’s relative – when you live outside of it you can do what you want.” The words are unfocused and thoughtless, eyes still trained immovably on the robotic head before them.
“No. No. Hang on just a second. What do you mean it was a gift? A gift from who? Why? You can’t just say that and expect it to be good enough.” Forehead scrunches a little, annoyed at their motives being called into question when they’d much rather move the conversation along. “Of course it’s a social call, what else would it be?” Weariness? Isolation? Loneliness?
The god leans further into the room, eyes squinting in the half-light, the long fingers of one hand reaching out to touch the mysterious gift in question. Their curiosity is well and truly piqued.

SHE HAS opinions on quill's new hermit ways ( the main one being that she misses him ) . but she hadn't expected him to find a BACK UP ( as if that were possible despite his best efforts ) .

A SOUND of annoyance escapes her throat at the choice of ' my charles ' . as if everyone and their mother isn't aware of their obsessive relationship . this one followed charles ACROSS TIMELINES for crying out loud . at least from the roll of his eyes , this one is self - aware of it .
❝ not from what i could tell . he seemed fine . and yes , he's aware . there was a little confusion , at first . the fact that he didn't know me was - - - weird . you too , for that matter . ❞
"Hm... a daunting thought." The thought of two Erik's wasn't even that welcome to himself, so it didn't take much to imagine that there would be more than a few people who agreed with both him and Mystique. One was quite enough.
"This Charles... my Charles..." Yes, he knew how ridiculous it sounded once it had passed his lips, visibly rolling his eyes at his own choice of words. "Was he injured?" It was best to get a good idea of what to expect. "I gather he is aware of his current predicament?"

DARKNESS CROWDS her vision , hot fear and anxiety sending her head dizzy and reeling . she reaches out for him , needing something to keep her standing . her mouth is dry and her chest feels tight , like her ribs are about to implode around her heart .
he doesn't know . she knows he doesn't . and it isn't fair for him to find out like this . ❝ it should have been different , ❞ she breathes . her throat works as tears threaten . ❝ oh god , erik , i'm sorry . ❞
It’s just the two of them left now. Emma disappeared some time ago. Then Riptide. Now Angel and Azazel. And he has had to be the one to break the news to Mystique; there’s no-one else left to do it, after all.
The stolen reports lie on the coffee table for their perusal, Erik leaning against the wall a few paces away. Wetness sits in his eyes – a common occurrence nowadays – but doesn’t escape to his cheeks. His tears won’t help them now.
Forehead creases. “Azazel?” He knows Mystique and Azazel had been close at times, just like Mystique and Angel, but such depth of emotion is unexpected – maybe even concerning. “...what don’t I understand, Mystique?”

it's not easy to be loved by you, you can be a tough pill to swallow sometimes. you do care about your loves, but it's hard for you to show it. it's easy for you to break hearts, and that can scare your loves. sometimes your love isn't a good enough reason for people to stick around, but that doesn't really bother you all that much. i really hope that you find the person who sees your love and thinks "that's the most beautiful thing i've ever seen".

HIS SHAKY hands , the way his eyes shift , the sweat that speckles his skin . he's hiding something she thinks . she doesn't move when he goes off to change into the clothes she gave him , curiosity getting the better of her .
she spends the time he's gone eyeing the area , wondering what could have possibly happened to him out here alone ? unless he hadn't been alone ? when he comes back , her arms are crossed , hip popped as she eyes him .
❝ raven , ❞ she answers . then , as simply as if she were asking about the weather , she says , ❝ so . did you kill someone out here ? ❞
"Th... thank you." The Texan was quick to nod as she went to grab him some clothes, trying his best to keep himself gathered together. The last thing either of them needed was him panicking and transforming -- - he wasn't sure he could take another round so close to the full moon and he definitely didn't want to put the woman in danger.
He was already relieved that his wolf hadn't found her before she'd found him after he was human again.
As she returned, another wave of relief swept over him, somewhat shaky hands nervously taking the clothes. "That's... that's real kind of you." Quickly, he nodded to her in appreciation, glancing around at the trees where he could put them on a little more privately.
Pulling them on didn't take long, his original clothes not taking much to fully tear from his skinny figure. "Thank you, I..." Ethan began as he stepped back over, shoulders hunched as he nervously buried his hands into the jeans trouser pocket. "I dunno how I can repay you. But, uh... I'm... I'm Ethan, by the way."
